Should I just say that every note of Tchaikovsky is pure heaven! I am but a young teenager who is chronically ill and sometimes when I feel that candles flicker, the moon fails to shine, and stars forget glitter on the blue canvas of the night it is but this music that gives me hope. I shall forever be grateful to those hearts that composed such lovely melodies.
I always feel grateful when I listen to Olga. Grateful that she was born with talent, that she developed it and put in the countless hours of hard work to perfect it, and grateful that she shares her talent with the world.
I am in total agreement with you. Just listen and watch the way she plays the well known but somewhat melancholic Barcarole (June). I’m also grateful to have heard about and followed her for a few years.👏❤️
I admire Tchaikovsky for always having so many musical ideas and motives in his pocket. Never will they end, as we have seen by now. The Seasons is just a bunch of them. Still this bunch shows us what a genious composer he is, also for piano. In my opinion Olga Scheps takes well care of his genios, and then adds a part of her own genious to it. The result is splendid. I can listen to this over and over.
The perfect romantic setting, sound, and light, who can then be better suited for playing that piano, then this woman. I like the way she plays, so subtle and airy. I have never heard better in that sense. I have just discovered Olga, and hope many more will do the same. She has a feeling and touch that maybe is unique.
Great Performance! Thank you! Tchaikovsky's genius never stops surprising me. He composed The Seasons for extra income to publish in a magazine for average home piano players; thus at medium level of complexity. He had to remind himself not to miss the deadline within the busy schedule he had. But that did not stop him from pouring his heart and soul into each and every piece along with divinely beautiful melodies and his unique quality of composition.
Olga Scheps, is very good. Don´t lose track of her. She is determined to play piano always. Her excellent formation by her Mom and Dad since she was a child, her fabulous training, her spirit and determination will continue to make her better and better every day. Marvelous Pianist. The best
Splendid performance. This is one of Tchaikovsky's best compositions. Olga really knows what she is doing here. This is certainly an underrated piano treasure.
@@leoinsf A Tchaikovsky work we don't hear much is 'Manfred Symphony', based on Byron's poem. I think it's his greatest symphony, even though it's not numbered as the others.
Tausend Dank.
Often I listen to this performance while driving the car. Then time flies by quickly. Each time listening, some new musical subtleties enjoy my heart originating from this beautiful romantic piano blessing played by Olga. I would wish mankind to more open up to such values I count as more real than the often gross noise of daily life. Thank you, Olga.
Beautiful to watch and listen. Thank you, Olga. ) If vistors here play the piano, I recommend: it is fun to play these pieces on an intermediary stage. I am just now into January and October. Olga's interpretations work like an incentive and blueprint to me. Lots of feeling. Lots of ideas are coming. And some Russian soul...)
It is so good to hear the entire cycle of the Seasons (The Months?). The only month I've heard is June, and I've always been wondering what the rest is like. Now I know. This is not the Tchaikovsky that we know. It is the more intimate Tchaikovsky recalling Robert Schumann, and it certainly deserves to be heard more often. Your playing, Olga, is sensitive and insightful. It's pure joy to watch you play. Thank you.
Very good interpretation. OLGA SCHEPS is a classy woman she dresses very elegant and decent because the eye should not hit elsewhere... the ear should listen the music only. Thank you. Krikor Vasken from L. A. CA.
This music has followed me through years. And Olgas version gives a wellbalanced and apperently deeply felt version of this masterpiece. Bravo! (My favourites are March, April, May, June and October)
Extremely talented new generation pianist!!! Just recently known about her geniousity through her full album Melody. So sweet and superb display of playing the entire Tchaikovsky's "The Season" work!!!!
All the forgoing comments have said it all! Your kind Olga comes along but few times and when they do ,we are all in for a treat! Thank you for allowing us to get to know you.
Even though, I’m not a classical music expert but I find your performances to touch my heart deeply! You play so beautifully! Thank you dear Olga for leaving me a profound moment in my life with your lovely music. 👏👏👏❤️😊🙏🙌
Desde. Santiago -- Chile, eres una hermosa mujer, qué se impira y qué sé entrega al sonido del 🎹 en Chile tenemos compositores cómo Humberto. Allende y otros. Saludos para tí, Olga Schips.
*Epigraphs by Various Russian Poets- from the Commission of Tchaikovsky’s The Seasons from Nikolay Bernard* January- “At the Fireside”- A little corner of peaceful bliss, the night dressed in twilight; the little fire is dying in the fireplace, and the candle has burned out. February- “Carnival”- At the lively Mardi Gras soon a large feast will overflow. March- “Song of the Lark”- The field shimmering with flowers, the stars swirling in the heavens, the song of the lark fills the blue abyss. April- “Snowdrop”- The blue, pure snowdrop - flower, and near it the last snowdrops. The last tears over past griefs, and first dreams of another happiness. May- “Starlit Nights”- What a night! What bliss all about! I thank my native north country! From the kingdom of ice, from the kingdom of snowstorms and snow, how fresh and clean May flies in! June- Barcarolle- Let us go to the shore; there the waves will kiss our feet. With mysterious sadness the stars will shine down on us. July- “Song of the Reaper”- Move the shoulders, shake the arms! And the noon wind breathes in the face! August- “Harvest”- The harvest has grown, people in families cutting the tall rye down to the root! Put together the haystacks, music screeching all night from the hauling carts. September- “The Hunt”- It is time! The horns are sounding! The hunters in their hunting dress are mounted on their horses; in early dawn the borzois are jumping. October- “Autumn Song”- Autumn, our poor garden is all falling down, the yellowed leaves are flying in the wind. November- “Troika”- In your loneliness do not look at the road, and do not rush out after the troika. Suppress at once and forever the fear of longing in your heart. December- “Christmas”- Once upon a Christmas night the girls were telling fortunes: taking their slippers off their feet and throwing them out of the gate.

Sorry for 2 years of time from your original post. But have you heard of the orchestrated version? It seems to work also.

January- “At the Fireside”-
