You need to watch both videos!! Dolores was scheduled to sing with them on this track; she died the morning they were supposed to record her. Bad Wolves release the song in her honor; and the video is chilling when you compare it to the original by the Cranberries. Watch the videos, Cranberries first. RIP Dolores
This was supposed to be a duet with Dolores, unfortunately she passed before she could record her tracks, that's why it sounds a little different. R.I.P Dolores,we love you and miss you!🙏🙏🙏
I was surprised at how much I love this version. The fact that it was happening with Delores' blessing, and her untimely death prevented her from performing on the record made me want to like it. I saw Bad Wolves open for Bush and Marilyn Manson at Freakers Ball in Dallas 2019, and being part of the crowd singing this song right along with them was pretty amazing.
Bad Wolves and Dolores (Cranberries lead singer) were suppose to record this remake together but the day of recording she passed away so Bad Wolves recorded anyway and all proceeds went to her children
This song is amazing, both versions. I grew up with the original. My Dad and I can't decide which we prefer, with me liking both for different reasons, and my Dad being like you, preferring the Bad Wolves performance of the verse and the Cranberries' chorus, my sister prefers Bad Wolves and my mother prefers the Cranberries. But all of us love both versions and neither would be a disappointment to hear playing for any of us.
The original song/video dropped my senior year of high school. I got so annoyed with people who tried to shit on the song without knowing the first thing about the subject matter the band was addressing.
Just started the video and hope George does his impression of Irish voices again, "luck of Irish" from the Cranberries video made me laugh until I cried.
I saw them last year touring with Hollywood Undead and Papa Roach. They got a huge ovation when they started this song cause everybody knew the significance of the song and they definitely did it justice!
I could be way wrong on this, but I think they were originally going to perform the song with Delores from Cranberries. So they wrote it in a way to match her singing style. But before they could, she had passed. They then decided to record it anyway and have the proceeds be donated to her kids. Again, I could be way wrong, but I think that's what I heard, and that's why they did it in the style they did it as.
You should see the music video as it pays homage to the lead singer of the cranberries who passed away a little while before the badwolves record their cover of the song.
If you guys do check out more of their music, you should know if you don't already, that after their 2nd album, Tommy Vext left the band over Political bullshit that caused a rift between him and his bandmates, he has his own band now and Bad Wolves have a new singer, and both still put out good music, but Tommy was way better with them, at least IMO but songs to check out by Bad Wolves Learn To Walk Again I'll Be There Remember When Hear Me Now No Masters Heaven So Heartless Lifeline and songs to check out by Tommy's band The Lone Wolf/Vext The War You Wanted Trust The Science Cancel The King Video Games (Lana Del Ray Cover) Crawling (Linkin Park Cover)
Halocene has an awesome zombie cover based on both the original and Bad Wolves. Seeing how you like the verse of this and the chorus from The Cranberries, maybe it'll be your favourite ^^
Nobody in this band is stoked to be playing this music. They're burnouts who used to play in (mostly good) metal bands, then reached their mid 30s and started playing the lowest common denominator music to get booked at butt-rock festivals in landlocked states and mainland Europe to make some money. Seriously, one of their current members used to play in The Acacia Strain, and a founding member played in God Forbid, but now they do this. What a downgrade. They are almost certainly making more money now, I just hope the trade-off was worth it
GUYS i freaking love your reactions but i have i question; how do you do to listen the songs withoute headphones/headsets and really appreciate the sound of the songs? i always wonder about that i mean you guys probably have a really studio song on your room
They sound like a really good band with a good singer. I just prefer the Cranberries version, Dolores had such a unique voice that made the original so good to me. Bad Wolves did not do a bad job, liked the modern twist, just partial to the Cranberries.
I just want to say, don't get me wrong, I like to cranberries version, but I like this bad wolves rock version better. It just suits my taste more. Not that the original cranberry song wasn't amazing, it is.
Musically, it's absolutely fine but the original captured the feeling of despair and frustration of the people involved in The Troubles. A cover could never do justice to a song that was so personal and inspired by the murder of two young boys shopping for Mother's Day cards. I know Dolores gave it her blessing but I personally don't think it should have been touched.
You need to watch the video for this and see how they show respect to Dolores and that she was to be there but passed the day of the recording. More I want to say but just can't fit it all in here TBH.
