I appreciate your post here and actually talking, it honestly helped a lot. Good thing I'm retired, I finally got both of Yuffie's done in hard mode it only took me 9 hours! It honestly takes a lot of luck and having things fall into place some of those green and orange catcus that are a 100 points are very difficult to kill at times, especially with them switching from green to orange back and forth like that. And the big ones can be very contrary, running all over and not falling... Then you have the catus throwing out a multitude of bombs... Earth quakes and the 100 pt. Green ones will shoot all those needles at you... All the damage they do takes our points away... This has literally been a Nightmare! I see this being a lot more luck than skill. Granted, it takes skill, but skill alone isn't going to win these for you!
I'm really hating rebirth with all of these absolutely horseshit ridiculous mini games! Yes, the original had mini games, but not this many, and they weren't this ridiculously difficult that took me hours to do like this one! There are so many mini games that are this difficult and time-consuming, just taking away from the actual game! I don't mind mini games, but not this many! Regardless if I am able to Platinum it, I for sure will never play this game again, it totally isn't any fun at this point. I am no stranger to tough games I have Platinum all the Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Demon's Souls, and Lies of P to name a few... There is hard and challenging and then there is just ridiculous, and I personally find most of these mini games insanely ridiculous and obnoxious at this point!
Not for all of us going for the Platinum it isn't! Not to mention that completing some of these mini games on hard or a side quest with hard mode will unlock other things in this game. Yes you are right you can probably finish the game by not doing a lot of these mini games, but because they have them tied to trophies, rare items, and further content to the story most of us try to complete them.
But Elden Ring and the other souls games are not difficult to platinum specially if all of them have glitches for you to overlevel 😂😂😂 you thought by mentioning these games it would add up some "impressive gaming resume" whwn it comes to Plat trophy hunting? @@aali4726 As soon as giant gold or green cactus do body slam art of war and supreme art of war them. For orange ones use banishment and ninjutsu. I use a maxed out first strike materia as well as chocoking cape to start the battle with two full atbs. Use any atb boost materias you got. That wind attack without throwing your shuriken is your friend for crowds of enemies. Doppleganger when needed.
How? My Aerith has all the same gear and he kills the bloody things in the video so much faster than I can, by the time I hit 5000 i'm almost out of time

I spent ages getting really mad at the Aerith stages running out of time with 5700 points, nearly broke my controller. Turns out this is just a really bad guide that you need perfect RNG to get a pass. Don't bother using soul drain, use transcendence, et it charge and then unleash it on the gold gigantuars when they slam, will do 90% of their health in 1 attack, charged square to finish them and rebuild atb. don't bother casting wards immediately, run straight into the groups and use storm, then cast a ward after to mop up. I switched to doing this and immediately passed both first try with over 6200 points and 30 seconds left on the clock.
@@10000Needles Managed to get it done within an hour of my posting. Doesn't change the fact that too many of these mini games are trash tier. When winning or not comes down to the RNG behavior of enemies on a tight time limit window, it adds little value to the experience. It would be one thing if this type of nonsense weren't required for the Platinum but it is. Rather than just being for bragging rights within the Play Log. Also, Tifa's final stage crunches I managed to get right after this Aerith trash. The controls for that were trash too.

Nice guide, I wish I had found it before finishing the challenges yesterday. One thing that helped with Aerith was the Transcendence skill on the Gigantuars, but the charged basic attack dealt big damage, I should have tried it.
@@aali4726if Yuffie’s hands are empty ( you threw the shuriken at an enemy) Windstorm will do magical damage. If Yuffie’s weapon is in her hand windstorm will do physical damage. Make sense?

thank you great guide. Was stuck on Aerith 1st one for while, until I got a good RNG run. One thing is whenver I had 2 bars instead of waste i used chronis which helped. Managed to do the 2nd Aerith one first try
Tip for Yuffie: don't mash the Square button when going for the magiatuars. Instead, throw the shuriken and use a hold Square attack, which deals high damage and retrieves her shuriken. Then Triangle again, hold Square... you get it. It kills them much faster than spamming the Square button. Triangle, hold Square, Triangle, hold Square, Triangle... Tip for Aerith: don't sleep on her Tempest (hold Square) attack, it's better than spamming Square against the giant cactuars when you don't have enough ATB for her MP drain attack or Transcendence is not ready. It can also be improved further with weapon passive skills.
I recommend equipping materias like First Strike and any accessory that helps recover ATBs faster. That helped me start the fight with at least one full ATB gauge and work a bit faster. It's still hard, but every little bit helps.
Honestly even after knowing what moves to use, passing all of these take luck. That being the case, I suggest equipping AT LEAST 3 luck materia maxed out for both yuffie and aerith. It becomes much easier trust me, I beat them all first try.
Just a tip, but it does help if you have the Hermes shoes equipped. A mastered first strike, speed up, strength up, magic up as well especially for aerith.
Minigames completely ruined this game. Original minigames were more than enough, no need to fill a game with dumb mood-breaking minigames all the way to the end.... this is just SE, they can't do ANYTHING nice even when it comes to just remake one damn perfect game.

