He sang every kind of music, but he caused a revolution in the 1950s with his new style ... The whole world followed. It was a cocktail of his poor childhood in the Hood ... Black Blues, White cowboy Western, White church and Black church.

Elvis was only 22 when he did this, & as he got older, his vocal cords got stronger with all the singing he was doing, & deepened as he matured. If you listen to Elvis singing in the 1950s & then in the 1960s, & finally in the 1970s, both his singing & talking voice deepened. At this age, in the 50s, he naturally had more physical energy than in the 1970s, but at the beginning of the 70s, he still had lots of energy, when performing songs like Suspicious Minds at the Las Vegas 1970 performance, & also Poke Salad Annie at the same Las Vegas concert. He was 6ft tall, so that’s a lot of height to be dancing all around the stage. This performance of Jailhouse Rock was done for the movie of the same name.

I was so in love with Elvis, when I was young, every Saturday arvo couldn't wait to watch another Elvis movie. Was broken hearted when he married Pricilla. I was 19yrs old in 1977 and was totally devastated like most everyone else in the world, when he died (way before he should have, same as MJ, doctor prescribed medication). He was and will always be "the King". 💞

"...feels like that's the type of music he should be making..." is EXACTLY why Elvis is in ALL 5 of the major music Halls of Fame. Rock and Roll, Country, Soul, Pop, Gospel, R&B...Elvis could do them all, and you would feel like that's what he's supposed to be singing. Despite the fans calling him the King of Rock n' Roll, Elvis didn't like that title. He always said Jesus is the only King. Elvis only won 3 Grammy Awards. All 3 were for his biggest love...GOSPEL. He won one for He Touched Me, and not 1, but 2 for different renditions of the same song How Great Thou Art.

This is early Elvis in one of his feature films. 1957. In the Ghetto was much later , a more mature Elvis . You are right though , no matter what genre of music Elvis sang his voice always sounded as if that should be his style. His voice was so versatile that’s why he was recognised as the master of Rock , Ballads, Country, Gospel. You name it , he could sing it like nobody else.

Young Elvis and older Elvis were cool in very different ways. If you want to see him at his peak, watch something from his 68 comeback special. He was in his early 30s and fierce! The If I Can Dream clip you watched already was from the same show. There's an acoustic section where he's wearing a black leather suit. Tryin To Get To You is the best clip, imo.

Elvis was the best friend i ever had in my life we met when i was a teenager he only wanted a real true friend that didn't want anything from him. We were friends for 10 yrs. up until his death he asked nothing of me and i asked nothing of him. Elvis didn't make friend easily because he knew people just wanted something from him. i will love and miss my friend always and forever i walk past Graceland everyday sometimes i go in they know me there lol... Elvis was a flesh and blood man. He was not a super hero like most fans made him out to be Elvis knew he was dying for some time a few days before his death we had a short conversation. He said kiddo everything will be ok and i said no E. nothing will ever be ok again. That was the last day i saw my friend alive. The funeral was a blur and that day was one of the most heart breaking day of my life. I will love and miss E. always. love to you from Memphis Tn. fye the instruments were cardboard cutouts not real love your reactions you are so fun. you stopped it to soon you cut off the best part.

Elvis’s voice, when analysed, was a perfect baritone and he had perfect pitch, able to cover 3 octaves , apparently extremely unusual. He could even have been an opera singer. Do listen to his gospel songs, like “ How great thou art” and “ You’ll never walk alone”. He won Grammies for his gospel music. 👌🕺💕

One of my all time favorite performances of his is from the movie "King Creole" it's the song "Trouble", I was just watching it again the other day and realized he was basically telling the guy who made him get up on stage to prove he could sing, to go F*** himself, his body language was crazy, you have to watch it. And his 68 come back special was epic, a must watch.

In this movie Elvis was only in his 20's. "In The Ghetto" he was in his 30's. His voice matured a lot. He was a young man from Tupelo< Mississippi, loved to sing in the black churches. He was a sweet, generous man, of whom a lot of people took advantage. Endless songs to hear. Elvis was the greatest! If you want to hear some great soul music, listen to the Righteous Brothers. Great duo, dubbed "Blue Eyed Soul" by radio DJ's. Bobbys live solo of Unchained Melody: on the Andy Williams Show in 1965. And "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling by both brothers. Greatest you'll ever hear! And there were so many. They were great friends with Elvis. These guys will blow you away!
