Congratulations! I think that optimism is a valuable trait to have in bodybuilding and powerlifting; being optimistic in the long term about training helps me reassure myself that each hard training session, whether I am feeling good, average or bad, all amounts to my long term goals. I think that an optimistic viewpoint, when you know you're bringing it all each session, cultivates mental clarity and success.
I loved your mindset on the bench because of your pec injury & i think that was something if not the most important part so with that its given me hope & faith 🙏 i can overcome mine to bench well again..also your squats were sooooo deep..
I just wanted to say a huge congratulations on your performance! Going 9/9 and setting a PR total is no small feat, especially after everything you've been through with your pec injury. Watching you push through the nerves and battle back becoming stronger has been truly inspiring. You’ve put in so much hard work, and it’s amazing to see all that effort pay off. I’ve really enjoyed following your journey-keep up the great work! P.S. I’m glad I got Joel straightened out
Amazing performance Seth! Watching the whole prep, it was not an easy one but you took everything in stride and did what you could each day to be successful. Keep doing great things!
@@TheHorrorGeek my man. That’s awesome. I’m 35 and took a long break after 10 years of lifting so I’m trying to build a base right now. I might complete again in a year or two. You ever post any of your lifting stuff?
@@jamesmanning8795 Only over on my social media...my insta, sometimes on FB/Twitter etc. I'm just racing father time these days (still trying for that 600/600/405 total... :p)
Holy shit congrats Dr Seth you got the job done!!! (Even tho everyone who supports you always knew you would 😊) Also this has motivated me to make a goal for my upcoming meet to both pr my total and to actually go 9/9 for once in my powerlifting career. Keep up the good shit Dr Seth 🫡
Awesome job. Glad to see all the hard work payoff. Also given the time of year I find it relevant to say I think you’d make a great Yukon Cornelius (albeit a bit more soft spoken)
Hey Seth, i tore my left pec at the humeral myo-tendonous junction last weekend going for my first 500lbs comp bench. I got surgery yesterday, Doctor said it went pretty well and he got basically the whole junction back together. I know a junction repair is really messy and fragile compared to a tendon to bone repair, so it doesn’t exactly relate to yours, but I’m being told 6 weeks in a sling and 6 months no lifting. Got any advice before then?
Mine was a complex tear, meaning the repair involved both the junction & the tendon to bone. Was told no lifting for 12 months and that a complete recover would take 36. I benched my first 405 at ~ 8 months lol. With that said: Don’t try to do what I did because the timeline was risky, but don’t decide that it’s going to be SUPER limited because of the type of tear.
@ that’s an amazing recovery from such a complex injury, you must be a doctor or something ;) in a few months when i am out of the sling and not terrified of movement I’ll hit you up for a consult. I texted Dave Tate and he re-assured me that he put 150lbs on his bench post pec tear, so between you and him i still have some hope
Yes, I put my singlet on backwards for deadlifts. Already had baby powder on it before I noticed so too late to switch lol.
Incredible display of strength, skill, character, knowledge, etc. Insane performance, I hope you never forget this, you’ve earned it.
Amazing lifts man. It’s an incredible feeling when all that hard work pays off. Keep inspiring all us brotha.

Fantastic work! I have loved watching you go through the process and then see it all pay off. And you're right...that 407lb bench flew up.
@@TheHorrorGeek this is the second powerlifting video I’ve found your comments on lol. Do you still lift bro? Did you ever compete?

Oh man I wish I could've come to this meet. I was competing on the same day at a different comp in Tampa.
I love you bro
If history guides the future, you're going to do a big weight cut followed by a PR in a even lower weight class?
Well done...... maybe baby time
