The way I see it, full stealth is a kind of thing you do when you wanna see how well you know the game, not how you’re supposed to play, but a fun way to keep it interesting. (At least because I didn’t used to attempt full stealth until much recently)
@@redfoxrpg If my dumbass can blast through the game with no alerts my first fucking playthrough then its not exactly a coveted challenge. I dont understand why people are so anal about you not going for perfect stealth.
In hindsight, yeah, I probably could’ve made it max available rank and just edited it down to only a silencer with the gunsmith, but I definitely liked that I went with the one star this time around for the challenge’s sake
During the first skulls encounter you can sneak past them by waiting for them to get to the middle of the bridge, pass them on the right ,and put Miller in the dumpster making him invincible even if the skulls find him, allowing you to fight them.
Wtf I have never seen that cutscene. Now I gotta find it n see what it says. This game truly is special. I love that you worked the "medicine" in, but not using a blade is kinda breaking my heart. Edit like 20 seconds later: jeeeesus never m-friggin-mind. Just use the enemy's blades. Man, this guy's an animal. A fox. A Grey Fox!
It does indeed, but 1) I think they have to be unconscious and 2) I tried to use it as sparingly as possible since Gray Fox didn’t have extraction tools and people typically bitch when I use them lol
Idea: D-Walker run. You must always be on D-Walker (or, because of mission 1, use a weapon you can make D-Walker use such as the wu pistol). I know it isn’t character based but don’t that sound cool?
@@redfoxrpg Follow-Up for further detail (if you haven't started yet idk) Feel free to use as many upgrades as you want. Max everything out, use the Fulton ballista, whatever. I found the best luck using the gatling gun against the Skulls if that is of interest. This should be great for going loud. Any uniforms allowed, aside from Parasite Suit. You can have Walker on Recon and go stealthy with the Wu (again, any amount of r&d you want [unless what you want is to lowball it]). And if you credit me in the video, say my name with the shittiest russian accent possible.
I'd love to see a playthrough as The End- Tranquiliser snipers only, Quiet as an optional buddy cause she could act as his pet parrot to scout areas, prone only once you hit enemy outposts due to his ability to stay in one prone position without moving for days, have to wear the suitable camoflauge for the terrain/time of day (blue urban for night, desert fox for sand etc), pentazimin and acceleramin acceptable to further represent his sniper skills and finally stealth camo due to his ability to blend in anywhere no matter the time of day. Feel free to edit any of these rules if you do decide to run it, and i hope you'll consider this run!
Absolutely, but with Kojima gone, I’m not sure if we’ll get any new MG stories unless he comes back, especially after MG Survive. Guess it depends on the success of Delta
Hey redfox fantastic job as always♥️ I have a couple ideas for more mgs videos they have mods for the game and one of them is an OSP (on sight procurement) that would be interesting
The model wearing gray fox’s suit is still frank just the shadow makes it look like the bandana, you and see what I mean if you run at night using grayfox. And if you don’t feel like testing (The light from the lightning with show franks full face and the “shadow bandana” will be gone
But the eye is wrong too, Frank’s right eye is milky in MGS1, you can see it in the OG model and the Twin Snakes model, but in MGSV, both of his eyes are normal and the same color
Can you beat MGSV as Venom Snake? (Aka, The Canon way) Weapons and Equipment: a Level 1 AM-MRS 4: as it's seen in multiple cutscenes and you start with it by default A level 1 (Or 2, as the only difference is that it has a suppressor) AM D114: as it's seen in multiple cutscenes. (Don't take my little thing about level 3 am-d114 before this edit I just made, the level 1 still appears in cutscenes before, after, and during mission 43 while the level 3 is just in gameplay of mission 43. So use only the Level 1/2 AM D114. A Level 1 M2000D. Quiets signature weapon is the wicked butterfly, which is supposed to be a modified Renov. In mission 11, in the segment where Quiet is in the helicopter with you and she takes down the jet, she for some reason has an M2000D instead of the Wicked Butterfly (I Checked, and she has the wicked butterfly in the boss fight, not just after she becomes a buddy.) This is presumably Venom's rifle, and she's just using it because she doesn't have her own rifle. Killer Bee/CGM-25 (Only after mission 19), After mission 6 you are given a tape that explains that the R&D team took apart the honey bee and could be able to replicate the homing technology. However, in a first playthrough of a game, you can't actually create the homing launchers until Mission 19, when extracting one of the prisoners. Also, you have to use that Level 1 Grom 11 that quiet gives you against the tanks in A