I'm suspicious if it is Laith, if it was Laith then he would probably start talking about the Angevin Empire and Henry II when he said that Portugal is allied to England
Tripoli is one of those nations that normally gets zero attention from the EU4 community. I'm not sure I've ever seen a streamer play as them. Glad to see them come up. Lovely map color.
Yea for a nation that changed hands so many times and is located in a region where its cities and people have been relevent in mediterranean/european history since at least the dawn of the bronze age, they really dont get enough love (though admittedly theyre not the best in the game or anything, but the berber ideas arent bad and recreating the rise of the sea peoples by going for pirate raids in the mediterranean is always fun)
Hey Hawk, great video, just a quick tip: You can shiftclick in the peacescreen to get the max amount of money they'd accept or that's possible. (I see you going over and clicking to go below 100 WS again and it's doing my head in xD)
@ 14:00 from my experience the ai will pay debt before it's due, when I send them a gift that covers their entire debt they'll *usually* pay it all off immediately
Awesome video, as always. If you didn't know. You can shift left click the + money button in a peace deal and it will auto max it up to 100 warscore, saving needing to manually lower it back to 100%
@0:30 what if there is more than one country you can release a nation from but atleast two have the same amount of most provinces that it can be released from? Would you choose most development, or aim for whichever woukd be easier to declare indipendence from?
As historically Wales tried to create relations with the Pope in hopes to protect them from the English, this time I think you should take a more hands on approach by conquering Rome
Problem is to make overlord not exist while playing tall, I guess with Wales could pop out other releasables or make a vassal eat it all, but hard to do.
For Wales, maybe a little tribute to the Ottawa Welshman. So, colonise and have a canadian colony and have the city of Ottawa for capital or somethong like that. Appreciate the good work.
‘Weasel wales vassal lord’. Weasels are famously tall standing on their back legs. This will be your challenge: tall Wales with a large boogle (Collective nouns for a group of weasels include boogle, gang, pack and confusion.) Another fun weasel fact: Britain’s smallest carnivore species! Very appropriate for your challenge.
Red Hawk, can you change up the goals for the different episodes of Releaseables? It becomes some times a bit boring if you only go for becomming a Great Power. Maybe you can go for some Achievements or set goals that suit to the nation like in A to Z.
as wales subjugate/conquer at least one other nation that traditionally has a dragon on its flag (bhutan, qing, etc. galicia apparently had one for a while)
A good first idea group would be exploration. If you run out of land to the west to conquer or cannot beat the Mamluks you could expand south of Fezzan. You could also go to West Africa and the Americas. If Naples was independent, you could reach the Adriatic, especially if you could fight Aragon early for Sicily. Other than that, you expanded coring range you could get a war with Genoa after Shadow kingdom/them being an ally of an enemy. In the peace deal take Cafa. Being a Muslim minor power in the region offers a cool alternative vs christian. Instead of scheming to be the emperor and tiptoeing around ae, you ally Ottomans and just raid the Mediterranean. You could do similar things with crimea.
i think fezan and/or tunis has a mission or event that will auto-colonize the desert region in central africa for you and allow you to expand into central africa as a workaround for a situation like this. there's also one for morocco and i think the other western african powers for the west african equivalent province. i don't remember the requirements though, so i don't know if it would have actually been viable to release them as a vassal and feed them enough to trigger it.
I believe it can also happen from the other side if a nation like mali manages to divert its disasters, but i think songhai is usually the most common of the nations to colonize it from the south in my experience. But yea the game expects you to form a nation like tunis, morocco, etc when you play as tripoli before worrying about going south
Hi very cool video, i think tripoli is a very cool nation, would love it if they had some unique flavor but thank god you can have lots of fun as them even if they dont! Also, why didnt you just dishonor ottos call to arms vs AQ? Pretty sure you could have beaten up the Memeluks 1v1
because he didnt know if the ottomans were gonna take land from the mamluks, so he wanted to at least join in and siege the mamluk provinces himself so that if any of the good provinces were taken theyd be gifted to him instead
If you are going to do more Vic 3 content, start the Vic 3 Releasable channgeage with Wales. Otherwise do the Home and Away Achievement that Wales has where you got to control the 5 capitals of 6 nation counties. These are England, Scotland, France and the Papal States.
Portugal got that uncolonized province in North Africa (Tuat I think) via decision - you can get that one and the one south of Fezzan that way. I think you just need to core the adjacent provinces.
why are the thumbnails so clickbaitey in EU4 videos. Not just with the country sizes but also the historic figure in the thumbnail is turkish and has no relation to Tunis xd

