Right!!! With these same actors too! I love this video! 😍 I can feel her emptiness and feeling lost at life and to have that spark of hope and a new crush is the best!!! 💗
I’ve written the script in my head… she is a girl from Youngstown Ohio who gets a scholarship to Yale for dance and theatre. She meets a Prep School guy while at Yale and they date and develop a relationship. Graduation Day comes and he tells her that it’s not going to work out. They are from 2 different social classes. She is devastated and doesn’t know what to do. She goes to Vegas to find some kind of theatrical gig. Only to end up as a maid while looking for a Real Job. He’s a west coast tech guy who went to SDSU… has no girlfriend. And is in Vegas for a tech convention. They get together and have a great time. But he goes back to SF and she goes back to her job. He comes back a year later for the conference and looks her up. She has a job choreographing Vegas shows and has found a happy place. They both agree that there is something there ❤️. He moves to Vegas is able to work from home and they live happily ever after. I LOVE this Video. if you can get a scriptwriter to buy into this idea. Let me know 👀Sorry but I have been thinking about this whole idea for a long time
I actually really like this music video. It feels genuine. The girl cleaning at her just-over-minimum-wage job, then her going home to her post-college life apartment feeding her cat after the night shift, flopping on an unmade mattress. Meets a guy and does something completely unroutine for a once in a lifetime fling, finally enjoying what everyone around her does every day. It just feels down to earth
I’m a longtime Killers fan and I prefer Brandon’s solo albums. They’re not rock, they’re “super pop” and gorgeous. The albums Crossfire and Desired Effect are both incredible all the way through.
Once in a lifetime The suffering of fools To find our way home To break in these bones Once in a lifetime (Once in a lifetime) Once in a lifetime Oh, give me a shot at the night Give me a moment, some kinda mysterious Give me a shot at the night Give me a moment, some kinda mysterious Once in a lifetime We're breaking all the rules To find that our home Has long been outgrown Throw me a life line Cause honey I got nothing to lose Once in a lifetime (Once in a lifetime) Once in a lifetime Oh, give me a shot at the night Give me a moment, some kinda mysterious Give me a shot at the night Give me a moment, some kinda mysterious Give me a shot at the night Look at my reflection in the mirror Underneath the power of the light Give me a shot at the night Give me a shot at the night Give me a shot at the night I feel like Im losing the fight Give me a shot at the night, some kinda mysterious Give me a shot at the night Ho Give me a shot at the night Give me a moment, some kinda mysterious Give me a shot at the night Give me a moment, some kinda mysterious Give me a shot at the night Give me a moment, some kinda mysterious Give me a shot at the night
Again, Brandon has written another simple poetic masterpiece, and yet another triple entendre. (at least). It looks like a song about gambling, which it is, but it could easily be read as a gamble made by a young couple on each other, who are struggling as the both grow up and move back to where they grew up, or the gamble The Killers made to go to England and take a chance, and are still struggling to live back at home. "We're breaking all the rules To find that our home Has long been outgrown Throw me a life line Cause honey I got nothing to lose" Brandon taking his own unique experiences, and penning a beautiful memorable song that goes along perfectly with their Vegas, take a shot at glory, roots. And he finally settled and ended up back in his Utah home roots. Why this haunting Vegas song is now a staple at almost every Killers concert.
Dear Brandon & The Killers, Every time I hear this song and watch the video I’m amazed at how you are consistently able to capture the feelings and emotions that encompass growing up, young love, and the human condition of wanting to be desired. Your music has been at the top of so many lists but still underrated in my opinion. From music video production to amazing songs that energize, make you want to dance, and sink deep into your soul it’s amazing what the Killers have become. I hope you understand how appreciative we all are of music you’ve given us. You’ve captured the heartbeat of the middle class person and shined the spotlight on what is really important. Far be it for me to say but you guys are to this generation what Springsteen was to the 70s and 80’s. I’m not sure how the magic comes together when it comes to the Queen’s, The Tom Petty ‘s, or the Dire Straights of the world .....perhaps the music was always there and it was just waiting for you guys to find it, but I’m certainly glad you did. Thank you for everything. Love and best wishes.

This music video reminded me of my first dates with my girlfriend. This song and the video clip can perfectly translate that this was what we felt and what the meetings were like. I love her so much.
Here in June of 2024 cause the Killer's debut album came out 20 years ago now. And I am in denial. They forever sound like nostalgia and promise and youth and all good and bad that comes with it. In reflection, that time of my life was hardly great, perfect or better. In fact in some ways it was much worse, I was simply younger and thus "cooler" but societal standards. Yet I was struggling. But artists like them, were a lifeblood and make you appreciate life in and of itself.

