      What that tells me is he never sold one. But you must order the camera with the ANPR firmware. I like what it does so far. I have found bugs with the NVR firmware and have been working with the HIK people in China to show them what it's doing. Like pause is not pause when it's night time and some other problems. You can see them in the problems and work around play list.

    Amazing video thank you very much can this particular camera make model be used as a stand-alone so not connected to a DVR ndvr system however I still able to login using the web interface and footage stored on the SD card?

    This video was posted 3 years and 10 months ago as of this post date (September 10, 2021) so I'm assuming that this particular ANPR camera and NVR are now approximately 4 years old (2017 models). Are there newer versions of both available now?

    I have the new firmware V4.1.10, Build 171107 on my DS-7716NI-I4/16P and the various screens are very different from what is shown in your very helpful video. The screens related to NPR don’t seem to be there at all. Am I completely missing something here?

    Thank you so much for sharing these great videos with us!!
    I’m having problem with push notifications from the LPR blacklist or white list. I would love to have this feature up and running but for some reason it doesn’t work. I spent five days already with five or six different Hikvision Tech Support guys on the phone and every time I hear different suggestions since no one really knows why it shouldn’t work. The last Tech Support from Hikvision told me that currently push notification for LRP (White list and blacklist options) are not available yet. Not directly from the camera and not even through the NVR. And the only option he told me is email notification.
    Could you please confirm if this is true or perhaps if you know the process would you please share with us?

  • @NBSTL68
    @NBSTL68 5 років тому

    Thanks for the review. Because your settings optimize the plate, I assume you could not make out details of the car or anything else, right? So would you need another camera with normal settings to capture the car image and surroundings clearly at night? For LPR do you have to assign different settings for daylight than for night optimization and some way to trigger to change the settings?

    • @CaughtonmycctvCamera
      @CaughtonmycctvCamera  5 років тому +4

      Day you can see the car just fine and the people in it. Night all you will ge is the plates unless you have street lighting. Then you can leave it on day and have the IR turn on. But if you have a plate number you don't need much else since that is what you are after.

    I just purchased a Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR and was wondering what cameras would be compatible? The authorized dealers like (B&H photo) want ridiculous prices for their cameras. All I need to do is set up a few cameras and hook them up to the NVR and leave it be. I'm not sure firmware updates are necessary for the camera??? Is it a bad idea to get a english version Hikvision camera off of ebay? BTW I'm totally new to the network camera scene..

    Hi.
    I own a petrol station in Australia. I want to install ANPR cameras on the entrance and exits of the service station. We have a big problem of people filling up and driving off without paying. I want to blacklist cars that do this regularly so they can not scam us anymore.
    1) Is there an alarm for a car that has been black listed. So we will be alerted when someone who has driven off before comes to our site.
    2) Will it display the number plate of blacklisted car so we can know which car we should not be allowing to fill up when there are multiple cars at the site.
    3) Any way to display the number plates on the NVR so we can see a live list of cars entering or leaving on the NVR. It’s not always easy to read the number plate of the cars at the pumps
    4) Any way to show the number of visits next to the plate so we know if someone is a regular customer.
    5) Do you have any suggestions as to what NVR and Cameras are the best for this application. Please suggest something from Dahua or Hikvision.
    I will be very thankful for your help.
    Regards
    Jay

      I know there is software that will do what you want. They Hikvision has partners that have this type of features. It can even predict when the cars will come back after it has had enough data to work with. I have not played around with the black list or white list features of the camera. Hikvision has now released the Deep In Mind NVRs and cameras that have facial reconciliation. I would find out who the local Hikvision rep is over there and have them come over and talk to you about what you want it to do.
      You are going about this the right way. You must always know what you want then research as much as you can and ask lots of very specific questions.
      Camera systems are only as good as the time you put into them. You must know what you want to protect and what you want to see.
      Keep in mind the flow of traffic and where you can put the cameras. There are limitations on what it can read. That is determined by how high it is. The down angle. The side angle. and the slope of the license plate tilt.
      You should download the manual from there website so you understand all that is involved.
      You can join the Hikvision group and get all the answers you think of here. facebook.com/groups/1506135499681808/
      Be sure to answer the 2 questions about why you want to join and what you will contribute. Otherwise the mods will think you are just another spammer.

    Just to confirm?: The camera has all this built in? The NVR does not necessarily need the LPR tools? We have some sites that are using NorthernVideo (HikvisionOEM) cameras and NVRs. I am assuming that this will work.

    • @CaughtonmycctvCamera
      @CaughtonmycctvCamera  6 років тому

      If you have the SD card in the camera it will hole the plate information for a couple of days depending on the amount of cars and if you store video on it. Then it will over wright. I like the NVR because I have more storage and it's easier to search.

    • @latgringo3884
      @latgringo3884 6 років тому

      My concern is that this site has the Northern NVR. Basically an OEM Hikvision without the features. So, we would have to use the camera's built in software for the LPR logging. We are considering switching to full Hikvision on upcoming installs.

    • @CaughtonmycctvCamera
      @CaughtonmycctvCamera  6 років тому +1

      You would need to access the plate info using a web browser. But with the SD card it's basically a stand alone unit. You do not get any line crossing when using the ANPR mode but you can use motion record to the Northern nvr.

    Hi. I just want to know, did you follow the measurement for the post installation? and the angles of the camera towards the vehicles? I'm still trying to work on my setup. Thanks

    • @CaughtonmycctvCamera
      @CaughtonmycctvCamera  6 років тому

      Yes. You must be less then a 30 degree angle from the side and down angle. Also you can not have more then a 5 degree tilt. Meaning if the car is driving on a road that is 45 degrees from vertical the camera must match the angle. The top or bottom of the video must be the same angle as the plate on the car as it goes through.

