Footage looks amazing mate! The people who don't like the out of focus halos are just too in love with the modern, clean, crispy, hermetic and fake look and they forget that life is beautiful because it has imperfections!

It makes me laugh because lots of shooters absolutely obsess over sharpness, but once they have it they're buying $700 tinted diffusion filters to take it away again because oversharp footage screams video and they want the "film look." You get the same thing from this lens for $50. Buying those filters to tame the sharpness down is really the long way around the barn. Fun fact: Remember the falling-in-love sequence from "Tom Jones"? They got that dreamy effect with a piece of netting off an old hat.

Absolutely true. Old Pentax lenses are Gold. I recently acquired a 400-600mm Reflex Zoom by Pentax. It's 3-4 decades old. It's in perfect condition and takes gorgeous pictures that are not "too sharp" - more realistic than what I get with modern lenses. It also gives me the joy of manual focusing that requires skill and effort - that's how I started photography as a teenager/young adult of the late 20th century.

My dad gave me his camera gear years ago, which included three super taks (35, 50, and 120). I usually shoot black and white film, but this video has inspired me to load it up with color film for that gorgeous warmth from the yellowed lens! Beautiful video… Thank you for sharing this project!

Depends on the kind of radiation (alpha, beta, gamma?), its strength and distance, and how well the film is shielded by the metal shutter and body. Since these lenses are said to be legendary, there seem to be no serious problems... Any geiger counter will tell you how radioactive they are.

Intact things like this or uranium glassware or ceramics should be safe (tho the glassware and ceramics can be quite a bit more radioactive than this.) You should however be careful if it breaks, if you notice a crack you should probably put it in a sealed plastic bag to contain any dust if it cracks more. Then contact someone who knows more than me to find out how to dispose of it.
Again as long as it is intact and you are careful to keep it intact it should be fine. (Might want to keep it out of reach of small children however to minimize the risk of it for example being dropped but I feel like this goes for all lenses as they are not exactly cheap things.)

Most old lenses in the common mounts (m39, m42, Pentax, Nikon, canon fd, etc.) cover full frame, that was the common film format. (There are a few exceptions, like some Russian cinema lenses with m42 lenses with super16 or super35 coverage. But those are very rare exceptions)
“Small sensor” film lenses typically look weird and come in mounts like C-mount, D-mount, PL, arri.
