Because of Scott Martin , i have come to love the spinnerbait because last year in 2021 at the end of september i threw out a spinnerbait and got bait bait fish to rise near the surface , so i went out and bought more spinnerbaits. I feel I have come to Learn so much just by watching scott martin then i ever could in a school classroom about fishing.
Your the man Scott! I’ve learned a lot from you in the past yr! And can’t wait to learn more! By far my favorite angler out their. I hope your days to come are truly blessed!
Love this video! I think the back to basics is a great idea! Helps old timers dial back in their techniques and helps new anglers learn everything about the techniques that work that we have spent a lifetime learning! Whatever kind of fisherman you are, we are all trying to catch fish and be successful. It’s always fun to fish but way better catching FISH!
Yet another great video on the SMC channel. I can’t wait for the next one. Hope you guys are all safe down there this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Martin family as Elsa bares down on West Florida.
Once again you've nailed it! The basics are essential to perform or succeed with any particular activity, but for those of us that are self taught these vids break it down so we can understand. Kick some arse this week on Champlain.
Great video Scott! I love crank baits. They are awesome and work really well. This videos are so awesome. Please keep up the teaching! It really really helps people like us. God bless you and the family. Praying for a win on the next tournament!!! 🙏🙌🙌
Love back to basics ! Hungry people are more in the Zone than those that think they can just float by because of Ego , sponsor,s Money and free stuff ! Get back in the game by pulling up your old school self ! Boom !
I found some P-Line tactical the other day picked up some 10 and 15. I’m loving it caught a 33 lbs flathead on the 15. Love the your channel ! Thx Scott
Thanks for the tips I just got some more crank baits so I can use some more tips. Good luck in your final 2 tournaments I hope you win one of them. I will be watching the tournaments on bassmaster live. See you in the next video good luck.
Awesome detail as far as line size and rod length. I always thought dacron line and a 5' pistol grip would getter done... 😆 Love the channel Mr Scott, and all your family does for the sport!
Good stuff sir...my biggest smallie came cranking at night believe it or not and with the recon..great tips regarding the line size. Good luck on Champlain!
I love learning about fishing from Scott and The Legends. I am stuck on the bank still looking for my first bass. I feel like giving up but I still try. The better half says she will kill me if I buy one more plastic or lure..lol.
Got to get me that decked system for my truck. Thanks for the video dude! How about that 12 lb monster of a bass your dad caught huh!?! Dudes a legend!
Awesome Vid…. Thanks for the tips. It’s nice to know the rods, And line size. I think a lot of peeps, me included. Shy away from the smaller line. Now go catch some Donks, and hopefully you can get those flip flops on, when you’re holding up that blue trophy!!! 👊🏻
Scott really enjoy your videos watch when ever i can sometimes twice is there a way you could do a west coast specific video for us Cali boys thanks good luck in New York
I usually use 15lb line on all my crankbait on a 7' Heavy with a 6:8.1 and with top water 20lb braid on a 7' MH with a 7:1.1. I'm just having a problem figuring out the best way to rig up a Mag Draft freestyle 6"
If you dont mind me asking around what times are your weigh ins times in theses tournaments lake Champlain will be my first time going to any tournament
If it's further along than what you had hoped on champlain, what's the plan, go for the fish that are transitioning off bed's and go for numbers or keep looking for fat bedders? Tough choices !
The lake near me is a fairly small community lake that I fish from my kayak. For the first time in the six years that I've fished it there has been an absolutely mental crankbait bite. I've probably pulled a crankbait through every cubic inch of water there this summer and have caught a ton of fish. I think crankbaits-and especially big ones-can be intimidating for newer anglers. They can be tiring, and people are afraid of losing them. The right equipment goes a long way towards solving both of these problems. I'm also a big fan of short shank EWGs. I change them out on all of the crankbaits I buy if they don't already come with them. Many people protest that crankbaits lose fish. There's no doubt I lose far fewer with the right hooks. Also I make my baits go deeper by kneeling and reeling. On super deep divers, be careful with this because if they go too deep, the water pressure can break them. But have fun. :) Edit: Also, always have some silent crankbaits on hand. I mostly fish silent ones, and keep rattling ones on hand for when those aren't working. Usually it's the other way around on highly pressured water.
With some crankbaits costing a lot.we cant afford to lose a single one and some are a work of art..solution ?....Sonnnnnnn..replace the front treble with a double hook (a red one if possible) those googans look awesome..thanks for the info scott ( mr bass professor 2) 🚤✌
I don't have a lot of confidence with crankbaits.. My problem is I keep hooking them in the bottom lip.. I lost a couple monster smallies last fall because of that..
Great tips but you need to put the camera on a tripod instead of wobbling around. Better still is 2 different cameras with one zoomed in and one with everything in shot.

