Did you need passport or anything besides ur id to get back into California

ID and Passport or ID and US Born Birth Certificate will get you back in walking or driving.
If you are driving past the BAJA border by car you will also need to get Mexico Auto Insurance and need the owner of the car needs to be in the vehicle. Worth the investment online I got it for $25/day with collision coverage - it would have cost only $1/day if I got a 6 or 12 month policy.