I saw The Killers live last week for the first time in Madrid. The moment they started playing this song I was living one of the best moments of my life
This song will always remind me of Dec 2013 when my exgf and I got back together, got engaged the same night. and married a week later. we're now expecting our 2nd baby.
This song gives me an immense feeling of nostalgia, love, losing someone, meeting someone for the last time, leaving a perfect city or place or simply rejoicing the complexities and sorrows of our minute lives.... This is one of those few songs that made me come out of the clutches of depression. Thank you The Killers band for such a beautiful song.
Youre right, i lost my granny, she was best women in the universe, she died 6 months ago, whenever i hear this song it reminds me of her, sorry for my bad English im still learning.
Discovered this song in one of the loneliest seasons of my life but it was absolute bliss; knowing there was a shot in one mundane night. That fireworks happen when one least expect it. Innocence meets sparks of colours 🩵
Honestly so in love with this music video. I love how she feels like she doesn't know where she belongs because she's still trying to figure out who she is and maybe she's a little afraid to be herself because she isn't sure she would be accepted. And then she sort of meets him and he just helps her find herself and they have this great and rare connection. Or at least that's what I hope happens. Either way, love The Killers. So damned underrated though 😒
The Killers are just spot on with their music. They actually go to the effort not to sound like everyone else, to sound original. I love all of their music... especially love the hint, presence, influence of 80's style in their music. Just an amazing band!
1:39 Love his hand and head movements on "cause honey I've got nothing to lose" cause that's exactly how it feels to have nothing to lose. Give me a shot at the night! 😍
I like how Max waits for her to finish getting ready like a nervous groom and then his smile when he sees her for the first time. Aaah. Melts my heart.
is anyone else smiling like an idiot while watching this? it's so simple but ridiculously magical. I love how that girl got that one special night to break away from the mundane routines of her everyday life, keeping the memories forever :')
No.. hes touched by that part of the past that we all long to keep with us that nostalgia and the hope of the future we all want ... his songs all carry That feeling of what we need to feel but can rarely find its why we love his songs... killers music is like a drive through the desert at night seeing stars with it playing on the radio with your loved one in shotgun... but the realtionship feels like its at the end and your able to accept it... but it wont ever stop hurting you... all that plays is the radio and as the stars shine down you start to find peace in the fact you need to move forward with your life even if the past carrys your pain

I'm fighting back tears as this song is a stark reminder to cherish your interactions in this journey called life. This takes me back to 2014 when I worked at the US Embassy in Mexico and lived out of the Sheraton next to it. Most nights were spent staring at the Angel of Independence statue feeling as if was almost staring back at me. I met a girl who looked past my stoic introverted ways and would drag me out of my room even if I resisted. We'd listen to live music, attend quaint coffee shops, and her infectious laugh would stay with me as I smiled myself to sleep. In a serendipitous moment I heard a familiar voice inside a Starbucks poking fun at a guy's accent, and coincidentally it was her. She was caught red handed as I was the guy she was poking fun at as I turned around to meet her eyes and we laughed hysterically. This song reflected us ruling the night and her shining a light into my soul that I haven't felt in some time. Brandon overlooking Las Vegas almost mirrored my nights looking out at the bustling streets of Mexico City. This and "Miss Atomic Bomb" were the soundtrack songs of my life at the time and she defined those memories. Tragically she passed away May 12, 2017 after getting hit by a car as she rode her beloved scooter to work. At first I saw a new selfie she uploaded to her Facebook, not knowing it was her family mourning her. I was in total shock, so much I was prescribed Zoloft for the first time in my life. I realized I was actually in love with this woman given how much I've guarded my heart ever since. I still remember her singing songs to herself and again that laugh that laugh that both haunts and soothes me.

What a touching story to read!! I understand your sorrow must have been and/or is overwhelming at times. It might be hard, but maybe try to think of her as your guardian angel (like the statue you watch). She helped to open your heart to someone. Now it’s open and hopefully healing/healed somewhat…to allow you to move to another stage of your life. Remember her and smile for the ways she helped you to become who you are. And be ready when she sends someone special just for you.

This song is a decade old and I only JUST heard about it after the VGK won the Cup. This song embodies those nights in Vegas while we're young, the dreams we still hold close to us, longing just for that one shot at something big, something real. It was the perfect song for the victory parade and montage. I listen to this one multiple times a day and each time I put boots on the ground in the valley.
At 2:14 they are inviting her to be part of the Thick Eyebrows Club. She reluctantly accepts knowing full well the sacrifices needed to enhance her brow volume.

This song will always remind me of Dec 2013 when my exgf and I got back together, got engaged the same night. and married a week later. we're now expecting our 2nd baby.
Who cares

Abraham Morin congrats bro
Congrats man 👍
Abraham Morin wow man that's awesome to hear thanks for sharing!
This song gives me an immense feeling of nostalgia, love, losing someone, meeting someone for the last time, leaving a perfect city or place or simply rejoicing the complexities and sorrows of our minute lives....
This is one of those few songs that made me come out of the clutches of depression. Thank you The Killers band for such a beautiful song.
hahahaha
Youre right, i lost my granny, she was best women in the universe, she died 6 months ago, whenever i hear this song it reminds me of her, sorry for my bad English im still learning.
That's incredible ❤❤💛💛🌞
Exactly, I'm feel it right now.
Can’t believe this is 10 years old. Time really races you by.
The Killers always do the BEST music videos
Love this song so much & the vocal of Brandon Flowers is simply amazing!
THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND PURE I WANT TO CRY
The Killers always give you this lethal blow of emotion with their songs... incredible that's why they're The Killers.
Don
Thanks! You said it perfectly.
@@veronicashipp5207 Wow Hi Veronica, I've never read this comment until now.

