I hope you upload some more in the near future - recently discovered you and have been watching your last couple of months uploads as a before bedtime routine. Love your smart, engaged but chill vibes! Much love and thanks, you kick butt 🙏💪🐰
Just got my first hard mode win, managed it with stealth C with 2 charge lasers and hull beam (plus hacking and cloaking). Your videos have been so helpful but holy fuck am i bad at micro. I got a free anti-personel drone in sector 7 which i legit think saved me in phase 3. Would love to hear your takes on drones and drone control. It really feels like a ship dependent topic that has a lot of depth and i'd love a breakdown of whether or not leaning into drones are worth it or not.
Generally no. The best drone is probably the def drone 1. shooting down missiles, hacks, and boarding bots is really handy. People think it clashes to much with hacking for drone parts, but normally, if it's deployed you won't need to hack. Offensive drones are more of a support option. Able to get zoltan shields down quickly or have a combat drone help crack shields. But spending 2 reactor and a drone part for what is a basic laser 1 that you can't actually target a system is pretty bad. Zoltan C, Engi A and Engi C are all offensive drone ships, but the engi c normally transitions quickly into a weapon ships (hacking and dual lasers can do that). the Zoltan C and Engi A, you want to try and ion their weapons, to slow their offense and give your drone time to hit something of value. Again, one tried to transition those layouts into weapon ships, but it's trickier prospect that you have to be patient about. Selling the ion weapons and or drones for a laser/flak could result in a step back of your offense creating a death spiral. One good offensive drone option is getting a combat 1 on engi b (if no weapons are available) it can pop the shield bubble allowing the heavy 1 to land before the enemy has a chance to fire and also, deal a lot of damage, with the heavy ion suppressing shields.
Always love seeing the early sector deliberations on stealth C. Nice run!

Appreciate it. I don't play as much as i used to, buy try to get in at least a run a week.
@crowrevell2082 have you played this other game called Crying Suns? Supposedly similar but I've never tried it.
@@GiggleBlizzard I have not. I've just always found something to learn/improve in FTL and it's kept my focus.
Selling the halberd beam in the beginning hurt to see, but was the best choice. Good judgement
yeah, i really like halberd beam, particularly with 3 weapon set up, but stunner + weapon buffer gives a huge boost to the offense early.

Oops, forgot to say GG for the win. Stealth C is a tough ship. wild for that to be the first hard win.
