    Sad you dont make STI videos anymore....

    I'm surprised you don't have an intercooler guard. Any reason? There is a guy on ebay that sells many different colors of them with the 'STi' logo sprayed on the mesh part. Good for protection and adds a little extra flash to the engine bay.

    Informative video as always! Quick question, I'm still in my break in for my STI and so i haven't had the chance to give it the beans yet. From my understanding the max target boost for a stock 2016 STI is 17.9psi right? Also, do the "drive" settings such as Intelligent,sport and sport sharp have any limits on boost? Or is really only throttle input?
    Thanks

    • @ThatWhiteTesla
      @ThatWhiteTesla  8 років тому

      Max boost is 14.8 PSi, but you'll see spikes to 16-17 PSi which is normal. Also, when in Intelligent mode it will cut boost by a few PSi. If you want maximum boost/response you'll need S#.

    So when it’s cold it should be between L and F? Thanks

    My impreza s deep stick always, shows low on the marked F & L side. It shows accurate reading on the other side.. So i am confused

  • @HoeLeeFuQQ
    @HoeLeeFuQQ 7 років тому +2

    So your saying when the engine is cold it should be at the F mark and when is warm it should be at the F mark also? Doesn't make sense to me because if at a cold level and it reads full when it's warm the oil raises so it will read higher meaning it will over flow and I right?🤔

    • @xavierg2950
      @xavierg2950 3 роки тому +1

      The Low and Full marks are the cold level. There is a notch further up the dipstick that indicates where a full engine will read once thermal expansion occurs.

    2019 sti? thoughts?

    I have a 2017 STI just finished break in period so I checked my oil level and mine doesn't have an F or L on either side just the holes and notch. One side reads half between full and low the other side reads solid full...so which is correct?

      @Jake Colbert dude same! Just checked mine coming from a trip and let the car sit a good while and little to no oil is showing. Only been about 3-4k miles. Did you find anything of why it does that?

    How does Rotella T6 function in hot weather. On the website shell only advertised cold weather. I live in Miami so we don't really get cold weather.

      The 40 weight does well at keeping your oil from thinning in extreme heat. I ran it all last summer (90 degree days all week long) with no consumption whatsoever.

    How often are you doing oil changes on your car

    • @ThatWhiteTesla
      @ThatWhiteTesla  8 років тому

      4000-5000 miles on Schaeffer's. I know plenty of high horsepower EJ motors running 6k-8k on the same oil.

    question, i just bought my sti a month ago and currently pushing 2k miles. the dealership says change the oil at 6k and alot of forum guys changed theirs at 1k. slightly confused and also i live in california where is pretty sunny year round what oil would u recommend? thanks!

    • @ThatWhiteTesla
      @ThatWhiteTesla  8 років тому

      I dumped my oil at 1000 miles. Just too concerned with possible metal shavings from break-in. It's cheap piece of mind. I recommend Schaeffer's Supreme 9000 oil, 5W-40.

    +ElsaSTI Great video man keep it up.. I'm a new subscriber & i also love the sti.. I wanted to ask you For some help I'm almost ready to buy a new car ,but Idk what I should get I really want the sti but I also don't want to send a lot of money and I know these bad boys go for like almost 35-37 thousand I want to get something reliable nice style and fun you know so if you have any comment please write back to me and I will appreciate any feedback thank you.

      +Leonel Liriano It's not just the cost of the car you have to worry about, insurance premiums are pretty costly on the STi as well. Toss in the cost of ownership in terms of maintenance and gas, there is no question the STi is an expensive car to own just like any other sports car. Given what you've said I'd look at getting something like a Honda Civic Si. It has alright style and is certainly reliable yet fun.

    • @leonelangel591
      @leonelangel591 8 років тому

      ElsaSTI Yeah man thanks I appreciate that.. I was looking at maybe a Honda sport 2016 manual or just the honda civic si. The most important thing is reliability and to have that experience of a all around fun sport car.

    • @Mrlolibre
      @Mrlolibre 8 років тому

      +Leonel Liriano Yes the civic si ,especially the new ones, are really nice. You should consider the BRZ/FRS if you can swing a 2 door rear wheel drive vehicle. Call your insurance people and ask for rates on a car before purchasing it.