Since the most whale hunting happend in Norway, Iceland and Japan, you should try and conquers those places
use the strategy of growing your hair out
do their achievement pls
the achievement
Toxic af tell Mehmet to call me later 🤣
Laith you really gotta give back the channel to Hawk, I know the bit was good on April Fools but it's been almost a month
I'm suspicious if it is Laith, if it was Laith then he would probably start talking about the Angevin Empire and Henry II when he said that Portugal is allied to England
@@dieidiottenclearly is laith because he’s playing Tunis again
I think you should try to play as ming vassal because ming got nerf hard and chinese warlord get a new mission tree from domination dlc
Agree, ming constantly on 0 manpower and on like 30k troops by the 1500s
Since Wales and sheep go hand in hoof maybe you can aim for the Baa Baa Black Sheep achievement and be the leading producer of wool :)
Or conquer Aq Qoyunlu and Qara Qoyunlu with them.

Why is Mahmud II on the thumbnail?
My thoughts exactly
He’s chill
Real question
Mahmud is vibing
because he clutched up for his homeboys in tripoli, taking the front lines in the seige on cairo while hawk's army retreated
20:00 Seeing him transfer trade to Genoa hurts me deeply.
no wonder he had no trade income

Been waiting for Wales since the beginning, try forming Angevin empire lol

Sultan Mahmut the Second in the cover photo?
Massive respect for hawk

This might sound silly, but I think it would be fun seeing you do a "tall" release run. No particular region.
Problem is to make overlord not exist while playing tall, I guess with Wales could pop out other releasables or make a vassal eat it all, but hard to do.

Blue Portugal messes with my brain every time
As Wales conquer Japan to stop whale hunting
20:55 - Especially since they nerfed piety gain this patch, you no longer gain or lose piety from declaring wars.....
As wales, get the Home and Away achievement (it wasn’t easy when I did it so good luck)
Red Hawk, can you change up the goals for the different episodes of Releaseables? It becomes some times a bit boring if you only go for becomming a Great Power. Maybe you can go for some Achievements or set goals that suit to the nation like in A to Z.
Leading producer of naval supplies as wales
I’ve found that if you send the ai a gift a little larger than their total debt, they’ll usually pay it all off in a couple months
mahmud ii on the thumbnail makes no sense but love to see him
makes perfect sense, mahmud II personally sieged down cairo for hawk in this video and he needed the ottomans help the entire campaign😭 mahmud carried
as wales subjugate/conquer at least one other nation that traditionally has a dragon on its flag (bhutan, qing, etc. galicia apparently had one for a while)

As Wales own X amount of fish producing provinces?
You're gonna do a multiplayer kinda thing with the Ming vassals(?)
yo bro you are playing Tripoli but you put Ottoman Padishah in thubmnail damn
Cause mahmud II and the ottomans carried him lmao, they were his only ally the whole game and he pretty much never declared war without their help
Why is Mahmud II in the thumbnail lol
Why there is photo of mahmud the second (an ottoman sultan)?
As Wales take the entirety of the British Isles and Brittany to free the Celts from the tyrrany of the English "superiority"

Why are you always changing your naval doctrine when your first government reform also allows you to raid coasts?
Where can I found this wheel ?
I know it is not your idea for continuing campaigns, but it would be nice if you could continue this Tripolitanian game
