I sent them a email the day after I saw the episode requesting the same thing you are. It really would be awesome to hear an album of Psalms sang in this manner.
It is the most beautiful Psalm.interpretation, I ever heard! If you would record CDs like that with all the Psalms or at least a collection, I would buy them at once! I also loved the reading for Eden. So beautifully done! I can't tell, how often I rewatched this and some other deep and touching scenes of this episode.
Can we show appreciation to the actor who played Asaph. His voice and delivery are the foundation of this scene, and it wouldn't have had the same affect if he didn't knock it out of the park.
It’s one of the reasons I keep coming back to listen to it. That and the choir humming in the background. Put together it is just so beautiful. I feel God had His hand on them or it wouldn’t speak to so many.
@@OurMadUniverse I had the same issue reading the Book of Psalms from beginning to the end, or singing them in church when younger (catholic mass). I think the delivery really matters and I truly believe we're not supposed to just read 30-50 psalms a day, but maybe just one or a few

A year ago, my aunt (my dad’s twin) passed away after battling stage 4 cancer for two years. A few weeks ago my dad unexpectedly passed away. Grief is so hard but this scene and the reminder of God’s promises is what is getting me through.
Psalm 77 was beautifully done. It was so moving and added such depth to the story being told. I also loved Psalm 3 prayed by the disciples before going out on their 2 by 2 ministry. It brought such unity to this team of “brothers from different mothers” going forth on their mission. Thank you Chosen team for richly telling the greatest story ever told!
The first time I watched this season and episode, I had nothing great going on in my life and still cried. The second time I watched it was after I had an ectopic pregnancy that ended up with a surgery removing my fallopian tube with the baby. This season has ministered to me in so many ways. Jesus speaking to little James, Faith the size of a mustard seed and this finale episode with Peter questioning Jesus on the water. I cried not out of sorrow but out of deep understanding that whatever God does is good. I’m standing strong on my faith that my God will restore what has been taken away from me and my family ❤️
Your testimony brought me to tears, god will never forsake anyone...trust his timing, and like the ending of the psamls declared "Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, yet thy footsteps were unseen." God bless 🙏
I love when Matthew was weeping alone in his room holdimg that tassle that was given to him by the shepherd. I love John the Baptist praying in prison. I love the way Peter and Eden came back to each otjer and found healing. I love Gaius slowly coming to believe in Jesus. And specially "My Songs in the Night". God is ever present with us, in the midst of our storm, in the midst of our sufferings, and jn the midst of our happiness. No one else like our God.
My teen son and I started reading the Book of Psalms together in the mornings before he gets ready for school. I hope to encourage in him daily Scripture readings as a habit. ❤
I love the way The Chosen uses "hyperlinks" between the Tanakh (Old Testament) and New Testament! Season 3 was a beautiful overlay of the two - well done, fam 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Excited to see what "new" discoveries and hyperlinks show up in Season 4...
It’s very obvious that the team creating the Chosen really takes the time to pray and study the Bible. Also, the creativity in these episodes is really impressive and beautiful! It allows the viewer to imagine what could’ve happened according to the scripture truths. There’s definitely some room for artistic interpretation and the Chosen team keeps it theoretically and historically accurate! Thank you Dallas and all the people of the Chosen for this! God bless!!
They have very hands-on consultants who are a Catholic Priest who is a professor, a Jewish Rabbi who is also a professor, and a Protestant Minister that they consult with on everything.
Although I’ve grown up with the Gospel, and I am a Christian, it’s hard to truly picture the Twelve, let alone Jesus Himself, as, for lack of a better term, “regular people”. Until the Chosen. This series is doing phenomenal work in bringing the Bible to life. Although I’ve seen “The Passion of the Christ,” I feel like once this series gets to the fateful Week In Jerusalem, it’s going to tear my heart out, stomp on it, and then shove it back in my chest about 10 sizes bigger the next episode. I can’t wait!
