Seriously you have become my go to for real life practical and everyday knowledge reviews . I will be sharing this one this am to my buddy retiring and going to buy his first rifle. He’s only had muzzleloader and shotgun for deer hunting. No nonsense , common sense , honest reviews without fourteen corporate sponsors influencing every sentence . I appreciate the work you put in making and editing all these videos. I do 15 second shorts from the farm and it takes alot of time for that . Long form with editing must take a lot of time from your family. Please thank them from the viewers.
I also like his videos on skinning, quartering, and especially processing into freezer ready stuff. And his korean recipes, too. And I like that he hunts in a regular SUV with a luggage rack on the hitch receiver.
And I seriously appreciate you brother and please tell your buddy to break in his 1st rifle to get the most accuracy out of it. I have a simple procedure and he should watch it before shooting a new rifle. ua-cam.com/video/_n7QqoTtOXU/v-deo.html Thanks for watching n God bless.
Had a Vanguard in 308 years ago. It was a shooter to be sure. I just prefer a left hand friendly hunting rifle. Really wish Howa of Japan would make a southpaw version. Little better prices then Tikka, while I like my Tikka Hunter a lot. $1000 a pop vs a Vanguard, scope and rings for the same money.
I have the .243, .308, 30-06, 6.5cm, and .375h&h all in Weatherby Vanguard S2. None have ever let me down… the only problems I’ve ever experienced were of my own making.
You are so right on the Vanguard! I have owned so many of them over the 60+ years I have been hunting and collecting rifles and they are one of the Best Buy’s out there for there price range!
WOW! Now that's an impressive group for Weatherby's entry-level rifle! Doc, I've long been a fan of Weatherby, and I have two, a very old model in .270 (that will only shoot .130 grain bullets because the twist isn't fast enough), but it's still accurate. I dropped two deer in their tracks on a Georgia hunt many years ago. I like to say it was as if they were struck by lighting! You do have to watch bullet placement because it will tear up a lot of meat on a small deer. The other is in .300 and still shoots all bullet weights with great accuracy. I dropped a cow elk in Colorado with a Texas heart shot! But I've never tried these barrel limb stabilizers so that's on my next shooting bucket list! Great video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks Ron, sounds like you more love for Weatherby than me😁. Try few spots with stabilizer and when you find it just leave there and you'll love it, I had mine on this same spot for past 11 years and every time I shoot it I'm smiling from ear to ear😃. Have a blessed Sunday.
@@vameathunter2771 Yes, the .270 WM has killed at least two dozen deer although not all by me! My hunting buddy Woody before he died dropped one every year in Vermont! These two I killed in Georgia way back when. Wish I had a Vanguard, they would be great in all kinds of weather. PS I now keep this in my son's safe in Georgia, might use it next FALL.
Who cares if the bolt is smooth.... If the vangaurd didnt have the atrocious 90 degree bolt throw it does, it would be better than any rifle under $2k (canadian)
I regretted it. Bad service from the Weatherby warranty depot here in Canada. Got rid of the rifle. Lots of good features but would not shoot for me. Head space was out and they wouldn’t fix it but that’s because of bad service from the warranty dealer.
What a shame😩, people who wants to sell and make money but don't want to take responsibility to make it right is . Sorry you had a bad experience with Weatherby.
VA Meat Hunter, I agree! my brother owns a Vanguard in 6.5 Crdmr...and its really accurate, I also own two Howa's, one in 243 and one in 308, both excellent rifles (they share the same Japanese made action and trigger with the Vanguard)... Howa's also come with a sub MOA guarantee (with premium ammo).. and they have not disappointed
Future hunter here, thank you for this video! I’m trying to decide between this and the Ruger American Go Wild for my first hunting rifle. They’re about the same prince right now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I always wanted Tikka but for some reason never bought one, maybe I should get on in 308. Time to save some money😆.

The most underrated action ever,, sako extractor, and solid, one piece recoil lug. . it's a Remington 700 style, but improved !

Great video! Glad I found your channel. I have not heard of a barrel stabilizer. Do you have other videos on it?
Thanks bro and yes I did a video on it.

I would go with Ruger in calibers like 308, 6.5C but go with Weatherby in 7 mm Rem mag or 300 win mag.