Quiet Exit. C4: Mention in a couple of codec calls and is required to stealth Mission 13. Hand Grenades: You start with it by default, so it wouldn't be wrong to assume Venom would use it. NVG: Same as Hand Grenades Magazine: Same as NVG and Grenades Cardboard Box: THe game forces you to make it in Mission 2. Other Stuff: You can use whatever buddy you want, but it'd make the most sense to stick to Quiet in mission 15 and above. If you do use Quiet, you can only have her use Wicked Butterfly You have to beat the missions normally, no cheese methods of any kind. (Helicopter and Artillery Support are allowed though, but only in situations where you have caused an alert.) You can't restart a mission if a strategy you made doesn't work out or if you got caught, Venom didn't have that option. And Most Importantly, Have Fun with it!
Dunno if you’re still interested in making metal gear content but have you considered a playthrough as the boss? Only use a female staff member and the boss’ sneaking suit, custom gun to resemble the patriot, no combat alerts,d horse, infinity bandana, and whatever else I can’t think of that she had access to. Could be fun!
I got a Skyrim challenge run coming up next, and then you guys get Cyberpunk 2077 PL as Adam Jensen (and from there, I’ll do that poll to see who I do next for Cyberpunk)
Idk if it’s really worth doing but MGS5 as the boss or Eva Given I only discovered last year that you can actually get female soldiers in the single player and the boss and Eva have pretty nice dlc outfits
Having reflex mode on doesn't make the challenge seem as impressive, I don't personally care you can do whatever you want, but I can see why others may be less enthused about it. The slow-mo is fun, I like it, but if you're comfortable with how the game functions it absolutely will let you breeze through all of it without even netting an alert. Despite your sticking to reflex though, I see times where you just don't make the most use of it? 14:08 is an example of a time you looked at him and seemingly looked away, there is a cut, but why did you get an alert there? Did you not shoot him? You've shown throughout that killing is acceptable. Just curiosity.
Sometimes I wouldn’t kill them because I was trying not to use my gun as much as possible, but in that specific instance, it was because the guy that spotted me was fully decked in ballistic armor and a helmet, and it was much easier to just use Gray Fox’s super speed to just dip lol
@@redfoxrpg I suppose that's fair enough. Otherwise you could've shot him in the leg a time or two, usually leg staggers can give you a long enough window for an approaching CQC. Still using the gun, but for a non-lethal purpose.
Gray Fox's my fav character of the entire series, Jetstream Sam was close second (even with his badass theme). He's one of the many characters that introduced me more to the theme of rivalries, and how the Ninja Gray Fox works as perfect sneaking rival to Snake as Samurai Sam's slice-n-dice rival to Raiden. (Hell, they both share one voice line "Hurt me more"). Thanks for making this video, enjoyed your playthrough.
@redfoxrpg Allow me to make it a little easier for you. Equipment: Battle dress on all missions Cgm 25 as substitute for tentacle missles A Submachine gun of your choice And CQC as substitute for tentacle choke and dual HF blades when fighting skulls. Bombardments are available thanks to Vamp flying the Harrier 2
Since you're using Portable Ops equipment and not just mgs1, I think you should have been allowed to use of D-Walker (And any of the Walker Gears) since Gray Fox pilots Metal Gear D in Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. It would definitely made up for him not having much equipment on his own.
While the Solid and GrayFox skins are funny with the ps1 graphics, for me they break the inmersion and i never use them, i wish they had realistic graphics like the rest of the game.
Oh! I got a little idea! You should do a video "Can You Beat Metal Gear Solid V as the worst Combat Unit Character?" or whatever its called, it may add some challenge definitally, but its something to do (For me the worst Combat Unit Character is like Grizzly Hedgehog?)
Lmaoooo it’s cool, I set it to release last night, I was asleep when it went up, just trying to catch everyone’s morning, it’ll also go up in the Discord later today
Okay, beat MGSV as Venom Snake. Only the am mrs 4 and wu s pistol Sneaking suit or olive drab uniform Other equipment can be what you consider was definitely used by venom This is one of the hardest challenges to come up with (the equipment) Also, you can use high grade equipment, no need to use grade 1 only
Aw thanks homie, that means a lot to me, sometimes I get caught up in trying to do it the "right" way, so I'm really glad to know that the fun of it is the enjoyable part even for you guys!
I thought of a can you beat MGSV as a Pokémon trainer you can only use soldiers you Fulton and the gear that they would have on them so if a soldier has night vision you get to use night vision or if you Fulton a heavy unit you can use battle dress