I finally did it! I used the 4 point shuriken. Valkyrian bangle. Space ranger medal of honor. Time materia. First strike materia. Skill master materia. Speed up, strength up, fire linked with elemental materia. Remember to dodge and roll away from bombs and attacks because that’s what will get you! Use windstorm, doppleganger and Art of war/Supreme art of war. Make sure you pay attention if you’re shuriken out or in when using windstorm since they both affect different cactuar’s differently. Good luck!
An additional thing that worked for me i was breezing through the yuffie ones and the aerith ones annoyed me for hours EQUIP HERMES BOOTS being able to spam with aerith early on made it a breeze
dont even understand. it took you easily 30 seconds longer to kill the first few then i take. only problem i have is the big cactuars half way through just wont falking fall. they just run away endlessly until times up.
This! I get so many attempts where they refuse to body slam and just run down the clock. I would almost prefer taking out the time limit but increasing the points removed being hit. I'm super good at dodging... shitty at time limits lol.
Agreed that mini-games are necessary to enhance the game's interest, but too many will fragment it. Not to mention, gamers having to grind through additional difficulty levels of mini-games just to earn Johny's trophy is absurd. If part 3 of the game remains like this, I think I'll rate FF7 one star.
TRANSCENDENCE This is the answer to insta deleting the gigantuars! You don't even have to wait for them to body slam you just cast it as soon as they appear regardless of affinity. Finished with 6300 & 1 minute to spare.

Another tip not mentioned is that you should use chocokings cape or the item that gives you haste and first strike materia to start with 2 full atb gauges or haste. Not sure if they help but i also put magic up, strength up, 2 luck ups, enemy skill and a bunch of auto cast materia just for the stat boosts.
It might go without saying and maybe you don't need it but good lord. First Strike, Speed Up and ATK up for Yuffie. Making sure Aerith is wearing the accessories to boost her M. attack is also important. You'll see some godly time spikes unless you're over leveled. Using Transcendence isn't necessarily important but if you have bar to spare between the assault spend it so your second use can go to destroying the bigger ones. a Trancendence II will one shot Gigantaurs. Fleeting Familar is niche but every little bit helps. In the first 2 games alone I didn't just break the score but there's a limit to how many Cactuar appear. You can if you're not eating time just beat all of them and end the game
The only thing I'm struggling with is getting Aerith to stand up after she's knocked down. In the video, she gets up instantly. It takes her a full three to four seconds to stand up in my game because she's checking her knees or something.
Thanks for the tips! I had been charging Transference for the giant Cactuars when Soul Drain would have worked quite well! Did Aerith Hard mode on my first try!
Finally did it, and never want to do this ever again 😂 on hard mode anyways - should've finished the story before doing hard mode mini games really. Additional bits for me were speed demon keychain, first strike and skill master materias, plus luck up, speed up, etc. The different windstorms and holding square with shuriken out really helped, as well as the calm commentary - thanks Johnny! 👍🏼
@@aali4726 if you throw the shuriken out with triangle, then windstorm will do physical damage around where the shuriken is spinning, which is effective against green cactuars. If Yuffie is holding her shuriken, then windstorm will do magic damage around where she currently is, which is effective against the orange cactuars. There's a triangle command indicator at the bottom right that shows "Throw" if Yuffie's holding the shuriken, and "Retrieve" when it's out. That and holding square to slow things down, and moving the camera around to see if she's holding it helped me use the appropriate windstorm at the right time. Mostly 😅 Good luck with it!