I love Tommy Vext's voice. I think it's amazing and pleasing to listen to. It is a shame that he seems to be toxic in bands. That aside, I feel like the band Bad Wolves did themselves a disservice by doing this cover, because the rest of their music sounds NOTHING like this cover 🤣 They're a HEAVY metal band, and people who listen to the radio will be sorely disappointed when they check out other songs because they liked this song 🤪
This band is a sleeper, Disobey is one of my favorite albums. Highly recommend checking out the highlights from that album. Learn to Live, Better the Devil, Toast to the Ghost to name a few.
Yall should do Larissa Lambert cover of swv weak and Mariah carey my all she an amazing artist from Australia..do a reaction to her please and her remix to eli mae tripping/booed up also
I really wish you had watched the music video from the Cranberries. I still feel like you didn’t take it seriously at all and the subject matter deserved that from you. That wailing sound in her voice was meant to evoke mourning for a reason. The video has actual footage taken of the people, including the occupying soldiers, in Ireland at that time. They were making a very powerful statement that should be acknowledged. Have you paid any attention to the lyrics at all? That’s usually one of the things that I love about you guys. What happened here? You should at least review the comments under your original Cranberries version if you aren’t going to look it up on your own.
Agreed. The subject matter of the original is deserving of the upmost respect and captured the feeling of despair and frustration of the people involved in The Troubles on both sides. A cover could never do justice to a song that was so personal and inspired by the murder of two young boys shopping for Mother's Day cards. I know Dolores gave it her blessing but I personally don't think it should have been touched.
The lyrics are ignorant and just crap overall they really shouldn’t waste their time looking into it and a powerful statement?????? Their statement aligned with every upper class media outlet at the time which was ira bad but we don’t actually tell you why
This is back when Bad Wolves had an amazing lead singer named Tommy Vext. The group kicked him out because he was a trump supporter. Now the lead singer is trash so at least they have 1 decent album 🤷🏻♂️ and what's wild is Tommy sounds exactly the same live. Probably a bit better
It's a decent cover but there's no reason to listen to it over the original after the 1st time. Also taking a song that's about a very specific time in Irish history and changing bits to be a generic anti-war song kinda takes some of the power away from the originals message
Easily one of the most "meh" cover songs ever recorded. But then again, I've always felt this band is a colossal waste of time for these talented musicians, especially Doc.
This cover never really did much for me, so I'm curious to see how it hits you guys. The vocals are all technique and zero feeling in my opinion. Like it sounds *good*, it just doesn't sound like good music if that makes sense. Kinda like polar opposites of your observation you made in the Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here reaction about PF being all about feeling.
Covers generally strike me as soulless attempts at rehashing and profiting off of somebody else's old work. What sort of artist feels good about performing and presenting art they themselves had no part in creating or conceiving? Idk, that's just me, covers tend to irk me. They're like a capatilist bruise on what should be pure artistic expression.
@@xXxXcrosbykidXxXx For me it really depends on the tone of the cover. Are the artists putting the effort into their own take of a song they love, or just putting together a recreation of a song they tolerate? Some covers are phenomenal, and some miss the mark of the original's soul. Kinda the same as any music, really.
@@pane36 Fair point, it can be an honouring of a piece that moved them which is understandable. Somehow it just usually don't come off that way though, especially in today's era where you hear countless pop covers on the radio because some industry giant has rights to an old song and gives it to one of their popular artists to rehash as their own new hit. Any commercial cover just seems disingenuous. But you're totally right, there are extremely well done covers and artists who do justice to the songs and artists whom they choose to cover.
You need to watch both videos!! Dolores was scheduled to sing with them on this track; she died the morning they were supposed to record her. Bad Wolves release the song in her honor; and the video is chilling when you compare it to the original by the Cranberries. Watch the videos, Cranberries first. RIP Dolores
Yeah they literally say that in this video.
They also donated the money it made to her children.
Yes. All of this. When the golden lady walked into the frame I was nearly shouting.
This was supposed to be a duet with Dolores, unfortunately she passed before she could record her tracks, that's why it sounds a little different.
R.I.P Dolores,we love you and miss you!🙏🙏🙏
Imagine what the duet would have sounded like!

