Prokoffiev performed with extraordinary virtuosity, unique musicality and a lot of sensitivity! Dear Olga, you are GRANDE! Congratulations and thank you so much for your music👏👏👏👌👌👌🥰🥰🥰
What a great and powerful performance. She doesn't try to break any speed records and this is how I feel this sonata should be played. Reminds me of the stunning live performance by Sokolov.
This is an emotionally vast landscape...pathos, passion, searching, and an intense bittersweet beauty. Olga plumbs these depths while providing her own unique interpretation of this intellectually and soul demanding work which is one of the greatest sonatas of the 20th century. She was completely emotionally drained because she gave everything this music asked of her.
Magique, magnifique, divin !!!... Merci, Olga Scheps.
I actually think she is just a little better than the other greats the way she brings music out. I really WHAT when i heard her the first time. In a good way:)
I confess that I am not familiar with Prokofievs Piano Sonatas at all, but still I am hit by this interpretation. Like if a new musical landscape opens up for me. I cannot judge if it is Olgas playing or Prokofievs music. I have to put this on repeat.
Yes, and after some listening I begin to like this more and more. And I have learned it is almost a standard repertoire for pianists. This music is an outburst of the piano, but I have come to like the more poetic values in it, for example in the first movement. And the second movement is like a wonderful hymn.
PS And I forgot to say how much I love Olgas playing in this. For me she is a genuine musician with a strive to get the most out of the music she plays.
We have finer , mre thoughtful musicians not just finger-pianists than I believe the heralded and much talked about period of 1890-1940's ! I see proof everyday . This is a truly memorable , insightful performance of a work that is played alog with Barber and Ginastera sonatas and now Carl Vine sonata more than most 20th century piano masterpieces ! She balances and weights here as fine as one would expect in Bach. The recording and maybe site itself doesn't allow me to hear subtleties of her pedaling but what I hear is fantastic -is a wonder seemingly not present so perfect is her sound palette ! She definitely has ideas !
Agreed. Not as "loud" as some male pianists but there is a lot of "space" in this interpretation. The tempo helps too as the rhythmic dynamics become very legible. Thanks for your comment.... :o)
Guess this piece is over my head bc I find the music a bit...what? Disturbing? Horrifying? The performance is impressive, but it us fricking grueling. Watching and hearing her play it almost feels like watching her be chased by an assailant while we stand by and do nothing. That is a bit sick! Feels like playing that way would warp you, and listening to her play it should make you want to rush the stage and SAVE her from the monster! Play more healthy pieces, Olga.
It's meant to be that way. It's nickname, after all, is 'Tank Attack'. Please read the story behind this piece and you will understand why it has to be this way. Not all music is meant to be pretty and soothing.
Is this music? Well, let's say yes. But it does not owe anything to really magical earlier composers like Brahms or Rachmaninov. I cannot fit into this stream. Olga Scheps is a good piano player and I listened to some of her other pieces, Chopin for example. Chopin's music sounded much better to me. I am giving Olga my great thank you but I will no more listen to anything Prokofiev's. I would call it Dissonata. I don't press 'like' because I don't like the music and I don't press "dislike" because I respect Olga being so courageous.
@@AntypeC Thank you for your deep thought. Based on the way your comment is written, you judge my whole intelligence because I don't like Prokofiev's music. Sorry I doubt your reason then. And after all, that's just my taste I have the right for, and it is not insulting, may be just arguable. Note please I don't suggest to start discussing your own preferences and your intelligence. I respect both and it's not my concern unless you offend me. Nevertheless, wish you all the best.

She has a beautiful touch...lovely performance, totally at the service of the music. Rare to find.

I am totally in awe of Olga playing this piece ,, it induces so many emotions , it’s so “scary “ at times ,, addictive,, beautiful,, 💕💕💕💕💕💯👏👏👏
From the first notes this a physical, mental and emotional tour de force by Olga! A wonderful and exhilarating experience!!!
just astounding how many truly great pianists there are these days. my new favorite interpretation.
Just exactly what I was thinking--my new favorite. And I listened to this after--after!!--listening to Richter. Wow. Just wow.

Very true

Very nice to see young musicians grasping the dynamics of emotionally complex works. Fantastic work !!!
Lyrical, crystal clear, and powerful (as needed). Wonderful performance!
I will forever love this thumbnail of Olga ❤️
She plays with much perfection, everywhere, everytime...
Colores!! ritmo!!! temperamento!!! wow!!! amazing!!!
Olga ist die Allerallerallerbeste!!!
Olga, you rock! You are playing Prokofiev, for chrissakes.
Obrigado. O Abraço de Lisboa em 22.08.21
Fantastic performance!!!
Incredibly riveting performance.
A great pianist and a profound musician.
maravilloso!
Pra mim ela é a melhor... nossa geração...
An angel. She plays as if she comes from another world
Excellent third movement. A real tour de forcé.
Amazing tour de force of an exceedingly difficult piece
I didn’t expect to much at first, this is such a hard piece - but this is REALLY good!! Congrats!!
I would of wanted to give her hug after that performance. Looked emotionally draining
Bravo OLGA!!!!
After such a performance the applause are surprisingly soft, were they all sleeping ?

Técnica e toucher extraordinários.
Very clean. Incredibly clean.

That's exactly what I wanted to say, and you beat me to it. No "banging"; very lyrical.
Also, thankful for sports bra at 21:17.
Exactly!!!! Every note is well thought!
like the slower tempo of the first movement. Allows the music to breathe so beautifully. a great performance. love it!
Agree with Antonio, very clean performance.
I'm surprised she didn't smash the piano after that performance. Massive punk energy. 🔥
It is a challenge and she presents it to us soooooo skillfully that even we can understand the beauty of it.
Great...
Absolutely insane...
Cool !
Schwer zu spielen ❤👍👍
Was macht sie da??
Unglaublich !
Olga spielt immer so.
Please. Why do we need the monochrome camera?
I like this much better than her Chopin.
I like her Chopin just as much. best pianist of today
Saludos
Her concert attire is more fitting for a gym.
And if so? Playing the piano in a performance is almost like a work out. You are sweathing all the time.
She nothing but lost her control near the end of the 3rd move. But still very good!
I Saw a lot of (good) pianists losing control here. Sokolov, yuja wang, Pletnev, Richter, managed to keep it until the end
Guess this piece is over my head bc I find the music a bit...what? Disturbing? Horrifying?

I guess you despise Schoenberg, then, because compared to his contemporaries, Prokofiev was tame and traditional.
Simon Kawasaki I don’t know Schoenberg. Perhaps you cold recommend a piece?