It's kinda funny how I played 200+ hours of Yuffie (including Interograde) and I still don't really understand basic things about her attacks (like how windstorm counts as magic damage if you don't use her weapon).
I finally got done with these God forsaken Cactuar challenges. Aerith's second one was one of the worst nightmares I've had in a video game but it's easily the worst of the four. She's so slow and clunky. My last challenge was Yuffie's second one and I absolutely annihilated it first go with 53 seconds to spare. Those cactuars didn't have a hope in hell after what they made me go through with Aerith... Once, once only and never EVER again.
Nice advice.. I did throw elemental and fire materia on both Yuffie and Aerith weapon along with the fury ring, first strike materia, speed up, magic up, enemy skill and strength up... and got threw all 4 of these terrible challenges.
this is more tedious than getting Tidus ultimate weapon. At least in that there was only 1 or 2 frustrating mini games. in this there are about 10. Square Enix are nobs. im using thee right affinity and the little blighters never seem to die.
lol I got perfect with both Yuffie stages. I found those super fun, and for once it felt skill based. If you know her move set really well and what counters what it’s so easy. Then Aerith stages happened and all that goes out the window and we go back to bang your head against the table RNG. If one Cactuar runs off, you’ll fail. If you don’t hit enough of them in one sorcerous storm and this happens a few times, you’ll fail. You’re not in control at all…
Transcendence is top tier for passing Aeriths stages, I did them before Yuffies and that skill makes such short work of the larger enemy that you have so much more time for dealing with the smaller cactuars
Yea I’m ngl yuffie stages were way more fun than aerith’s but as soon as I heard I should use transcendence the aerith stages were super easy to complete

You can put the game on easy mode. It helps alot if youre stuck. If its part animal mission On the tron berry people. Make sure you dont have nayone who shoots long range they will only attack when arranged attacks are used or if you get close. What I did was to get my ATB meter full and used Firaga on them in groups, just make sure to avoid theor instant death
I initially struggled greatly with the first 3, but then I did the fourth one first try...? I dunno how I did it first try, but I'm glad it's out of the way lol
Yuffie hard challenge 2 (Intel 3) is a pain. I’ve completed it with 5980 after getting all the cactuars because I got hit too much. Frustrating. I finally managed to get 6180 with 3 seconds left after days trying to do this. Overkill.. especially if you keep getting hit in combos like me. -40 x 3 infuriating
i have no idea how you managed to do this i managed yuffies but with aerith i have no chance and i followed you ideas and direction which is great but didnt work out for me sadly so i guess i will not be completing this since i cant
Absolutely RIDDICILOUS…… for me the only thing that helped: Give Aerith the first strike materia, therefor if youre lucky you can take out the first three cactuar saving a ton of time, secondly give her the Hermes Boots accessorie which gives you an advantage and if you are good enough than you can take out the first Golden Gigantuar… but even with this…. By far the hardest minigame…..
How do you get through the waves so quickly? I'm comparing my time with yours and I'm finding I lose way too much time in the third wave having to pick up stragglers. I specifically mean the third one with Yuffie.
Beat both of Yuffie's pretty easily using this video. I can't even hit 3K on the Aerith levels. I have magic and strength up materias. Using storm on the groups and drain on the big ones. On stage 2, I got to the pair of orange big ones and just couldn't take them out. The guides are great, I think it's a lack of skill and the RNG trolling me
Absolute bullshit they tied the party level to this. Hard modes of mini games are supposed to be their own damn thing. You DESIGNED an easy mode, you knew this.

No matter what I do I’m still stuck on #3 and I keep doing worse each time, I even equipped strength, ATB materias, etc… I’m doing windstorm doppleganger banishment and art of war but nothing works, I keep getting to the last round with not enough time (Edit: Dawn of a new day, equipped two luck materias. I got 5900 on 3rd challenge , then my next attempt I had 1 min 26 left then just randomly during an easy round and at a decent 4k it just blew the whistle on me and ended. Have no idea what happened
Aerith was easy but yuffies 2nd challenge makes no sense to me. Windstorm crits both magic and glad’s with it retrieved and not thrown and then vice versa. I’m at 10 seconds barely hitting 4000 and it’s pissing me off
Dunno how you do that 3rd intel one, you say yuffie is easier but I get to the last wave witha. Minute to spare but get flored by bombs and im just not doing enough damage
There's a lot of things happening on the screen for that last wave, I found pressing X helps me see what's around in slow motion when there's chaos. There again I'm still stuck on the 3rd one with Yuffie 😅 I need to follow my own advice when wondering if she's got the shuriken out or not, especially when the doppelganger's out, now that I think about it... Also, f*ck the camera on this!
Thanks! I was able to confirm on my end level does not matter. I beat 3/4 on hard mode with Aerith and Yuffie at level 49. Only 1 more Aerith round to go 😫

