    On my 2nd batch and one of my sisters has already asked me to make her a batch. So delicious and such a great change from all the other dips (pepper jelly on cream cheese, etc). Thank you.

    Love it, omg so close to mine, I make own bacon, pastrami and corned beef, also make a tomato, jalapeno and bacon jam, jalapeno bacon jam, tomato and onion jam ect . 🤣🤫, Some sell, give away, use at restaurant for specials, I can't believe how close this recipe is🤔, I'm going to use slow cooker now 😂, Happy Easter 🐰
    Had to see again cuz can't get slow cooker/pressure cooker right, I was closing lid🥺 lol. Ssry for multiple comments but great method I'm trying to get right 👍, oh burgers, mic with Velveeta instead of Rotel, as a fondue dip.. I get carried away🥺

    It goes by faster if you just half the tomatoes before adding them in. I make regular tomato jam and I can’t wait to try this one!

    Hi Louise, thank you so much for all you do! I just love your videos and recipe blogs. I have a bunch of ripe cherry tomatoes from last summer that I froze, just because I couldn't use them all when they were ripe. Would they be okay for this jam? Should I thaw them out or PC them to start? Thank you!

    Looks delish Thx for always putting amazing recipes out and sharing your kitchen and home with us it’s deeply appreciated!! I think I’m making a jam 😉 gotta be careful on the salt so maybe after I lower this bp or take a chance 😆 it’s definitely worth it too me!! Yummy 🤤

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 роки тому

      Bacon is naturally salty, so you could try a lower salt variety and see how it tastes!

  • @jennigee51

    I'm always bemused by the bacon you have in the US, because you don't use back bacon (at least I've never seen it used) we tend to use back more than streaky, and I'm wondering what the jam would be like if I used back bacon. The jam looks fabulous!!

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 роки тому

      I think it would be fine as long as there is a little fat for flavor. The bacon doesn't stay crispy anyway, so that isn't an issue.

    • @ronaldyeater3322
      @ronaldyeater3322 Рік тому

      You're right, but some farmers/butchers make small batches with back bacon, I cure my own so doesn't last lol. Idk why that is👍

    Yummy! Love this recipe. Can't wait to try it this weekend. Can you make a large batch and seal in canning jars using the water bath canning method. Would make an excellent gift at Christmas in a gourmet food basket. I love making food baskets to give away with unique items in it. I have made red bell pepper jam with strawberries. :) Love your videos

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 роки тому +1

      I wouldn't water bath can it because of the bacon. If you want to pressure can, I would find a recipe that is specific for canning to make sure you have the right ph level and the correct timing. It does last quite a while in the fridge though.

    This looks delicious! How did you make the warm cream cheese dip?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 роки тому

      I warmed the cream cheese up a bit in the microwave and mixed in the bacon jam. I didn't measure but it was probably 3 parts cream cheese to 1 part bacon jam.

    Never heard of tomato jam, but sounds delicious. It might be a bit of a pain in the rear, but wouldn't just cutting the cherry tomatoes in half before cooking speed the whole process up? I'm not a cook but going to give this information to my niece who loves this kind of stuff

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  2 роки тому

      Yes, but the time you spend cutting the tomatoes will negate any time spent sautéing them.

    • @KO-lw4lo

      They may have too much moisture. Maybe drained and dried a bit, then not cooked as long..

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 роки тому

      I think that would be just fine! I would drain some of the juice, but not all. Then reduce them just like I did in the video.
