I love how you include the photos of the plants that you're talking about, really nice touch to the videos - Thanks so much for sharing & much love from Canada 🍁❤🍁
I agree with Caesar. The liner in the pond will get ruined by the water lilys. But the Turtles and/or frogs will be great and love it once the vegetation comes in. That sand is great stuff for turtle nests.
Best of luck on the animal journey. If you put the same dedication into learning about them the same way you have all your plants, they will be very happy well cared for creatures.
I think you are right. I have been doing plants for 30 years. I have hired someone to work with the animals 25 hours a week, but I am trying to spend 1 to 2 hrs a day with them as well. I have two elderly pit bull rescues 15yr & 14yr old and I try to spend as much quality time with them as well.
I bought a leopard tortoise from southern reptiles (in south FL). She's 3 years old, and thriving here in central FL. I bring her inside every night & during the winter.
When I first came to Florida on my honeymoon there was a nursery called Tropical World and they had hanging wooden slit baskets with philodendrons that were 4ft x 4ft with roots hanging down to the ground. No way to take them home on the airplane.
kenan you need too keep working whit tom you and your friends can do wonders whit him for the good pouns and habbitays i love too see how you twoo make your dreams together and keep working togeher i love it
Like Kenan says his is like botanical gardens i think thats how you should do yours and now that youv got that pond you can do all sorts of good things
Great pick ups at the Daytona show. I saw you passed by me and I wanted to stop you to introduce myself but it looked like you were a man on a mission while holding a deli cup. Hopefully next time!
You know I kind of agree with Cesar on this one I do love Lillie’s but it’s going to make it harder to fish for little kids if you want people to catch and release and it would just be upsetting to lose line and lures to beautiful Lillie’s and having fish get stuck in them especially turtles too. I think having the lilies might make it into a headache but I would maybe put easier floating plants in there instead that won’t get too damaged and or include an island or 2 in the middle of that pond so that some of the turtles and wildlife can have an oasis and it might give it some structure underneath for all the fish but man I cannot wait for this new pond. Also have you thought about maybe getting some cool schooling fish like African cichlids or even just little platties or something small to kind of catch your eyes? And cichlids come in alll sorts of color and variety and that would be so cool o think there’s a place in Florida where they specialize in cichlids. And fresh water fish. But man I am so excited for you!! You’re almost there Tom you’re gonna have your own zoo!!
I am thinking of keeping 70% of the surface open. Restricting the lilies to the south side. Yes an island would be cool. The water drops to 60F in the winter. I believe that maybe too cold for African cichlids. But another dream I have is to add a pool heater to one of my ponds and raise that temp. from 60F to 70F then anything would be possible.
Get to know your different reptiles a little better and you'll do well. You should always know a little something about your reptiles/animals before you buy/get them. Love what you're trying to do though.
Great point. That is an array of different animal species, which individually, are going to require very specific care. That’s not to mention dedicating your time, time and more time.
I do not want to grow too fast. I want to make responsible decisions about all the reptiles. The white leopard tortoise was born and raised in Florida so I purchased cautiously, because I heard the ones from the west do not do well in the Florida humidity. Sometimes the shows make purchasing spontaneous. So I must be careful.
I have to do a good job with the animals. I left a longer comment below. Thank you for commenting and I am glad you are enjoying. I feel it is a privilege to be able to work with these animals. I want to learn and grow.
Love your vision wished I lived closer I would have loved to work for you with the reptiles and fish and become more knowledgeable about plants but I live in Charleston S.C. but if your hiring let me know❤keep these educational videos coming I love your channel. 👀🩷👍🏽
Thank you. I wish I could do a better job. Between the gardens, collaborations, recording, and editing it is more than a 40 hr a week job. Plus I own a nursery with 30 employees. Plus I need to spend quality time with the animals. I need to build a team.
I love that you have such big dreams but I also love that Caesar is there to try to keep things in check a little bit . He seems to have a very good eye and he definitely isn’t afraid of hard work, so he isn’t trying to change your vision b/c he doesn’t want to do the work. I’m sure you can sort it out so both of you will be content in the end- especially if you don’t make him redo it numerous times lol
I truly love you and Kenan together! Him passionate about animal husbandry, and you, an expert in botany. Makes for a great pairing!

You better listen to Cesare! Lol! 😂❤😂
I have to have a couple. I promise to keep it mostly open.
@@PlantsfulfillingdreamsYou guys are the best! 😁
There's plenty of room for lily's ...I was just joking! 🤩

Great video! Your unknown turtle is a Northern redbelly cooter.

My favorite jungle looking plant is a Tree philodendron they have the roots growing out of the ground and with large leaves with white flowers
When I first came to Florida on my honeymoon there was a nursery called Tropical World and they had hanging wooden slit baskets with philodendrons that were 4ft x 4ft with roots hanging down to the ground. No way to take them home on the airplane.

Stop me anytime. Next year I am going to spend two whole days there. I had to catch a plane to Chicago so I was in and out in 2 hours.

Oh that would be cool!!! I’m so excited to see your land develop more with some animals!!

What turtles or tortoises is kenen giving you in trade for the plants?
I don't know. We are going to do a large planting at his place in about one month. Maybe than.