    Just wondering where you purchased these. I'm looking at ADI and they are listed for $768 each! Anixter is even more expensive. I've heard other people say the non /P version can be upgraded with the LPR firmware but if it was that easy, Hikvision wouldn't charge $300 more for the /P version. My old analog Digital Watchdog LPRs work great but they're "dumb." I'd like to the ANPR functionality with white/blacklisting capabilities. Great channel, love the videos.

    • @CaughtonmycctvCamera
      @CaughtonmycctvCamera  6 років тому

      I have yet to play with the white / black list. As far as I know you can not upgrade the firmware from a non ANPR camera to make it a /p. Some people talk about it but I have yet to see prof it can be done. You can use other cameras like the DS-2CD4A25FWD-IZH(8) to get plates. You just need to make adjustments to the config settings to make it dark enough so you don't get glare from headlights. There is a thread on the Facebook user page about using other cameras. He is using a DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZ 8-32mm and it works good. You can join in the group here. facebook.com/groups/1506135499681808/

      It needs a 12 VDC power supply to power it. Then you can run the cable into the back of a TV and use the video IN port. At least then you can see if it works.

    I have been looking for a self contained LPR set-up like this. Like everyone else, I can't seem to find the camera with the LPR firmware anywhere. I have contacted Hikvision. What is a ball park price I should expect? I see the similar ones without LPR firmware range from $500-$700 USD.

      Just to ensure I understand this firmware thing correctly, the "/P" in the model number is what designates that it has the correct firmware? I have finally found that B&H allows pre-order on them, this things are like ghosts.

      LPR cameras historically were cameras that used white LEDs instead of the red LEDs with 1mp or 2mp, and of course are varifocal. Hikvision really up'd the bar with analytics and more specifically the LPR analytics. All these cameras are IP even though the could do this on analog and yes they even have some analytics now on analog. As far as the cameras cost you will be paying north of 500 and some of the more higher mega pixel ones around 750. I buy from a company that ships from south america so the prices I get are usualy half. Most of the ones on ebay are also not USA version which can be an issue when you need tech support

      Sorry.. I got it figured out finally. I regret not getting the other lens on this camera though, as it may improve the plate captures. My camera is mounted aways from the road, and the zoom is totally out.

    • @CaughtonmycctvCamera
      @CaughtonmycctvCamera  5 років тому +1

      You must also be within the max angles it can do. There is also a side tilt limit on the plates, You should also set some motion detection lines across the area so it will always get video.

    • @MicheIIePucca
      @MicheIIePucca 5 років тому

      For sure. I knew I was limited as to how close I could get to the road... but I'm still satisfied in that all I wanted to do was have the ability to catch the plates (via video) if I need to. The captures pictures aren't too bad either. The camera doesn't get the label correct, when it tries to guess the plate, but thats ok. This video shows where the camera is located (back right top of the veranda/porch).. well out of the hands of people who could try to steal it. To install the camera, it took standing on the top part of a 6ft ladder. The camera is zoomed out all the way as well. ua-cam.com/video/x65wofvygTQ/v-deo.html

    • @MicheIIePucca
      @MicheIIePucca 5 років тому

      I ordered and received a DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZHS8/P... it is way better as you said it would given that I am some distance from the road. Using full zoom, it captures most of the plates. The ones it doesn't "capture" with pictures, they are usually readable via video. I took down my DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZHS/P and just used the same box. I'd like to have another 8-32mm pointing in the other direction (have to wait for another pay day cycle :) ). I think the DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZHS/P (2.8-12mm) would work for environments where the camera is closer (obviously).. such as parking entrances... etc. I'll have to see if I can find a buyer for it. Love these cameras though for the price.

      i would recommend the highest frame rate that you can,
      you can also just for testing by forcing the camera to be on night mode and see if you can see the plates good, if you can you will know that your problem is that the IR doesn't turn on,
      remember that is an LPR camera and her purpose is only to see license plates at night.

      Any recommendations on where to order this camera with the firmware? And is there any difference between "IZH8" vs "IZH" models?

      If you are in the usa you can contact Hikvision to fina an authrosied dealer. You should stay away from a gray market camera. AKA Chinese one. You will loose the 3 year warranty and the support from Hik. the IZH8 has a zoom lens from 8mm to 32 mm. Unless you are having the camera with in 10 foot of the target you should go with the zoom lens. The zoom will get plates at 100 foot away. As for the firmware the AMPR firmware must be ordered with the camera. There is no way to add it in later. Do your research befor pulling the trigger on one. Read the .PDF manuals and understand what you are getting into.

    Hi, I am not going to have Real Time viewing accessibility. I will just use the SD card to record say a week's data, then switch in a new cleared card each week so I can copy and backup the data. Will the recorded data have the same features you have shown here?

      It depends on the country and firmware version

      You can download from the card and it will cover up the oldest video. But depending on the amount of traffic will affect how many days you can record.

      they are cameras that can detect illegal passes, wrong way driving and etc.
      the models can be found here:
      www.hikvision.com/en/products_846.html
      and there are more models that are not included in the page above.
      i know this because that i am working at Hikvision representative,
      one of the benefits that i can work with this high end products of Hikvision, including models that aren't sold yet.

      I need this. I got a raspberry pi camera that I post vids of on here, but night shots of plates are hard. Now I'm leaning towards a dual camera system. One for plates the other for overall view.
