Hi Kay. A great episode. Love the new pattern you did for a sock. I might venture out into doing a pattern on the socks when I have made a few vanilla ones first I think. I am onto my very 1st 2nd sock. I haven't done alot of knitting though as been busy with crocheting some beanies for my son and his girlfriend this week so I could post them before the weekend. Lilly's cardigan is looking lovely. So nice of you to gift a blanket for a lady at your church. I love gifting things to people I have made and seeing their reaction. I love the antique dresser you purchased as well. Hope you enjoy your extended family visiting this week. Take care.
Thats's perfect! If the transition row not being there brings you good memories, then I think its great that you did not rip it out and fix it. Temperature blankets are all about documenting your year after all.

Thank you for this wonderful podcast. I too can hardly wait to give my gifts. One fall, I knit a hooded cardigan for each of my 2 sisters. Ended up giving them early. But that way they got to wear them at Thanksgiving!

I am the same with gift-giving. I get too excited and want to give to the recipients right away. I know have already said this but I love your patriotic socks!! My oldest son introduced me to The Bear right before season 2 was released so as soon as I finished Season 1 I could not wait to watch the next season. I have added Shameless to my watchlist because you and my son both make it sound really good!

What a beautiful dresser. Boy they sure don't make things like they used to. I have my Dad's bedroom set that was built in a factory in the town we lived in out of hard rock maple. It's well over 70 years old and is still going strong. The bureau has such nice deep drawers and is heavy as all get out. I have to take all the drawers out just to slide it. I do love it.
As always-such gorgeous projects you're working on and have finished. I have yarn set aside for another pair of Heel Toe Do Si Do socks. It's such a fun pattern to knit and so perfect for self striping yarn.
Kay, I had to chuckle listening to you talk about gift giving. Oh my goodness, you're JUST like my daughter! She gets so over the moon excited about gifts she has for people that she just about busts at the seams waiting to give them to the recipient. See? You're not alone in feeling that way!
I read "The Last Thing He Told Me"--soooo good! I just finished a couple of good books-now I can't remember the titles...I'll have to check on Goodreads. I'll have to look up the book you started-it's great when a book grabs your attention so quickly. I only read at night before lights out so I know a book is good when I'm wanting to go to bed at 7:00. 😀

Working on my first ever hand knit sock and also first knit project crossing over from crochet and while It’s going slow I am having so much fun I have 20 more rows before I reach the heel and I am wondering if the slip stitch heel flap provides more give at the bend of the ankle or should I fallow a different heel tutorial? Also I’m fallowing the socks on 9 in ,vanilla sock pattern and it has been so easy to fallow.
I am making the “whispers in the wind” pattern currently. I am loving the look. ❤️

I have a bit of ocd so I definitely would have ripped back the temperature blanket at first thought! However, if you're going to miss the monthly transition, June to July is the best time to do it! You could think of it as your marker for exactly halfway through the year!! 😂😂
I loved season 2 of The Bear! I hope you love reading Evelyn Hugo, that book gave me one of the biggest book hangovers I've ever had! I loved it so so much!
Also, re. the transition rows. It just makes your blanket magical. I read once that the Navajo put a flaw in their weaving on purpose that is considered the “spirit line”. God is in the mistakes. 😉

I am always amazed at how many WIPs you have going and love seeing your progress. What a wonderful joyous way you turned around your temperature blanket “oops” moment. Thanks for the book ideas. My son recommended Stephen Kings “Dark Tower” series that King started writing in 1998 and took 20 years to complete. Really enjoying it so far. So what goodies are you storing in that fabulous Victorian dresser?

I will probably put it in some type of a scrappy blanket project. I'm not sure what yet. I have a crochet granny stripe blanket going that I'm using magic knot for.. so it may just end up being added to that. :)

Kay. I am always amazed at how much you get done since “our last chat”. Several FOs, a book, movies. This snail managed to… managed to…. Well I …. Ok I got nothing accomplished since our last chat. 😂
Question: on your patterns you often only do the stitch patter on the front of the sock, even on the cuff. Is there a reason? Could someone work the pattern on the whole sock for the cuff and then just the top of the foot after the heel turn?
Hey Nancy, I did touch a bit on this in the video. But, sometimes I've just felt its nice to only have a pattern on the front. Let the yarn speak for itself on the back, and give a bit of a break from working a pattern. Most patterns can be repeated on the back of the leg if desired.

I am so bummed that Signature Needle Arts is closing! I LOVE my size 5 7 inch straights for my DK jelly roll blanket and I tried to snatch a pair of size 2 straights so I can make a fingering jelly roll blanket but they are all out except for the blunt tip (not sure about that). Do you have any recommendations for an alternative 7 inch straight needle? I’ve been search for some but they all seem to be longer.

I feel that it’s not just you that has had a difficult time with getting projects completed correctly…and on time. 😅 Just about everyone I’ve talked to has had some hiccups with their contractors, worldwide! Maybe it’s because those contractors don’t knit? 😂
