Just opened up the fob of my 2013 corolla and discovered that it actually uses a CR 2025 battery. If you're reading this, I'd recommend you open it up and check before buying a replacement battery
Should’ve seen the comment section before buying! So cr2016 should work but the problem is that it’s a lot thinner than the cr2032 or cr2025 that the Corolla comes with! The buttons don’t work because its not able to push it needs more pressure All you need to do is add a little bit of paper or thin cardboard in between the plastics seen at 00:58 and it should work!
As others have noted, my 2011 Corolla fob had a CR2025 battery inside upon opening it as well. For anyone interested, the main difference between the CR2016, CR2025, and CR2032 batteries is the thickness (1.6 versus 2.5 versus 3.2 mm, respectively) and the capacity (thicker = more current available and longer lifespan); all are 3V and have the same diameter. It seems like all of them fit in the fob without issue based on my own experience just now, so while it's probably safest to use the type that your fob has upon opening as the replacement battery, any of the three could work in a pinch.
Excellent! Thanks so much! I have a 2013 Corolla and it occurred to me a few days ago that eventually my key fob battery is going to die (surprised it's still working) and I don't want to get stuck in Timbuktu not knowing what to do. Now I feel confident to change the battery on my own!

I have the same issue…
Same here
Same for our 2010 Corolla… best to open it up first is great advice
Cr2016 didnt work
Same for a Corolla 2010. It uses CR 2025 battery
You have the only correct instructions to do this battery replacement.
Watched your video. Went to the hardware store and got a battery. Repair complete! Thank you FobBattery :)
Thanks for the excellent instructions. This was more complicated than I expected.
Comments below say use CR 2025 for a 2010 or 2013. Interesting. Maybe I will buy both to be sure! So happy to see this UA-cam!

Super helpful video. Double check your battery type, mine needed a 2025. It should tell you on the piece holding the battery. 😊

Thanks a ton for this! I just bought a 2013 corolla with a dead fob so I'm glad it seems pretty simple to change :D

This was very helpful. Thanks!
Thank you for your tutorial. It was very helpful!
quite clear, thank you
Battery for 2013 Corolla is cr2025 and also has a different assembly but is similar
I've gotten the round piece out but I'm having a lot of difficulty separating that clear case that covers the battery... it seems stuck
thank you!
Thank you
very good, Thank you
Thank you so very much, you rock!😁

I did everything that you showed me & my key still doesn’t work
Same thing is happening to me… except my fob was also different. My fob had a CR 2025 battery and not a 2016.
@@justinlearned2431 mine also had a CR 2025 battery and I'm also having the same issue. Did either of you get it working?
Changed batferies after 10 years with 2025 didn’t work either 😭
Easy Peasy !

This battery is going to be working longer than I will be alive.
My battery keeps popping out and doesn’t want to sit
