i gotta say that this tutorial is absolutely amazing - and not only for those interested in producing hardstyle. this guide can be used by almost any harder EDM genre. I've been really lacking motivation when it comes to producing music eventhough i used to do nothing else between 2019 and 2021. I always felt like i keep falling behind new trends, techniques and plugins. One day i just completely lost all will to make music. But this video, dare i say, has kind of reignited the spark for my motivation again. The way you show and explain all the modern ways to layer leads, refine kicks and things i've always wondered how to do is super helpful - and all that without any annoying pauses or stuttering - just straight to the point. I can't believe i've just watched this for free. It feels like i pirated this video. Thank you!
This is the best harder styles documentary u could find exactly. I realy appreciate the oldschool stuff from 2000 to almost 2008 and raw nowadays. Thanks OPS for it
small note. a video would be even better. if after the “Song from scratch” section there would be a separate “finished result” section. that would be convenient. thanks for your efforts!
Love these detailed Videos - pls dont stop doing this, I always find some small thinks you might not even notice explaining because its obvious for you :) - KEEP IT UP
Very very good tutorial that is the way how to process those 3rd party plug-ins and overlay your synth very popcorny thank you this is very professionally made!! Brilliant
Wow love this video! Tbh I was struggling to find somewhere such an overall tutorial on hardstyle song structure together with explanation of the vsts and the methods of how they are used. Big up to you and looking forward to more videos. Also all your sample packs are bangers!
Great work guys, presentation is ‘on point’ i know this process well but its so easy to get stuck in it, endlessly tweaking sound losing sight of the red line. This is such a great video to inspire to stay on course of with progress by your identified milestones. Excellent job!🎉
Normally I pass by these sample pack heavy tutorial type videos, but this one is really great. Appreciate the effort put into this and sharing the knowledge.
I bet this genre would still be alive today if producers didn't gatekeep so hard during it's peak. Anyway good video. It seems very well put together so far.
Great video! You earned yourself a like and subscribe and I’ll check out the links when it’s not 3 in the morning! I kinda feel like a part of the song being called the “anticlimax” makes it sounds like it’s a letdown
Great tutorial! The thing that made the melody weird was that it started on the offbeat meanwhile it was sidechained for every beat, so kick played on the same beat as the melody, if you had just had the melody play on the beat it would have sounded much better
allot of time went into this video, allot of people will argue about historic accuracy and the details, but that means you did your job, i am not a fan of this latest kick style everyone is using, but i dont think it will be around for more then a year in its current state, its a wet fart kick IMO, solid vid, nice to go down memory lane and how far we come as far as making kicks go
After 2015 things got blurry in the video yea haha, obviously a lot happened since then and now, but yea! And obviously there was a scene in the UK, Italy etc as well Unfortunately we couldn’t include everything in the video due to time constraints 🙌
@@OnPointSamples even the the history of the first pitched kicks, everyone agrees its Willem who did it first, i want to agree, but at this point it feels like lore not fact, but like any great world and story, there is amazing lore, know these kind of videos generally dont do well but love to see more in the future,
So, but how about mono-compatibility? Every time i try to mix leads it sounds good in stereo but sucks in mono... Can you maybe show how you handle that?
Good tutorial but my only major feedback is to get rid of Kickstart for sidechain. Problem with Kickstart is that any time you have a kickroll or kick not on the 1/4 it's not going to trigger. This essentially means during your kickrolls you'll get clipping issues, so no side chain on a bunch of the punches. Personally I've found an interesting lazy way to do sidechaining to my punches. I've found a side chaining plugin called "Duck" that lets me trigger the sidechaining to a midi input. So I'll draw my kick into the piano roll for Nimble Kick, create a midi out layer and copy the kick notes including the kick rolls. I'll route that to midi port 1 then on "Duck" set the midi input port to port 1. This means anytime there is a kick there will be a sidechain. I could probably make a tutorial for this to explain it better.
Thanks for that video man ! A lot of people like me we'll use it in the future to begin creating music ! My brain hurts though but thats part of the process i guess lmao
A friend of mine has made an emulation of the Virus TI called OsTIrus & I would love you to make some banks & show us some sound design using it. It's Free
Now, i might just be dumb, but i have a question. So the melody that you used in the beginning, was that just to get your Layers right? Because now i have a pattern with a completely different melody, but mostly in the same key and i have no idea what to do with it. because i did do a custom melody like you did in the first minutes of the last part. Dont get me wrong this tutorial is absolutely amazing. But i sometimes feel a bit confused, especially when it comes to doing stuff in the mixer.
Hey I'm very new to FL Studio so sorry if I don't explain it correctly, but why do you have to render out the the pitched kicks with edison to then create kickrolls by splicing the kicks? Can't you create a channel with Nimble kick and then use the piano roll to do the pitched kicks and kickrolls together?
Hey! I'm about to start making some hardstyle/hardcore music and I have never made music in my life. Is vital good enough to make synth, chords, screeches, and plucks for a first song, or do I most likely need some other plug ins for that? Thank you for this video it is very informative and helpful, plug ins are just a bit intimidating due to the price sometimes.
Hey, when I use OTT on my leads, it gets a clicky noise every time a new note starts playing. Even when I have attack on lowest it gives a very short click sound. Any idea what to do about that?
That’s the nature of extreme compression such as OTT, you may be able to get rid of the click by automating the dry\wet of the compressor, so basically cutting off that click, or use a de-click plugin