3 years later and I still cry of happiness because this love story.

This story and song have “A movie script written all over it”….
Waiting for someone to write it and nurture it ❤️
The Killers are just spot on with their music.
On point! 👌😎❤
this video makes me smile and believe in love .
So do i, its amazing the way it make you feel!
ricardo zepeda you're right .
I like how Max waits for her to finish getting ready like a nervous groom and then his smile when he sees her for the first time. Aaah. Melts my heart.
i love that part too, le looks really in love :)
Agree. Captures a moment of appreciation of true, genuine beauty that both the young man and woman feel in their hearts.
Máx?
@@jeancarlosanchezgonzalez8998 el es Max Minghella
Yes me too
Aww I love the story in the video and I love this song
As a former house cleaner and a fan of Max Minghella, I'm LIVING through this music video. It's so cute and wholesome.
This song is amazing! Love the 80's sound
I cant stop listening to this song its so good
Same here... just so beautiful...
is anyone else smiling like an idiot while watching this? it's so simple but ridiculously magical. I love how that girl got that one special night to break away from the mundane routines of her everyday life, keeping the memories forever :')
this treasure is 10 years old, damn. What a great time it was back when the band was together creating bangers
His voice is just 👌
Sometimes, when I'm at my lowest, I watch this video and it makes me feel like life will get a little bit better. And after this song, it always does
This is a perfect song to enjoy in a sunset
Probablemente una de las mejores canciones y vídeos que he visto. Me llena de nostalgia llevar tantos años escuchando esta maravilla.
Totalmente de acuerdo contigo!
MAX MINGHELLA IS A RARE GIFT FROM THE HEAVENS THANK YOU UNIVERSE
samantha1011 I agree ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I SUPER AGREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
ahahahahahaha
Who's the girl with him ?
Brandon Flowers is a man touched by God. I love his music... this song... this MV... amazing.
No.. hes touched by that part of the past that we all long to keep with us that nostalgia and the hope of the future we all want ... his songs all carry That feeling of what we need to feel but can rarely find its why we love his songs... killers music is like a drive through the desert at night seeing stars with it playing on the radio with your loved one in shotgun... but the realtionship feels like its at the end and your able to accept it... but it wont ever stop hurting you... all that plays is the radio and as the stars shine down you start to find peace in the fact you need to move forward with your life even if the past carrys your pain
@@jan3211200, God gave this man the ability to sing though. Not everyone has a natural singing voice. Don't believe me? Ask anyone in your municipality to sing once. Not everyone can. So, yes, he was touched and created by God to have this gift.
@@snuffedtorch3683 your lack of understanding probability demeans this mans effort he put into singing its a skill you work at no something you get randomly you dont randomly understand notes when you cant read you dont understand tone when you cant talk you learn these things and its not magically given out like a lottery dont look down on the effort he put in himself
the killers kinda remind me what queen would have been if Freddie was still with us

The Killers are just special, I can't believe it's been over 10 years since this came out, this song use to play on the radio nonstop and I would geek out. This is definitely one of my fav Killers songs, they just keep impressing and the longevity they have had in music is crazy. When this comes on I still get goosebumps wow.

@@Sparkly-Unicorn I got misty-eyed as I'm now reading your comment and coincidentally killing time before a date. I was meant to read your comment now.
@@TheDatingDocTV Oh wow!!! The timing of this is just very cool! I just love the Killers but only recently came across this video and song. Hence the random timing of my comment. I do hope your date went amazingly great!! But if it didn’t, then it’s just another step needed on your individual journey. I was just so totally moved by your story. I see you have a channel. I will subscribe and hopefully get to hear how things go for you!! 🌻🌻
Whenever I see this video, I smile. It reminds me that today's music isn't just about sex, or fame, or money. Just love.
Me too :)
At 2:14 they are inviting her to be part of the Thick Eyebrows Club. She reluctantly accepts knowing full well the sacrifices needed to enhance her brow volume.

This is the most 80's sounding song I've heard since the 80's, damn...
After years of listening, this song still gives me vibes like I have something I am missing, a bit of nostalgia, at the same time gives me comfort, and mostly feelings that I can't explain. Waaahh....
It's called synth pop 80s revival.
@@kamadowoah4584 Oh, thanks for pointing out! Never heard of that genre, but I've already done my research and yeah, time to discover some "new" old songs for my playlist haha. Thanks again.
