WordPress SEO plugins can help you to master on-page SEO tasks like titles, meta tags, and other content optimization-related things.
These plugins are also useful for technical SEO tasks like page speed optimization, redirects, canonicals, and hreflang.
However, run a search for “SEO” in the WordPress plugins directory, and you will get nearly a thousand SEO plugins to choose from.
You don’t need that many to make your website “SEO-friendly.” In this video, you’ll learn which WordPress plugins you should choose for your website.
The first plugin Sam recommends is not what you’ll expect. Plenty of people are familiar with Yoast. But in Sam’s opinion, this plugin is better than Yoast.
With this plugin, you can:

3. Quickly add nofollow tags to links
4. Generate sitemaps
After you’re done with the basic setup for this plugin, you can take a look at plugins for improving page speed.

I already commented on how I wanted to try everything you mentioned in the video. Now that I've implemented everything: I actually managed to get my desktop page speed from 59/100 to 98 out of 100 using your advice.

Honestly, RankMath has a pretty horrific landing page full of false promises about actually helping rank, but it does do a LOT of really good things for a website that Sam & co highlighted really well here.

Hi. I disabled the Lazy Image loading on Jetpack and activated A3 Lazy Load and it went from Grade C, 1.3s, 75 requests, 1,995KiB to Grade B, 1.6s, 82 requests & 1,991 KiB. Which one is better please?

You can use any option, the results will be pretty close. I would not say one plugin is better than the other two or backwards.

Excellent video Sam! I am using free version Cloudflare and do I still need to install extra plugin like W3 total cache? What is the max numbers of plugins we can have without burdening our site? Is it recommended to switch from yoast to rank math for established site? Tq
Not sure on integrating Cloudflare with W3 Total Cache. Best to search through WordPress forums or to reach out to the devs there.
As for "max number of plugins," I wouldn't say there's a set number. In my opinion, it's more what the plugins do and how much load or if they're incompatible with one another or your theme. I personally don't keep track by "number of plugins."

So you're using 2 plugins for images (lazy load & compression) have you ever used tools like WP Smush Pro which gives you both those options in one plugin? We use these on our client sites, but wondering if you've tried them and seen a better result from the 2 separate plugins?
I doubt there will be a big difference. We worked with these two plugins and got pretty good results. So video was created based on our experience, it does not mean other tools are not worth attention.

I tried Easy Table of Contents, but found that Table of Contents Plus had better options in my opinion. I believe both have the same code foundation. I added some simple CSS to make the T.O.C. left justified for a "cleaner" look.
Also, personally I recommend using a large font size for a T.O.C. as remember that most of your traffic is on mobile!

No. U can import all yoast present info n setting to rank math

It causes addiction to watching Ahrefs videos. There are a few more tools in my base )) Right now I need to ask my content manager to test new staff. On-page SEO is really important. Websites lose 20% of their conversions for each loading second. Amazon invests a lot to improve site speed and have today over 40% of all hosting resources in the US. The second is Microsoft, the third is Google. Big brands know about the importance of UX and how just simple loading kills conversions.
Good point. We need to aim for the same as well in order to be on top of SERP.

Hii Sam i have an old article on query like "xyz referral code"
And being on top 5 is generating some revenue for me but now some good authority sites upranked me and now i'm on 11th position peoples are not visiting 2nd page of google thats why im not generating any revenue. So. What can i do to make it in top 5??
I recommend to analyze top 5 websites. What is an angle of content they offer? Do they offer more than you do? What are other keywords they rank for while you do not? And finally compare the backlink profile strength. You probably want to build some backlinks directly to that page that ranks for the target keyword. Some extra internal links from other pages on your site might be useful as well. Hope that helps.