When I saw this scene in 'The Chosen' episode, watching David's 'face', had a very intense look as if relating his time talking to his God. I loved it.🙏❤
I was sobbing by the end of this episode this scene was so beautiful and adding Simon, Eden, John the Baptizer, Ramah, Thomas, Giaus, and Matthew in the end scene was even more moving. "For Such a time as this." This quote from Esther is so accurate to now as is the release of the chosen being released "for such a time as this." I couldn't think of a better time for this amazing show to be unleashed on the world.
This Psalm of Asaph, rendered in this way is incredible. It led me to a reading session of Psalms that was deep and powerful, employing a new eye, listening with a new ear, engaging with renewed imagination. My meditations lead to deeper appreciation of God and His amazing love and grace. The Holy Spirit using The Chosen as a vehicle for engagement--this is the series at its best--not as a primary source (how often has Dallas clarified this?!), but as a pointer to Scripture. I am amazed and thankful, each and every time, how The Chosen ratchets up its impact for good, encouraging its viewers not so much to "Come and See" as to "Go, Read, and See!"
Yes, King David...this was a most beautiful addition to this series! David shared his confessions; his heartaches, his joys, his failures, his deep and profound sadness, his love, his sufferings...his whole heart...before God and before us...what an example for us...to not be ashamed of our struggles before a Mighty God! And a reminder to us, to bring EVERYTHING before God! Even what others would say is not "cool" or "shameful"...this is why I post my problems publicly...I am not ashamed either...and in hopes that someone will understand...NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD...and nothing is unusual to Him either...He knows us, He just wants our hearts...just like King David's...God is Awesome! 🥰✌🏼♥️🙏🏼
So much like the Gregorian chant ..this tune is a healer ...being a Catholic I am feel proud ..we still have this way of singing..whether its Psalm or hymns...
In less than ten seconds, my daughter and I sat in our theater seats with tears streaming down our cheeks when this psalm started. I knew she was just as messed up as I was and we could MOT take our eyes off the screen. If we had made eye contact, we would have been bawling! Oh, my Lord, that was just beautifully done. I can still feel the presence of God listening to this. It is truly an anointed piece. 🙌🏽🙏🏽🥰
Such creativity…so much thoughts put into this. This scene literally was so amazing that by the end ..I was left SPEECHLESS. Thank you Dallas and the whole of The Chosen team! ❤🎊✨
Words are not enough to express how grateful I am that The Chosen introduced me to Psalm 77 and especially in this exquisite way. It is a Psalm for the times we are living in now. Also, the opening scene is a masterpiece and the characters were perfectly cast. I especially was happy to see Moriah Smallbone cast as Queen Beersheba. I do hope that Dallas will do more scenes or even a series from the Old Testament. This episode inspired me to reread and study the Book of Psalms. God bless all of you.
This scene was done so beautifully! Like the man after God's own heart, King David, we too can be comforted and strengthened through the hard times. By remembering God's miracles and work in the past, we will have courage to continue. ❤🌻
This is so beautiful. What an incredible way to shar this Psalm. The first time I heard it, I cried. GOD is awesome and worthy to praised. No one is like Him, and no one can do what only HE can do.
The words of this psalm make my heart break only to be healed again. It tells the story of my emense grief and suffering following my husband's death. For months on end, I cried. Remembering all those things I could have said and all those things I should have said. And for all those things that should have been left unsaid. For all those things I should have done that were left undone. I prayed and prayed, only to feel abandoned by God. No words or sympathy could relieve my suffering. Until one day. Our Lord came to me and said, "We are right here." And then I knew, I was going to be o.k. Remembering all those gifts he had bestowed to me. The beautiful time with my husband, my children, and family, my friends. It changed my life forever. It strengthened my faith and made better all the relationships in my life that matter. I wake each morning in prayer, thanking God for another beautiful day. This Psalm reminds me of all these things. The pain and the suffering. It also reminds me to look beyond myself to the world, to others, and most of all, to the glory of God. Thank you for this beautiful interpretation. I have shared it many times. God bless you, Dallas, your cast, and your crew!