I finally did it! I used the 4 point shuriken. Valkyrian bangle. Space ranger medal of honor. Time materia. First strike materia. Skill master materia. Speed up, strength up, fire linked with elemental materia. Remember to dodge and roll away from bombs and attacks because that’s what will get you! Use windstorm, doppleganger and Art of war/Supreme art of war. Make sure you pay attention if you’re shuriken out or in when using windstorm since they both affect different cactuar’s differently. An additional thing that worked for me i was breezing through the yuffie ones and the aerith ones annoyed me for hours EQUIP HERMES BOOTS being able to spam with aerith early on made it a breeze
dont even understand. it took you easily 30 seconds longer to kill the first few then i take. only problem i have is the big cactuars half way through just wont falking fall. they just run away endlessly until times up.
This! I get so many attempts where they refuse to body slam and just run down the clock. I would almost prefer taking out the time limit but increasing the points removed being hit. I'm super good at dodging... shitty at time limits lol.
Agreed that mini-games are necessary to enhance the game's interest, but too many will fragment it. Not to mention, gamers having to grind through additional difficulty levels of mini-games just to earn Johny's trophy is absurd. If part 3 of the game remains like this, I think I'll rate FF7 one star.
TRANSCENDENCE
This is the answer to insta deleting the gigantuars! You don't even have to wait for them to body slam you just cast it as soon as they appear regardless of affinity. Finished with 6300 & 1 minute to spare.
Bonus tip for Aerith, try keeping her Tempest skill (hold square) at all times, helps you with attacks and extra damage when soul draining.

Thank you so much for the guide. I’m such idiot I was doing wrong not know they weak to physical and magic with colour one. Still took a lil while for me beat it.
Another tip not mentioned is that you should use chocokings cape or the item that gives you haste and first strike materia to start with 2 full atb gauges or haste. Not sure if they help but i also put magic up, strength up, 2 luck ups, enemy skill and a bunch of auto cast materia just for the stat boosts.

It might go without saying and maybe you don't need it but good lord. First Strike, Speed Up and ATK up for Yuffie. Making sure Aerith is wearing the accessories to boost her M. attack is also important. You'll see some godly time spikes unless you're over leveled.
Using Transcendence isn't necessarily important but if you have bar to spare between the assault spend it so your second use can go to destroying the bigger ones. a Trancendence II will one shot Gigantaurs.
Fleeting Familar is niche but every little bit helps. In the first 2 games alone I didn't just break the score but there's a limit to how many Cactuar appear. You can if you're not eating time just beat all of them and end the game
I was missing windstorm!! I had never used the twin viper I guess. First attempt after I enabled windstorm I breezed through it! Absolutely critical
For Aerith, to avoid being tackled by light and dark cactur, use Chrono Aegis. It will freeze whoever is trying to tackle you.
The only thing I'm struggling with is getting Aerith to stand up after she's knocked down. In the video, she gets up instantly. It takes her a full three to four seconds to stand up in my game because she's checking her knees or something.
I mash circle whenever I get knocked down, so maybe that's why?
Thanks for the tips! I had been charging Transference for the giant Cactuars when Soul Drain would have worked quite well! Did Aerith Hard mode on my first try!
Finally did it, and never want to do this ever again 😂 on hard mode anyways - should've finished the story before doing hard mode mini games really.
Additional bits for me were speed demon keychain, first strike and skill master materias, plus luck up, speed up, etc.
The different windstorms and holding square with shuriken out really helped, as well as the calm commentary - thanks Johnny! 👍🏼

@@aali4726 if you throw the shuriken out with triangle, then windstorm will do physical damage around where the shuriken is spinning, which is effective against green cactuars.
If Yuffie is holding her shuriken, then windstorm will do magic damage around where she currently is, which is effective against the orange cactuars.
There's a triangle command indicator at the bottom right that shows "Throw" if Yuffie's holding the shuriken, and "Retrieve" when it's out. That and holding square to slow things down, and moving the camera around to see if she's holding it helped me use the appropriate windstorm at the right time. Mostly 😅

For Aerith use charged normal attacks on downed gigantuars when you need to build atb, it does tons of damage

It's kinda funny how I played 200+ hours of Yuffie (including Interograde) and I still don't really understand basic things about her attacks (like how windstorm counts as magic damage if you don't use her weapon).
I finally got done with these God forsaken Cactuar challenges. Aerith's second one was one of the worst nightmares I've had in a video game but it's easily the worst of the four. She's so slow and clunky. My last challenge was Yuffie's second one and I absolutely annihilated it first go with 53 seconds to spare. Those cactuars didn't have a hope in hell after what they made me go through with Aerith...