Yeah they actually read that off in the video.
@@buzzkillington3840 I saw that after I typed it 😬 🤣
Remember When is a Bad Wolves song about Tommy Vext's twin brother literally killing him. It's worth reacting to.
Saw it live and the story he gave before the song was awesome!
They killed this cover!!! Passion conveys 💯
So glad you guys reviewed this
That was beautiful. Thanks for the reaction!

The video makes it more impactful
“Have a cigar” by the Main Squeeze, cover of a Pink Floyd classic. One of the best covers I’ve ever heard.
Devine Heresy with Tommy Vext!
Now THAT'S prime Vext there.
Y’all haven’t done Rich men North of Richmond yet?
I love the original version and I didn't think I would like this version, but I really enjoyed it.
The original song/video dropped my senior year of high school. I got so annoyed with people who tried to shit on the song without knowing the first thing about the subject matter the band was addressing.
They also changed one other word. The second time Dolores sings Bombs, he sings Drones.
Just started the video and hope George does his impression of Irish voices again, "luck of Irish" from the Cranberries video made me laugh until I cried.
Yup, I'm ready for the brogue again - LOL!
The videos ARE the song!!! Got to watch them both! This one is dedicated to the vocalist who died and ypu see it on the video.
l think tommy vext's sultry raspy voice takes this song to a new level and kudos to bad wolves donatin the proceeds to delores o'riordon's kids
I saw them last year touring with Hollywood Undead and Papa Roach. They got a huge ovation when they started this song cause everybody knew the significance of the song and they definitely did it justice!
They gave money from every show for her 3 kids...I saw them live...it was beautiful..
Bad Wolves - No Masters 🔥🔥
The song itself is a good cover, but I feel like to get the real power of it you need to watch the music video.
I love this version. The original and this are both amazing. Oddly enough, Miley Cyrus has an excellent cover of this song.
I could be way wrong on this, but I think they were originally going to perform the song with Delores from Cranberries. So they wrote it in a way to match her singing style. But before they could, she had passed. They then decided to record it anyway and have the proceeds be donated to her kids.

Guess I could have waited to watch more of the video before commenting, since they say what I said towards the end lol.
Yeah, pretty sad for Dolores. As a 90s kid The Cranberries were huge for me. Respectable cover.
Yeah they actually read that off in the video.
Shes why i dont get wasted near pools, rivers or anything like that anymore
Mother F*cking Tommy Vext! He just kills it. Vocal beast and great human being...
Dan Vasc- Metal singer sings "Amazing Grace"
The Drones. Very relevant. Love the original but bad wolves did awesome on this cover. Love it.
You should see the music video as it pays homage to the lead singer of the cranberries who passed away a little while before the badwolves record their cover of the song.
The War You Wanted by Tommy Vext is AWESOME!!!!
I'm the rare 1% that thinks this cover is way better than the original..
First time I heard it I got chills and cried. Not many songs can make me cry. Not many covers impress me either.
Great cover, friends! Tommy sings with Big emotion!
We have a habit of that
Tommy Vext has a killer voice

First lol. Great cover song from a great band.
Check out " Postmodern jukebox " ,modern songs done in jazz covers
The Breed 77 version of this song is great
Delores Claiborne was suppose to appear in this cover. However she died on the day they recorded. So the song and video became their tribute
They mention this in the video.
Yeah they actually read that in the video.
They Killed this shit, you should check out some of their original stuff
I really wish you guys would do one of my fav all time songs. Ride Across the river - Dire Straights

They’re a wasted opportunity. They kicked out the douche bag singer and have wasted the talent of Doc after he left God Forbid.
Sorry. This remake just sounded like every 90’s rock song. This song would’ve never been iconic without her voice and style.
Please please please do rich men North of Richland by Oliver Anthony music , definitely will not be disappointed!!!