Psalm 77 is very well portrayed in the emotional themes of Season 3. This was a beautiful scene. I've never read Psalm 77 and imagined it this way even though I wondered how the music and arrangements sounded back then. What an vocal excellent presentation! Thank you, Lord for beautifying Your Word this way. May The Chosen continue to bless You in Jesus' name Amen.
I truly have to say this was the most beautifulest scene. I truly believe this how King David was made to hear the Psalms written Asaph. If it was you hit it right on the head. ❤❤
What if all Psalms are spoken/sung at such different soothing tones? They did a great job on this episode. Now I see this psalm in a whole new way. Thank you for this and linking the two together. This Psalm is so powerful and expressive. I truly love the Chosen. God bless
I loved this scene, I watched it several times. I hope it’s on your season 3 soundtrack. I would love an album with verses from Psalms to be recorded like this. Great job on your creativity, as always.
Prophet David himself declared the "Lord said unto my Lord sit at my right Hand until I make your enemies your footstool". Prophet David himself called Jesus Christ as his Lord.
This is my favorite Psalm!! I used to recite it whenever I'm distressed or desperate. It gives me the hope and surety that the Lord is with me , no matter what situation I face in my life !❤️ I'm glad that The Chosen included this Psalm that i don't have to read or recite it the next time 😅 !! This is so encouraging!! 🙌🏻
This hymn is a beautiful piece of artistry, it gets me emotional every time I hear it since it speaks to our innate relationship with god, like a beautiful tapestry, thank you :)
This was so beautiful that my son and I were speechless for a moment afterward watching the episode. And that look on David's face! So, so good. Thank you Chosen team for stirring our hearts, you all are amazingly talented.
I would be very grateful if angel studio make more king David's psalm into this human audio soundtracks. This soundtrack really comforts my heart. Epic and phenomenal works.❤
During these perilous times on earth, this Psalm let's us know of our powerful & mighty God. Each time I listen to this, I learn more & it's beautiful. Shalom.
I love The Chosen and this scene is incredible. I would love for Dallas and all the other chosen staff to make a show about King David's life, this actor plays King David so well and it really would be an amazing to see David's life come to life! Just some food for thought.
I’m so so thankful the chosen series was made. I was thinking about how I wish it was around many years ago that would be nice but God allowed it to happen during this period for a reason it was meant to be now. So amazing.
I love the women eventually coming in and harmonizing with the men, showing through the parts that God speaks to all of us in this Psalm. God Bless you as you’re filming Season 4!!
We need an album of the Psalms recited by this man portraying Asaph (Pezh Maan) accompanied by a choir like this (credited to Dan Haseltine, Matthew S. Nelson and Ruby Amanfu). This rendition is so powerful and moving; I’ve never heard anything like it before. I’ve searched after seeing this episode and all I could find were chants or flat recordings with no vibrancy to them. I am praying for world to be blessed with something like what we experienced here. If it is the the Lords will, I hope The Chosen team sees the importance of what they’ve started in this scene and the necessity of it’s realization. May God be with you and peace be upon you all.
This is how we should primarily sing! We can do Gospel and others too, but this is how God revealed musical and singing worship to me over the years! I also love that it's not just David who offers prayers as psalms to God, but Asaph and Korah do as well! It's a joy for me to read Asaph as well. I'd love to know who the writers are for 94 on, but for the spirit of Hebrews, let them not be named. It's content is most important.
This is one of the most beautiful sequences I've ever seen! The way it connects to all the story pace is stunning! I wish to congratulate the whole team of writers for doing such a wonderful work!
God's story weaves through millenia, and telling the story of Jesus is also telling the story of the Old Testament, which is why we sometimes include it in the show.
Check out this scene in the Season 3 Finale! You can watch all episodes, including this one, free and easily in The Chosen app.

Way mooore!!!

Thank you, Lord for beautifying Your Word this way. May The Chosen continue to bless You in Jesus' name Amen.
This is literally soul stirring right from the very depth of it
I truly have to say this was the most beautifulest scene.