Yep, Matthew Woodward also tested & recommended ShortPixel as I recall. I'm using Smush Pro but will probably have to change as it's so darn slow when adding images, plus .PNGs don't really get any reduction. :/

I'd be curious to hear what the folks at Ahrefs think about the Genesis Framework for WordPress. I use its built-in SEO features in lieu of a multipurpose plugin like Yoast or RankMath. I still use plugins for site speed (WP Rocket and Imagify), though.
Lack of experience with Genesis Framework does not allow me to give you any proven feedback. It will be a nice study to install plugins from this video and check if your site does any better in terms of pagespeed. Share your results with us, in case you decide to move forward with such an experiment😉

I've used the Genesis Framework with Yoast, WP Rocket, and some of the other plugins mentioned in the video. I believe they worked out of the box outside of not deferring certain scripts / other tweaks.

Do you find WP Rocket similiar to W3 Total Cache? And Imagify vs ShortPixel?
I've only used WP Rocket on one site and I actually had it running simultaneously with W3 Total Cache with some tweaked settings. For whatever reason, W3TC did certain things better for the theme/framework combination I had on that site. Hosting settings perhaps played a role too. Can't be 100% sure though whether it was the "chicken or the egg" :)

You don't need these plugins to do SEO per se. But they're helpful for beginners to keep their site optimized on a minimum level.

Installing RankMath will disable Yoast automatically.

Hi there, i use Fastfunnels for my websites and i don't think all these plugins can be included there. Do you have other ranking tools that work the same way but work on other platforms such as shopify, fastfunnels and the rest?
We do not offer plugins. As for Ahrefs - it can be used for SEO optimization for any site, does not matter what platform you use. As for plugins on other platforms, we will think about a possible video on that.

What do you think about LiteSpeed Chache plugin? My hosting provider supports litespeed caching.
I haven't tried it, but if it does the best job for you over other plugins, then I don't see why you would/should change :)

@@AhrefsCom I'm using LiteSpeed with two stores. First with Hestia theme works well. Second with OceanWP theme sometimes do not pass payment data and yesterday I found the LiteSpeed causes the issue... Maybe some settings because it has a lot of switches :) But in total that caching speeds up a lot.

It those but works with limited features of late, I installed an advance plugin on my website which enhanced my sales on my website and google rating, business has been good since Techcyber helped installed this plugin.. I spoke with them on +12012979269 and they handled the whole thing..

What do you mean "remove"? Afaik you can just un-activate/un-install it since it's a Wordpress plugin.

Enmanuel Diaz I thought this same thing but when you install Rank Math, it automatically imports all of your meta data, create a sitemap with the same name and path as Yoast and evening turns the plugin off for you. It was pretty much a seamless transition.

When you install Rank Math; it walks you through the on boarding and does all the work. Basically install, follow the prompts and you’re done.

Hi, I wanted to know how relevant is SEO in 2019, especially with everyone now using websites as a sales funnel instead of a site for information or specific keywords?
And I'm currently building a website that is completely built in Revolution Sliders, is it user-friendly? Trying to find informations regarding this but the results are mostly outdated.
In my opinion SEO still matters, as you will not be able to bring traffic to your sales pages without SEO. At least it works for us in Ahrefs. As for Revolution Sliders, I do not have experience with it so I doubt I can share some valuable info on it.

Magic Slider 3 Pro or Revolution Slider 6 Pro?. Did you choose one over the other 'cause price?. I find easier to use Revo, but Magic is better but a pain to set. Mind to share your 2 cents, please.
@@balhazer RS 6 Pro, I use RS because I've used it already for a very long time and the only best slider option for Visual Composer or WPBakery Editor.
Why not use WP Rocket alongside Rank Math? WP Rocket offers a lot of the optimization variables you talked about with ShortPixel, a3 Lazy Loaz and W3 Total Cache...Is WP Rocket not compatible with Rank Math?
This needs to be checked, not sure if it is compatible or not. These are just some suggestions, so it is up to you which one to use and which one works better for you

I haven't tried or used SiteGround's optimization plugins so can't really speak for it. If it's working for you, then I don't see why you wouldn't keep it :)

Why didnt you pick WPMUDEV - Smush for image optimising? It has lazyload, bulksmash, and much more.
Lots to choose from and I haven't tried every WP plugin out there. Will take a look into it, but I personally prefer this stack because it's pretty lightweight from my experience and also because of comfort. Will check out WPMUDEV though. Thanks for that :)
