I live in Manchester, and watch non league football, but back in the 60s and 70s I always enjoyed watching West Ham on tv or whenever they played at Old Trafford or Maine Road. They always played open attacking football and had some great players, Moore, Brooking, Bonds, Best, and on, and on. So watching this potted history of what was to me the premier London club, is a sheer pleasure. Thank you.
Fascinating to hear about the start of the involvement of the Cearns family with our great club. I too was a shareholder until the Icelandic takeover - owning all of one whole share !! 😎
Another very interesting video Nigel and it was also great to listen to you on Irons United elaborating on the beginnings of West Ham too, you're doing a great job and it looks like we will all get to learn a lot more about West Ham with every new video!!
Very nicely done, thank you. I was born into a Hammers family - my Grandparents were from Canning Town and my Gt Gt Grandfather worked as an Iron Boat Builder. I'd love to think it was for TIW but i doubt I'll ever know for sure. My own claims for fame are I was at school with Paul Ince; my brother who is older was at school with George Parris and my Dad played at the same tennis club as Trevor Brooking!