God bless
I've been entranced by it ever since I first heard it and I've been thinking about it lately. The timing's simply impeccable.
This cut me deep, and I cried. God has awesome ways of communicating with us. Like through this Psalm and His word in general.
Jesus is David and he cried out to the Lord who is Abraham. Jesus = David prophetically.
David was not a prophet that's why he had Samuel and Nathan
@@chadcrenshaw5589 King David wrote prophecy from God which makes him a Prophet and a King.
One of my favourite scenes. Goosebumps goosebumps goosebumps!
This is my favorite portion of the Chosen. It stirs my soul with wonder & awe. How great is our God~ 🙌🙌🙌
Thank you Chosen team for stirring our hearts, you all are amazingly talented.
watching this in the theater just gave me chills❤ love this part.
I love this scene. Absolutely beautiful. Prairie Jesus for the Chosen. ♥️♥️♥️
I would be very grateful if angel studio make more king David's psalm into this human audio soundtracks. This soundtrack really comforts my heart. Epic and phenomenal works.❤
Now only do i feel loved I feel protected.
This is great! I wish The Chosen did the entire book of Psalm this way.
David's face when he hears this Psalm ♥️♥️....we really need a soundtrack of Psalms in this way
brings me to tears, every time 🥲👑❤️
I would literally pay to hear the entire Psalm read like this.
I love this scene. Never get tired of it. The psalmist read it with the power of the strength of the Sovereign Lord. Ty I felt every word read. 🙏❤
This is so awesome!! King David was a man after God's own Heart. RlP😔mighty King David. Thanks so much for sharing this w/us.
No one on earth and beneath it can stop the spread of the Word of GOD. JESUS is the only way to GOD.
I agree! A recording of the Psalms of Asaph would be great. I can’t get enough of this Psalm 77. Glory to God! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
This was so beautiful. Love this so much. Beautiful work. Touches my heart. Oh how I love Jesus!
Thank you….all involved to bring this together….thank you. All the psalms should be presented this way. How beautiful 🙏🏼
During these perilous times on earth, this Psalm let's us know of our powerful & mighty God. Each time I listen to this, I learn more & it's beautiful. Shalom.
Many subtle and profound nuances thoughtfully woven into this wonderful montage.
Blessings and Maranatha
It fit perfectly through the whole episode! Wow, so beautiful!🙏🕊
I love this so much it is so beautifully done
I would love to See A Full Album of Proverbs sung or Presented In The Chosen's Epic Style 😎 ❤❤❤
So amazing.
I agree the show was released at the perfect time.
Beautiful, I was in tears , bravo to The Chosen team ❤
I love the women eventually coming in and harmonizing with the men, showing through the parts that God speaks to all of us in this Psalm.
God Bless you as you’re filming Season 4!!
Every psalms with backgrounds vocals is beautiful
This deserves a standing ovation !!!!! Bravo..bravo.. bravo.. love it..
This is so beautiful!!! Such a beautiful part of The Chosen. One of my favorite moments for Simon and Eden ❤. One of Many in The Chosen!! 🙏✝️🎵🎶🤗
I love that you show how the scripture impacted the people of the New Testament, something I’ve never seen in a Bible show.
What a great ending....I watch and listen ALL the time. It is very soothing.
Amen Thank you Jesus Thank you God love yall and thanks for everything you do for me Amen
Does anyone else just come back to this?!? I love it
Just finished watching the 3rd season again last night. Excited for season 4.
Right to the heart it makes le cry, praise God for his faithfulnes to us !! ❤😢 Is an amazing scene, thank you
One word..Beautiful ❤
God's power, love, and promises are revealed through these words. He is so so good!! Thank you, mighty and generous Father!
Thanks you help me in à difficulté time of my live to still have hope and faith
God's story weaves through millenia, and telling the story of Jesus is also telling the story of the Old Testament, which is why we sometimes include it in the show.
Love this 😍 what a cool way to show how a psalm could have been delivered
