First, both of my grandfathers had Longines. Next, I own the A7 and have done so for several years. I am not a flipper and wanted just one Longines in the collection. I knew this one was for me. When I was 12 , we lived in Germany and my father was a WW2 veteran. He invited 2 of his friends over. One was German and brought his 55mm BUhr Laco. The other was American and he brought his A7. Both had been bomber navigators in WW2, on opposite sides. That was a evening to remember. And that’s why the A7 was a must. All are great choices. Thanks for sharing your journey.
These are nice watches, and each has its own character. Longines is an underrated brand that has a rich history. As a simple watch collector, the apple of my eye is the Longines Avigation Big Eye titanium. Thanks, Bruce, for such a nice presentation of these watches!
Longines are absolutely killing it with these watches! I’d have all of them! So difficult to pick one. I actually love the off set dial configuration of the A7, very VC and classy in my opinion
Tuxedo all day for me! Stunning dial. I love the Art Deco font with the "open 6" on the Arabics. The Big Eye is awesome, but the Tuxedo just seems way more refined and elegant in every aspect (except the movement).
Wow, that movement decoration on the Big Eye is stunning. Perlage, Geneva stripes, blued column wheel...just wow. I'd go with one of the other Master Collections with the sapphire case back. Just have to see that movement.
I would happily have any of these! Love Longines, I have two in my collection. One being a Heritage and it's 100% their best line but I think they have the best balance of mainstream with the Conquest line and the Heritage line being more expressive.
Don't think there's any wrong decision with this choice Bruce. I have the steel Big Eye myself and absolutely love it. However, knowing you love the owning experience I'd be tempted for something different. The monopusher is really vintage, very different and lovely but I love the Tuxedo. The contrasting tones and beautifully printed dial , it's both retro and sporty with those blued hands packing a real killer punch. Longines just keep knocking it out the park with their back catalogue inspired designs.
Great video. I have a decent mid range collection of Breitlings, Omegas, Panerai, and a Rolex. I have 2 Longines which I wear daily. An Avigation Bigeye, the best Pilot Sport under 5K, and a Spirit Zulu Time GMT. I'm thinking of buying a Heritage Silver Arrow as a dress watch. I found a new one at an AD. Longines are the best kept secret in NA
Longines kills it, good lord, I could own all their catalogue and die happy. Right now I only own the 40mm spirit, vhp gmt, and bronze legends diver. Good job.
I struggle to not make my collection lean too heavy on Longines because they have so many great pieces. I already have two and there are at least a half dozen others I covet.
Love longines. I have a vhp GMT and the marine nationale which is my daily. I think they are fantastic. I have others, grand seiko and davosa but Longines just meet every aspect of what a watch enthusiast looks for. A Dolce Vita auto and moonphase are on the list for the future. Buying slightly used gets you a massive amount off the rrp as well.
@Floyd below sums it up. You know you are a diver guy, so having a stunning, special Longines affordable 'dress watch' in your collection gives it a chance of being a keeper! Tuxedo all day long. I have the Hamilton Intra-Matic H manual. A close more affordable neighbour of the Tux. And I am a diver guy like you. I love it...
I've been very interested in buying a longines, I have a AD not to far from me so I can try them on ,I'm over buying watches online without trying them on .
Probably not since my Senior prom, and that was a very long time ago, would I ever consider wearing a tuxedo again.. so, yeah, I'm all for the Tuxedo Chronograph on this one. It's definitely a tux I wouldn't mind wearing any time and any place. The Big Eye Avigation is certainly cool and popular and it is also indeed a very good watch for the cost. But, I just feel I've seen it to death and it feels like the go to Longines chronograph if you're going to steer someone or possibly yourself towards a first chronograph from Longines... Even any of the entry level Swiss luxury brands. Besides, and not so coincidentally, you've done it already in the original steel version.
tuxedo for sure. I own a triple calendar chronograph and I'd say tho their "fresh and new" models like the titanium big eye looks great, nothing exude pure class like the classic tuxedo chrono
The Longines watches look very stylish without being over ornamented and they are reasonably priced, even second hand they are a great bargain and are about my favourite watch make.
Of the 3 you have my favorite is the Big Eye the "petroleum" dial is amazing. But the watch I am getting is the Longines Master Collection L2.773.4.78.3 which also as a Column Wheel Chronograph as well as a moon phase and perpetual calendar. Additionally, it has a display back Amazing Value for so many complications.
I own the avigation big eye it’s an amazing watch. It’s grade 5 titanium which is amazing material at this price point, and I believe the movement is designed just for this watch, Jeff.
Great video! Love Longines as you may know... Own many vintage ones, no chrono mind you. Out of the 3, the tuxedo is the most striking one! Gorgeous one. But the blue petroleum dial big eye one is the most collective one I believe. Ps: I do believe the case back well done is as beautiful as a see through case
Longines will be the next omega. In 5 years they are for sure occupying that market space the omega was in just a few years ago, before they went upmarket. They're absolutely whooping Tudor, Breitling and tags asses in terms of value for money.