It was a stud!
@@ScottMartinChallenge no doubt
Great vid👍
I use 10 Pound Trilene Extra Smooth. For my KVD Regular size cranks I think they get down to 8 foot? 7’1 Medium action bass x rod.
Any recommendations on which rod or reel to get at your marina ?
Thanks for the knowledge..
Scott what is the difference in using a heavy flipping hook and a heavy wire EWG hook when flipping?
Awesome Vid…. Thanks for the tips. It’s nice to know the rods, And line size. I think a lot of peeps, me included. Shy away from the smaller line. Now go catch some Donks, and hopefully you can get those flip flops on, when you’re holding up that blue trophy!!! 👊🏻
Been having great luck with ripping a lipless thru slight cover
Finally new video!!
Imma start taking notes
Thanks for the tips sir
Hey Scott will you be fishing the ICAST Cup in Orlando?..just wondering because I will be and hoping to get onboard =]
Can you help I have a lot of hydra grass in my lake what can do to catch bass
You still gotta give carp fishing with rod and reel a try! Keep up the hard work and tight linZ🤙🎣
Scott really enjoy your videos watch when ever i can sometimes twice is there a way you could do a west coast specific video for us Cali boys thanks good luck in New York
Great video Scott!!
Always good stuff thanks for the tips
👊🏼👊🏼
Wow a lot info thanks a lot BANG!!!
Hey Scott big fan. How you doing with tropical storm Elsa. I live near Tampa so not getting hot yet but you know the calm before the storm.
I usually use 15lb line on all my crankbait on a 7' Heavy with a 6:8.1 and with top water 20lb braid on a 7' MH with a 7:1.1. I'm just having a problem figuring out the best way to rig up a Mag Draft freestyle 6"
My daughter got her first bass in a mini banger . I have a question Scott is there a big difference between regular banger and flat banger ?
Any advice on lipless crank baits
Hey Scott I’m fishing a tournament at lake of the Ozarks any baits that you recommend
If you dont mind me asking around what times are your weigh ins times in theses tournaments lake Champlain will be my first time going to any tournament
Check out BASS master elite series lake Champlain all times are on there
Starting at 3:00 each day
But if I would have done that I would have known it was moved to NY and I'm in VT lol
Top water small mouth at Champlain is getting closer and closer scott! Also got your flogger for SLR? lol
Appreciate the tips bromigo 😁👍🏼
👍🏼👍🏼
I have slx 7.2 7” mh 30 Braid with 12 pound liter with that be sufficient with the set up
Each bait needs a different pole, line and reel ?
So funny... Jimmy Houston just did a crankbait video today too.... must be the thing to throw lol
Favorite told me the 7’11” was discontinued…is the correct?
Thank you for the advice
👊🏼🔥
king scott
Hey Scott im fishing a tournament on twin buttes reservoir, any tips?

Thanks
Maybe next time I'm not haveing a good day of fishing I'll throw my fishing pole and be like Scott thanks buddy..
Another great video….

Got them hooks you brag about. And love them.
Great advice, line dia key
i really needed this vid 🤣😭
Go smash em!
I throw a square bill on mono it dont get hung near as much
Lovin it🔥🔥👌🏼
🔥🔥

I like them 👍
A little confused...wouldn't a higher gear ratio be less work than a lower gear ratio?
lower gear ratio gives you more torque. on the real deep diving crank baits it feels like your always reeling in a fish
I have a question do fisherman have to only use their sponsors or is it just the professional thing, what if a company doesn’t have a certain Lure
Yeah sorta comes with the territory of being sponsored. You can use other baits......you just don't talk about them 😏🤣
Haven’t had a great crankbait bite in a long time. Hope that changes
Strike king make good deep cranks, rapala for 6-10 ft and boo yah for lipless
I don't have a lot of confidence with crankbaits.. My problem is I keep hooking them in the bottom lip.. I lost a couple monster smallies last fall because of that..
Great tips but you need to put the camera on a tripod instead of wobbling around. Better still is 2 different cameras with one zoomed in and one with everything in shot.
It's funny. I've been a Texas riggin fool for over 40 years but, with the exception of a lipless, I've never caught a Bass on a crankbait!!
Scott instead of instantly reading comments you need to let the people watch the video and ask questions about the video you know.(just a suggestion)
