  • Today, we hit the James River in Virginia with a brand new lure to me, the Biffle Bug. The day started out rough but at the end, patience and persistence were rewarded. Please like, comment, and subscribe for more content!

Awesome video! I just came across your channel so I’m going to have to check out all your videos! I e recently tried fishing the wobble head also and I think I’m fishing it too slow I have half ounce and I’m dragging it I might need to fish the half ounce more shallow and pick up some 3/4 so I can maintain bottom contact I was dragging then more like you would with a football jig rather than like you said more like a crankbait

I look at it as a deep crank bait. Really good for finding structure on bottom. I will use a 1/2 ox in about 5 feet or less but any deeper and I’m gong 3/4. I fish so muddy bottom lakes and it doesn’t do as well as it does on rock transitions or in the river where it’s all rock bottom. Thanks for watching!

Great work dude. Upstream there is a place called Reusens Reservoir and it is stacked. Me and my friend fished there and we see some pike swimming around and what looks like 3lb smallmouth jumping out the water. Really recommend someone caught a 4 pound smallie from there on fishbrain 👍

Awesome video. It’s rough loosing lures, but it paid off with some nice smallmouth.

Yes it does! I’m pretty cheap so I really don’t like it haha. I couldn’t believe how well they were eating the biffle bug! Definitely throwing that a lot more this year. Thanks for watching!

Great Vid! Never caught a smallie and have also heard great things about the James. After watching this I'll have to go out on the yak next time I'm in the Richmond area.

Thank you! Smallmouth ate pound-for-pound the hardest fighting freshwater fish. Take a Ned rig out and you will catch a ton! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Losing 1 jig after another is my experience river fishing 😂 I get sick of retying constantly.

It’s definitely anxiety inducing haha. I’m usually pretty good about losing lures so it was driving me crazy. Thanks for watching!

Dude… get some Yamamoto hula grubs for those smallies. Nothing better, and you won’t worry as much about losing jigs. Lol I use both 4&5 inch versions on stand ups, footballs and ball heads all depending on the situation. I love the Biffle heads though. Those things are awesome and catch them everywhere.

@@FullTimeFishing Great job on the videos brother! You are crushing it. I really like what you’re doing. 👊🏻👊🏻 hope I didn’t sound too know it all; especially since I came here for tips myself. 😬👊🏻 those things really are that good for smallmouth though. Would love to see you get that 20+ in the next video.