Nice one Bruce, I'm likely to be a tad biased but I'd go for the BigEye, I have the black dial in steel and for me it's the most at a glance readable chronograph I have. You have already owned the steel version so I guess you know what to expect with the titanium petrol dial. Next for me would be the mono pusher possibly as it's different as I do not have experience of the offset pilot dial or a mono push chrono. I really like the 'Tuxedo' but I prefer the three hander version I guess for me less is more for this one. Take my views with a pinch of salt as we are all different and have different preferences that change over time and that's what makes the hobby fun.
I completely agree with Bruce here . I would love to have the big eye with a custom exhibition case back . However does anyone know whom I need to reach out to ?
I’m curious as to what that watch would look like either with a smaller track around in blue or with out thacymeter around the dial, and I know that it’s part of the design and I love it but with your editing skills, I’m sure you could show what a full tuxedo dial would look like, a trade curios.
I have both the A7 and the Tux. Both great and oddly enough I wear both mainly WITH A TUXEDO! The Tux you have in Video has a bad strap. Needs to be on a croc
Longines has gone from being on the brink of irrelevance to absolutely slaying the heritage segment. The heritage diver, sector dial, tuxedo chrono, big eye, and now Zulu time are all great pieces and superb values. I think as Omega/Breitling/Tudor et al. climb the price ladder, Longines will be in a great position to clean up that sub 3K market.
In Asia, Longines is a big hitter. Not as big as Rolex or Omega, but it sells tons of watches and is highly regarded:) They are highly underrated here:(
Bruce: It doesn't matter which Longines Chrono you buy. Whatever it is will be gone within 6 months. I think I know you too much because we are similar when it comes to trying/buying watches and off-loading the ones that don't get the wrist time. Currently I have 3 micro-brand watches coming in by the end of Sept. I know only one may make the cut and stick around but I feel like I need to try them all. I've got 2 Tudors; Black Bay S & G GMT and Black Bay S & G chronograph. One will leave my collection. Life in the watch fast lane is not easy, it's not clean, but that's the way I have to go.
I am one of those that prefers the solid case back, there are a few highly finished movements which need to be seen, think Lange etc. These Longines are really nice. My vote is for the Tuxedo.
Longines are severely underrated.
With amazing variety!
agreed I have a Bigeye and a Zulu time which I use as my daily wears from a decent collection
First, both of my grandfathers had Longines. Next, I own the A7 and have done so for several years. I am not a flipper and wanted just one Longines in the collection. I knew this one was for me.

Longines is killing it - personally went with the 37 mm spirit in champagne on bracelet for my first one - great work daily !
I would happily have any of these! Love Longines, I have two in my collection. One being a Heritage and it's 100% their best line but I think they have the best balance of mainstream with the Conquest line and the Heritage line being more expressive.
I have 3 longines in my collection; the style, quality, heritage and price are unbeatable. I can't recommend them highly enough.
I love the Heritage Classic Sector Dial with the small seconds.
the Tuxedo is absolutely insane !!! the best looking chrono today (or back in the day) !!!
One of the truly great brands historically.
Don't think there's any wrong decision with this choice Bruce. I have the steel Big Eye myself and absolutely love it. However, knowing you love the owning experience I'd be tempted for something different. The monopusher is really vintage, very different and lovely but I love the Tuxedo. Brilliant. Really enjoyed watching that. Longines has an extraordinary back catalogue 👍
Three gorgeous watches. Longines has an amazing lineup from 1k on up. I love the heritage diver also.
Heritage is nice. But so is the master collection. Longines is super underrated
Hi Bruce, I like your videos ! Your french pronunciation is GOOD ! Carry on with the great stuff. Cheers, Pat.
Love the Big Eye. Considering that one as well.
My favorite of those three, is the tuxedo one, it’s so gorgeous and the ad of it, it’s very cool
Always great reviews here. Its an easy choice the tuxido wears better and it's one of the best looking watches today for any price .
Longines is one of my favorite brands out there.
I really don't have any experience with Longines. Never been to a Longines AD. Wow, these look great. Thanks BW
Longines kills it, good lord, I could own all their catalogue and die happy. Right now I only own the 40mm spirit, vhp gmt, and bronze legends diver. Good job.
Great video, as always Bruce… despite the unearthly chanting at the beginning. 😊
I have Heritage 1951. Almost everyone liked the look of it. Their Heritage line is gorgeous!
I struggle to not make my collection lean too heavy on Longines because they have so many great pieces. I already have two and there are at least a half dozen others I covet.
I love their new Zulu Time GMT
Love longines. I have a vhp GMT and the marine nationale which is my daily. I think they are fantastic. Tough choice! Love the heritage collection. You should've also featured the sector dial!
It’s 14.5mm thick and would be like 15mm with exhibition case back.. you think it’s really worth it?
I've been very interested in buying a longines, I have a AD not to far from me so I can try them on ,I'm over buying watches online without trying them on .