Nice advice.. I did throw elemental and fire materia on both Yuffie and Aerith weapon along with the fury ring, first strike materia, speed up, magic up, enemy skill and strength up... and got threw all 4 of these terrible challenges.

this is more tedious than getting Tidus ultimate weapon. At least in that there was only 1 or 2 frustrating mini games. in this there are about 10. Square Enix are nobs. im using thee right affinity and the little blighters never seem to die.

lol I got perfect with both Yuffie stages. I found those super fun, and for once it felt skill based. If you know her move set really well and what counters what it’s so easy. Then Aerith stages happened and all that goes out the window and we go back to bang your head against the table RNG. If one Cactuar runs off, you’ll fail. If you don’t hit enough of them in one sorcerous storm and this happens a few times, you’ll fail. You’re not in control at all…
Transcendence is top tier for passing Aeriths stages, I did them before Yuffies and that skill makes such short work of the larger enemy that you have so much more time for dealing with the smaller cactuars
Yea I’m ngl yuffie stages were way more fun than aerith’s but as soon as I heard I should use transcendence the aerith stages were super easy to complete
Im having a load of issues with this but thinking about it im only level 42 atm so ill probably beat the game then come back at a higher level

You can put the game on easy mode. It helps alot if youre stuck. If its part animal mission On the tron berry people. Make sure you dont have nayone who shoots long range they will only attack when arranged attacks are used or if you get close. What I did was to get my ATB meter full and used Firaga on them in groups, just make sure to avoid theor instant death
I initially struggled greatly with the first 3, but then I did the fourth one first try...? I dunno how I did it first try, but I'm glad it's out of the way lol
Guys, save yourselves the headache with Aerith and don't do her challenges until you've unlocked her Transcendence ability. Makes it a cakewalk.

Yuffie hard challenge 2 (Intel 3) is a pain. I’ve completed it with 5980 after getting all the cactuars because I got hit too much. Frustrating. I finally managed to get 6180 with 3 seconds left after days trying to do this. Overkill.. especially if you keep getting hit in combos like me. -40 x 3 infuriating

Improve set up by giving some materia and equipment.
Like, for me, I use First Strike and an accessory that raises the ATB.
Absolutely RIDDICILOUS…… for me the only thing that helped: Give Aerith the first strike materia, therefor if youre lucky you can take out the first three cactuar saving a ton of time, secondly give her the Hermes Boots accessorie which gives you an advantage and if you are good enough than you can take out the first Golden Gigantuar… but even with this…. By far the hardest minigame…..
Gave Aerith all the atb boosting purple materia. Luck up as well. Use transcendence from her folio it will delete the big ones instantly

Beat both of Yuffie's pretty easily using this video. I can't even hit 3K on the Aerith levels. I have magic and strength up materias. Using storm on the groups and drain on the big ones. On stage 2, I got to the pair of orange big ones and just couldn't take them out. The guides are great, I think it's a lack of skill and the RNG trolling me

Absolute bullshit they tied the party level to this. Hard modes of mini games are supposed to be their own damn thing. You DESIGNED an easy mode, you knew this.

The second Yugfie one is so hard. Those orange ones with the puff hair are hard to kill. I don’t know why Yugfie and her magic sucks.
Down throw the shuriken at the orange ones if you already have an atb slot then use windstorm on them. Takes 2 casts to kill them
I got 5900 on 3rd challenge , then my next attempt I had 1 min 26 left then just randomly during an easy round and at a decent 4k it just blew the whistle on me and ended. Have no idea what happened
Aerith was easy but yuffies 2nd challenge makes no sense to me. Windstorm crits both magic and glad’s with it retrieved and not thrown and then vice versa. I’m at 10 seconds barely hitting 4000 and it’s pissing me off
What weapon are you using for Aerith?
BRUMAL form? I think you mean BANISHMENT. It's all good, I'm sure I'm not the only one to correct this mistake.
If you cast dopple when you already have a doppleganger, will the buff timer reset?
I believe it does. Wish it had some sort of indicator to confirm, but it would make sense as that's how every other buff works.
When someone says "auto-attack" instead of "basic-attack" they probably play League of Legends

Chadley asks you to get intel data on the gold cactuar, but you can't use assess materia or accessory.
You can get it through the VR missions. Every enemy in the game appears there.

Dunno how you do that 3rd intel one, you say yuffie is easier but I get to the last wave witha. Minute to spare but get flored by bombs and im just not doing enough damage
There's a lot of things happening on the screen for that last wave, I found pressing X helps me see what's around in slow motion when there's chaos.
There again I'm still stuck on the 3rd one with Yuffie 😅 I need to follow my own advice when wondering if she's got the shuriken out or not, especially when the doppelganger's out, now that I think about it...
