How to Make Multi cyclone Dust Collector for Vacuum Cleaner

- Learn how to make multi-cyclone dust collector using materials like PVC pipe, plastic bottle and plastic container.
The problem with ordinary vacuum cleaner is that if you clean huge amount of dust it will suffer from dust clogging within 10 minutes, and also is not that easy to empty it so often, even if you push it to collect more it could burn out. Ordinary vacuum cleaner required frequent filter change.
An alternative to this is to have an intermediate system between dust and the vacuum, and that is the Multi-cyclone dust collector.
Multi-cyclone dust collector efficiently collects 99% of the dust and throw it into the bucket below, leaving vacuum almost dust free and clean. So that there is no need for frequent filter change in vacuum cleaner and vacuum cleaner does not suffer dust clogging.
Great job especially when working with grinder cutting brickor marble to avoid much dust and keep the vacumn clean
just add water into collecting bucket, will trap even more most fine dust, but this build is weak, in case you blocked intake by hand, cyclone will "implode" sucks all bottles in and joints (glue) will crack...hot glue is not strong enough for that, especially if you're using powerful vacuum cleaner
Cut off the lower part of the bottles, the small diameter stops the dust from going down.
Cool. I wish I had something to keep my $99 A/C window unit filter from getting clogged so often.

Distribute the vacuum and intake to all the cyclone chambers in parallel, and angle the intake so debris rotates downward.
if you want to use serial all the waste collectors have to be separate from each other.

Hate to burst Dysons BUBBLE but their not the inventor of Cyclonic partical seperation nor its aplication in parrallel or cascaded..
But on a serious note if you where to have seperate chambers for each cyclone in the bucket you will get much better performance, you will find you are only using 1-2 of the chambers, the 1st intake and last where you apply the vaccum.
So, basically, you needed a vacuum to crate a vacuum. Brilliant.

What is better? If the cyclone dust separators are switched serial or parallel? Because I watch some videos where is showed If the cyclone separator gets large grain powder for a long time it couldn't separate and the dust goes to the vacuum cleaner, therefor some experimenters use double cyclone dust separators...
This should be possible to tweak even more to make more of the finer dust fall into the bucket... maybe by adding thien baffles

Only the 1st and 4th cyclone is work.
To work all cyclone need 4 independently closed dust boxes.

If you wish, instead 4 use only one cyclone, and just add recyclone to retain the fine particles.

В результате плохо работает 1й циклон и не работают остальные...
Да и ввод повыше надо . А невсередину бутылки . Ну так как идея и посмотреть. А в пылисосе Дайсона эти циклоны паралельно стоят . Защот дробления потока и повышения скорости в каждом циклоне и достигается феноменальная очистка в этих пылисосах

so many design flaws... painful to watch. and the music makes it even worse.
Could you elaborate on the design flaws? I'm an engineering student and currently researching about those cyclone devices. Since all the bottles connect to the same bucket there seems to be a short circuit of the air flow, but it seems to work.
@@jerome1lm It's been a year and I feel bad no one responded. Basically the bottle's shape was a flaw, the turbulence would cause enough problems alone but the 'clean air' discharge is too low allowing material to become fugitive in the 'clean air' discharge. If he'd put 4 separate boxes below there'd be an improvement or even install a rotary valve below each bottle. The end solution should have been to build one good cyclone and place the 'clean air' discharge at the appropriate height, he'd have collected 100% of the dust and had way less time into the build. Hope this helps.
@@jerome1lm There is a great deal of loss of pressure when you have more than two cyclones in series , The best solution would be two lots of two in series then hook these two banks up in parallel.
@@jerome1lm first flaw is the entrance of the air is way to much in the middle so the upper space of the Bottle is totally wasted.
second, the chaining of cyclones can only work if they are in series, so they have only 1 input + output. In the video he makes the mistake of combining the wastebucket so rendering the additional 3 cyclones useless. To fix this each cylone has to have its own Wastebucket.
Good idea just badly executed. Like others have said too much flow loss with four in series.

Я один заметил, что воздух с опилками заходит в первый циклон и появляется в 4м? При этом 2 и 3 без опилок? Вся проблема в том, что циклоны стоят на одном бункере. В бункере создаются вихри закрученные в одну сторону и создают друг другу сопротивление. Как шестеренки, которые пытаться вращать все в одну сторону.

Вместо двух последних циклонов сделай аква фильтр, я думаю тогда в пылесос не залетит мелкодисперсная пыль.

Бутылки неудачные,центробежка поднимает мусор вверх из-за зауженности.Обычно первая центрофуга большего размера,а остальные маленькие.Хорошо ребята подметили,про общую ёмкость где идет оттуда подсос для остальных фуг.Хорошо бы сделать тихий циклонный фильтр пыли для квартиры.Хотя есть мойки воздуха ,простые как три пластинки обдуваемые воздуом в чане с водой.Цена в эльдурадо 10 тыс.

No no No, you haven't grasped the idea of cyclonic separation have you?? You can't just make one like that...it's so inefficient. You need to work out the tangential interception point first......then the air outtake pipe is too long so is the top of your "cyclone", also with "root cyclone assemblys" you don't feed the fluid thorgh each Individual cyclone. The entire point of root cyclone technology is to increase suction due to less resistance in the path of fluid
so this is where you get your ideas dyson lol
Our original idea came from James Dyson, he saw a big cyclonic separator on the roof of a saw mill and went home to make a prototype. The first cyclonic vacuum was made using cardboard! Now our job as RDD engineers is to refine the idea, so we add more cyclones to increase airflow then make them smaller as the smaller the cone the higher air velocity we can achieve 😊
So you say "it's so inefficient"... You make an efficient one and show on youtube. Because a lot of hobbiest need something like this. At least Junkyard made something
You can make a very simple and efficient cyclonic separator with just one cyclone,no need to try replicate root cyclone technology.
It seems, you got the idea of junkyard wrong. Cyclonic seperator, seperates relatively big wood parts and send the dust to the dust bag (not everybody have Dyson). This dust cloggs the dust bag of vacuum cleaner very fast, so you have to change often. So, a solution which enables longer change of bag, will help hobby guys. Of course you know much better then most of us about cyclonic seperation, but we have to make a choice between best efficiency and longer time to pay for the dust bag. If you can tell us about this choice it will be much better, I think.

Кабель каналы нельзя было использовать ? И первая труба должна быть 110 , и ещё 2-3 2ух литровые бутылки . Гораздо эффективнее . И меньше потерь на всасывании.