Probably not since my Senior prom, and that was a very long time ago, would I ever consider wearing a tuxedo again.. so, yeah, I'm all for the Tuxedo Chronograph on this one. It's definitely a tux I wouldn't mind wearing any time and any place.

It isn't built as well as the Big Eye. The pushers are inferior too.
I own the avigation big eye it’s an amazing watch. It’s grade 5 titanium which is amazing material at this price point, and I believe the movement is designed just for this watch, Jeff.
I love the Heritage line, especially the Conquest, Flagship and sector dial (no chrono)
great intro!
Any one of these means that you KNOW about watches!!!! Stand out from the crowd without breaking the bank.
There are plenty of substitutions for the tuxedo with Art Deco vibe, but the big eye seems the one and only. Just my two cents...
Why buy a substitute when they pale in comparison
Measurements? Case diameter? Case thickness? End to end lug length?
The Spirit in 37mm is what has my interest. I will not buy a chrono again. I’m all for clear uncluttered dials.
Longines Conquest in 39mm is super gorgeous. I believe it blows away the Tudor Ranger at the price
Definitely you are one of if not the biggest Longines fan that I know!
Love this brand
Hey Bruce, you mentioned possibly getting a custom open caseback for the Big Eye. Where might I be able to get one for my own Big Eye
Where did you get the Oris wall clock Bruce?
Great Video!
Longines will be the next omega. In 5 years they are for sure occupying that market space the omega was in just a few years ago, before they went upmarket. They're absolutely whooping Tudor, Breitling and tags asses in terms of value for money.

I would go with The type A7. It’s uniquely handsome
For me it would be clear Bruce: that Tuxedo for me!
i was looking at the marine nationale with the intent to buy when i got your notification!
I have byg eye steel, I'm in love with him!
I need a longines in the collection… these are 🔥🔥
Big eye for me but that tuxedo chrono is handsome!
I have the tuxedo it was love at first sight
Tuxedo ftw out of these three for me. I have the Heritage 1945. My only gripe is I wish it was smaller. It wears very large for a 40mm.
I completely agree with Bruce here . I would love to have the big eye with a custom exhibition case back . However does anyone know whom I need to reach out to ?
The A7 actually has a hunter caseback so you can see the movement!
I have sneaky feeling you've bought the heritage 1951 tux Bruce 😉 am I right 😂👍 hope you enjoy it
I’m curious as to what that watch would look like either with a smaller track around in blue or with out thacymeter around the dial, and I know that it’s part of the design and I love it but with your editing skills, I’m sure you could show what a full tuxedo dial would look like, a trade curios.
I would go with the Avigation of the three. My wife hated how far the pushers stuck out when I showed her at the AD, so she didn't care for it.
Did you get it ? The big eye is so sick ! One of my favorites watches
I have both the A7 and the Tux. Both great and oddly enough I wear both mainly WITH A TUXEDO! The Tux you have in Video has a bad strap. Needs to be on a croc
It's the Tux for me.
Go for the big eye, that's the best of the 3.
What's up with 2 of the 3 having odd number lug widths? That seems rather inconvenient. Is it that difficult to just make them 20mm?
I was going up buy a Longines heritage model but then I came across the Tissot Telemeter 1938 in black, and the Tissot won me over 😂.
nice oris on a wall ! Where to buy ?
Look at the A7 1935 white dial………amazing.
Once upon a time, Longines was Rolex' No.1 Competitor. Then the whole world went PIMP for Rolex :(
Yet most of the watches you just mentioned are above 3k.
190th anniversary editions are fire
Can you buy exhibition case back for these watches ?
Love Longines. Did you decide on one BW…?
I would definitely go for the Big Eye but.... the "regular" one again. Thanks for the great content you provide mate!
I appreciate it!
Which one did you end up purchasing?
In Asia, Longines is a big hitter. Not as big as Rolex or Omega, but it sells tons of watches and is highly regarded:)
They are highly underrated here:(
They sell more watches than Rolex and Omega in Asia.
Bruce: It doesn't matter which Longines Chrono you buy. Whatever it is will be gone within 6 months. Love em all
I’m intrigued by the new Zulu Time release.
Big Eye for me
I like the Master Heritage retrogrades.
Tuxedo BW👍
I heard that these Longines are way better than Rolex.
Longines 👌👌👌👌👌👌
I am one of those that prefers the solid case back, there are a few highly finished movements which need to be seen, think Lange etc. These Longines are really nice. My vote is for the Tuxedo.
Clearly Tuxedo! Or the Avigation! 🙂
tuxedo ftw
I think you should buy all three at retail.
The Tux is the best.
Titanium big eye all day
Longine are a completely charming brand. The quality is first class. My advice; Ignore the materialistic vulgar Kardashian’s of this world…..🇬🇧
Bruce who is your hair stylist 🙈
A 1980s troll 😁
Silver Arrow in 41 mm, please make this happen, Longines.
I would purchase the heritage a invitation single pusher if it was 38mm.
All lovely, but all so very thick.
Welcome to the world of mechanical chronographs
@@BruceWilliams theres many thinner though
You can live in one of those boxes.
