Many thanks for this video. I was about to pay to have this done, but it doesn't look too hard and I'll try to do it myself now. Thanks for giving me a preview of the job and the confidence to try it!
Why is the new bracket necessary? What are the differences between the new and old one? Also how are the new injector lines so pliable and mines are stiff?
drewW Thanks, Drew. We are always glad to receive positive feedback on our videos and even happier that the video was helpful to you. Thanks again and keep watching!
this video was great! you went in depth with cautions and the reason for the cautions. professionally presented with no rambling narrative. thank you very much for the video. was the injector you installed a BWD unit?
Thanks for the great feed back Rickey. Yes the injector was a BWD unit. The part number is 63885 and you can learn more about it here: ecatalog.smpcorp.com/bwd/#/vehicles/parts/num/63885?type=s
Does the spider do any sort of processing of how the fuel is distributed? Basically, if fuel flows through each injector by manually triggering each line, can the spider base affect how the fuel flows to cause a misfire in cylinder 5? I'm asking because I have replaced everything else and compression is good, but still getting a misfire. Could it be the spider injectors or the PCM?
Thanks for the question, Tim. The spider unit doesn't do any processing, but it does control the amount of fuel delivered to each cylinder. A specific injector may be restricted (in your case cylinder #5). I would verify that the injector is getting the proper signal from the PCM prior to condemning the injector. Hope that helps.
oh my God iv been having problems with installing my injectors the gasket blew on the intake manifold the 1st time Took it apart and replaced it.second time around the gasket on the spider assembly was leaking so I had to take it apart again. now the fuel line wouldn't sit flush in the spider assembly so I replaced the O ring with a thicker one and the fuel line goes all the way in the spider assembly but it's leaking fuel through the fuel line even though it's all the way in the spider assembly. iv run out of options I'm considering having it towed to my mechanics shop. iv been dealing with this problem for 4 days
Hey Sammy. Thanks for you very informative videos. I have a 99 4.3 Astrovan that the gas station accidentally put diesel in the fuel tank, The mistake was only realized after the van drove off and started to misfire badly. I pumped the tank out and put new gas in changed the spark plugs. Now the engine idles very smoothly but tumbles, misfires and pops back through the intake upon acceleration then dies, what else should I check to solve this problem?? Thanks for your help
Hello Bwdbrand, So I have this unit and installed into a 97 chevy Tahoe but I'm getting a hammer nose on 8 and 6 so i'm wondering if the unit puppets our to long and hitting, But if that was the case it would be on all 1 to 8. I was able to get the units puppets out without a lot of problems so you can see what I'm replying. Unless the old puppets clips broke off into 8 and 6 and there down into the values. I'll no when I remove the heads I hope then rings
I was just having problems with starting alittle slower before I put this product on my blazer now I keep being a number one cylinder misfire and I think it's over this I'm at a loss for words and don't know what it could me its installed the way it's supposed to be
Electrical is disconnected and re connected when the outer black cover is in place. The top end of the injector body is where the electrical and fuel connect to the unit.
Dude, working on a greasy messy engine, with a white shirt, BRAVE!!!!
not really it has a company logo so more likely he didn't pay for it.
Would like to say that this is the best video on this project i have found very nice work thanks much

Number three hose goes inboard (towards the center) and under #1

Who makes the injector hole brush you used?
Hello Bwdbrand,

Good afternoon. THIS necessary to remove spider without breaking . How do I remove paragraph because no have no specific tool
How does the electrical work?
Electrical is disconnected and re connected when the outer black cover is in place.
The top end of the injector body is where the electrical and fuel connect to the unit.
So does this truck not have just single fuel injectors?
no. simple to replace whole unit though. expensive, $300.00 plus
are they all the same leight?
Yes, all the tubes are the same length. It is important that they are installed in the correct hole though, or you'll create a misfire.
GM at it's best redesign and redesign wtf if they had gone with a proper and proven Bosh no need for redesign
dos it matter what hole the each injector go in? ??
did you watch the video?
don't have old one to go by
his fingers were dirty and he just put dirt / lube combo on the tips? hum
need to know which sensor does what
Thanks¡¡
he has a step warp phone
be nice to see the engine instead of this guy talking , he just pops off the upper intake and doesn't show how that comes off. humm