Two words: quality content.
Always going above and beyond with these videos and packs man! 👏Now its time to produce a ''song from scrath'' 😉🤣
Damn this is quite the video!
Wish this stuff was out there when I started❤
@@Sawer Appreciate that brother 💪

Fragments of this video should be on tiktok so that all the technotokers stop calling hardstyle and its derivatives techno
Bruh that's what my dad calls it
One minute in, but I can already tell this is going to be sick. Love the editing!

This is amazing! Thank you so much for the "from scratch" breakdown! Looking forward to more content like this! ❤
damn bro this is super helpful for my production, thank you so much :DDD
You keep banging bro grtz from belgium
Excellent work ! Love the historic view in this tutorial 🙌🏼
I don‘t understand why you export the Kicks to make kickrolls, because in Nimble Kick you can draw in kickrolls and still change the Sound of the Kick
Makes it a bit easier to visualise the kickrolls, and gives me a bit more creative freedom
I mean, the value that this channel offers to the hardstyle scene... unbelievable man. Awesome job Jim & company 🤌
THANKS MAN ❤
Damn, I appreciate the effort put in this video. The editting must have taken like a week or so? I love it!
Extremely well done👏🏻
This is a really good tutorial !!!And by the way, I think the melody is very nice!
I like that you put GEARBOX as an own genre 🎉😁
But isn’t that called Xtra Raw?
i cant believe this video is free, it feels like stealing :D
Another great video 🔥
This is some high end editing... holy shit bro good job!
Wow a documentary ! Thanks for your work ! 🔥🔥

I don't even make Hardstyle but this is crazy good work, good job man! Makes me wanna make some :O
Same as the youths calling everything techno under 145bpm. 😂.
thanks for all your contents, that's so helpfull
4:03 RISE OF REJECTA
Crazy good video, I liked it a lot.
This tutorial accidentally taught me to write an EBM bassline 😆 (no, not EDM). In any case, an excellent video from start to finish.
LAYER GO WAAAAAAAA
This is a w documental 4 on point samples as a frenchcore i like this alot
Thanks you so much! Seeing how you would handle the process of making hardstyle, really helps me out! ❤
thats the best tutorial for HS all time..
I reccomend Endless Smile! It's amazing for buildups or just effects!
bro now this is proper content thanks for the hard work u put in this video
Great job 🔥🔥🔥

Can you make video about making Xtra-Raw like Gearbox??
Pls do video on leads in cubase

I'm suprised you didn't mention Tevvez or the affect Zyzz had on hardstyle.
amazing tutorials as always! Is there a chance we can get the kick as an FLP?

Kickstart 2 has MIDI trigger
@@OnPointSamples Useful to know, although Duck has much better customization for the sidechain waveform so I find it better overall :)

Do more this series!
10:26 sounds like Exploration Of Space
35:40 that's not Hardstyle, that's Millenium Hardcore.😂
Exactly
My G, this is some amazing editing
Do you edit yourself or do you have an editor? What programs do you use?
How to layering leads chord ecc in one layer in Logic Pro ? It’s different or not ?
I love you GUYS SOOOOO HARD :D
dont make hardstyle but this vid was great.