Old snake run where you have to extract every soldier with perfect stealth and the black ocelot suit on at all times
@@cetc822 old Snake run could be cool
@@redfoxrpg you have to extract everyone by helicopter like the befriending enemies in mgs4
The way I see it, full stealth is a kind of thing you do when you wanna see how well you know the game, not how you’re supposed to play, but a fun way to keep it interesting. (At least because I didn’t used to attempt full stealth until much recently)
People don't blow s**t up in MGSV? Tf is the fun in that?!
EXACTLY! Sure half of the game is the amazing stealth gameplay, but come on, there’s a bombardment option and rocket launchers for a reason people!
@@redfoxrpg If my dumbass can blast through the game with no alerts my first fucking playthrough then its not exactly a coveted challenge. I dont understand why people are so anal about you not going for perfect stealth.
Your Ze'ev doesn't have to be only ome star. You can customize it to where it only has the suppressor if you wanted to for a minor boost.
I’ll have to try this in the future, that sounds equal parts useful as it is hilarious
"...I...I...I'm losing myself" got me giggling
Great job boss that’s why you’re the best. Maybe when you come back you could do a challenge as Liquid

“A cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal!” Thanks fam, glad it hits!
The wormhole allows you to extract kids
It does indeed, but 1) I think they have to be unconscious and 2) I tried to use it as sparingly as possible since Gray Fox didn’t have extraction tools and people typically bitch when I use them lol

you'd need mods but i'm curious to see a run of the entire game as Quiet and Ocelot.
I’m on Xbox, so I can’t use mods, but people have asked for them so I still plan to try somehow
Idea: D-Walker run. You must always be on D-Walker (or, because of mission 1, use a weapon you can make D-Walker use such as the wu pistol).
I know it isn’t character based but don’t that sound cool?
@@ViktorPripyat I’ll definitely do a D-Walker run one day
@@redfoxrpg Follow-Up for further detail (if you haven't started yet idk) Feel free to use as many upgrades as you want.
I personally love reflex mode, it makes me feel like a cowboy for some reason. 😅
@@TheTacosKey same, I think it’s fun
I'd love to see a playthrough as The End- Tranquiliser snipers only,
Quiet as an optional buddy cause she could act as his pet parrot to scout areas, prone only once you hit enemy outposts due to his ability to stay in one prone position without moving for days, have to wear the suitable camoflauge for the terrain/time of day (blue urban for night, desert fox for sand etc), pentazimin and acceleramin acceptable to further represent his sniper skills and finally stealth camo due to his ability to blend in anywhere no matter the time of day. Feel free to edit any of these rules if you do decide to run it, and i hope you'll consider this run!
I’d love to do this run, thanks for the ruleset!

Gray fox death in mgs1 was the saddest death

@@redfoxrpg also you could maybe try to get a woman similar to the boss
Can you beat MGSV as Venom Snake? (Aka, The Canon way)
Weapons and Equipment:
a Level 1 AM-MRS 4: as it's seen in multiple cutscenes and you start with it by default
A level 1 (Or 2, as the only difference is that it has a suppressor) AM D114: as it's seen in multiple cutscenes.
NVG: Same as Hand Grenades
Magazine: Same as NVG and Grenades
Cardboard Box: THe game forces you to make it in Mission 2.
Other Stuff:
You can use whatever buddy you want, but it'd make the most sense to stick to Quiet in mission 15 and above.
If you do use Quiet, you can only have her use Wicked Butterfly
You have to beat the missions normally, no cheese methods of any kind. (Helicopter and Artillery Support are allowed though, but only in situations where you have caused an alert.)
You can't restart a mission if a strategy you made doesn't work out or if you got caught, Venom didn't have that option.
And Most Importantly, Have Fun with it!
Someone suggested this once, but this is incredibly in depth for the rules! Will do this
Dunno if you’re still interested in making metal gear content but have you considered a playthrough as the boss? Only use a female staff member and the boss’ sneaking suit, custom gun to resemble the patriot, no combat alerts,d horse, infinity bandana, and whatever else I can’t think of that she had access to. Could be fun!
@@Ayo_Mir I’ll get back to it eventually, and a Boss run is fairly highly requested, so I’ll *have* to do that at some point lol

@@prodin_20 yeah, I had forgotten, that’s how you get the Furicorn skin for D Horse

That punch… I remember it…
Idk if it’s really worth doing but MGS5 as the boss or Eva
Given I only discovered last year that you can actually get female soldiers in the single player and the boss and Eva have pretty nice dlc outfits
Oh 100%, those suggestions have a surprisingly dedicated following, I get both suggestions fairly often so I’m definitely doing them
Having reflex mode on doesn't make the challenge seem as impressive, I don't personally care you can do whatever you want, but I can see why others may be less enthused about it.
Still using the gun, but for a non-lethal purpose.
technically gray fox could use the walker gear since it is like a smaller metal gear D and the mines, since he uses it his boss fight from MG2
I didn't want to use it this time around because I plan to do a Walker Gear only run in the future, but you're absolutely right

Battle dress on all missions
Cgm 25 as substitute for tentacle missles
A Submachine gun of your choice
And CQC as substitute for tentacle choke and dual HF blades when fighting skulls.
True, but I liked how limited it was because it made it more challenging and besides, I’ll do a D Walker only challenge one of these days lol
