    Great video. I had a 190-200 watt FM transmitter when I lived in the NYC metro area and it served me very well for that area.
    Now that I moved to a very rural part of PA, I'm going to try to set up a KW or so AM station this summer. I have an 90 foot tower for my other antennas and I'm going to experiment with shunt-feeding the tower and see how that works. I see lots of work and ground radials in my future.
    I'd like to see a little more about the coverage of your AM set-up one day.
    Thanks for posting 👍🏼

      That sounds amazing. I'd like to hear the details if you do the AM. Sounds like it could be better than mine and mine goes too far :) Being on a clear frequency is what helps the most.

    Some great content here. I'm hoping that the Chinese will start offering more AM band transmitters as the broadcasters are disappearing quite quickly here.

    • @spectra-man
      @spectra-man  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah, it's interesting that the Chinese only have one 100mW AM kit. That's it - only one. Whereas they have hundreds or more FM transmitters. I understand there is probably a bigger market for FM, but not that much bigger. It would probably hurt the Greek guys though cause they are the only ones that offer big AM transmitters, so maybe it's good.

      There are new type of Made in China low power transmitters. The model is called TZT EL 15S. There are 3 versions: 1,5W, 7W and 15 W. According to my information they are based on Quintech chips. So spectral clarity is better and harmonics are 10 dB lower than Rohm modulator chips. So they might be good excitters.

      Yes, that should work, but I'm 90% sure the 7C uses a BNC connector not TNC. Maybe it's a different model you're looking at. Just make sure it really is that and not BNC.

      @@allanmenezes2440 Olá tudo jóia, sim eu recebi aqui o ELE EL 15S, eu ainda não abri ele para conferir por dentro, o 7C eu já abri para trocar o cooler por um melhor e com menos ruído. A princípio eu percebi nesse modelo EL 15S uma qualidade de som mais limpo, deve ser um IC CHIP QN seja o 8007 ou seja o 8066 que acho mais provável ser. O modelo que veio para mim não tem 15 watts, ele vai de 1 watts 1,2 w até 6 a 8 watts, notei que de acordo com a frequência escolhida sua potência pode ser um pouco mais favorecida ou não. Isso ainda pode sofrer influência do cabo e antena externa que escolher, assim como ajustes para um bom ROE. Eu penso que fizemos uma boa compra, áudio limpo, estéreo com uma boa separação, e possui um MP3 integrado, veio um controle remoto que permite utilizar a entrada usb, com alterações de equalização. Ainda preciso fazer vários testes, mas a princípio eu gostei e acredito que você vá gostar também. A conexão com PC eu não encontrei software, mais por usb o PLL funciona, com potência reduzida, mais serve se quiser apenas um som ambiente dentro de sua casa. Vamos nos falando, espero que goste, abraço e bom fim de semana.

    What % is the stereo pilot set?

    • @spectra-man

      Sorry, I don't know how to measure. Do I just compare the 19khz level on spectrum with the carrier level and give percentage? But anyway, the BH1415F has a pilot level adjustment on pin 19. So if it was important, you could maybe change the component.

      @jazzforever4631 2 роки тому

      @@spectra-man According to the ITU regulations, 19 kHz pilot tone must be 8-10% of 75 kHz modulation. I have quite good experience with BH-14xx (Rohm) IC modulators in Chinese transmitters. But under some conditions: They are good for power rated 15-30 Watts. Especially (as you confirmed in one video) if is transmitter set 50-100% power. There can be some harmonics (300 and 600 kHz " + " and "- "adjacting your set frequency), but nothing serious. And I can confirm your claiming, one model 25W on lowest power setting have interferrence most likely RF leakage of OLED screen. Regarding "sound", my experrience is quite good. Even highest quality professional transmitters are having 50 Hz high pass filter. Rohm chips are having 15000 Hz low pass filter (guarding pilot tone), and deviation limiter what is really useful. Regardning stereo signal (Multiplex) sound, is not much worst compared to the professional transmitters I worked with. If your intention is to transmit studio produced program directly to the audio input, it must be sound processing. And if your intention is to use built in SD and USB player, sound must be processed (EQ and multiband compression) before you transfer the recording to the medium. FM Stereo broadcasting even in the latest digitaly processed MPX encoders, can never be "Hi-Fi". Limitations are in the principle, and stereo signal must be 4-5 times stronger than mono in order to have equal signal to noise ratio.Many FM Stereo DX-ers, enjoy this specific not audio purist sound,...

      @@yungman3033 No, of course not. Do you understand you have to make sure the input wattage is correct? The amps page will almost always tell you how many watts or mW is needed to drive the amp. It sounds like you have no experience with electronics, so be very smart and make sure you don't damage the amp.

    • @spectra-man
      @spectra-man  2 роки тому

      @@yungman3033 Separate amp for 15 or 25W: That would be a bit more challenging because today, no amps require that much input power. So you'd have to turn down the TX or add an attenuator, but with your knowledge, that is not possible for you.
      So if you want to drive amp, buy a transmitter like this one in the video.
