My first gambling experience was such a vivid illustration of this. My friend convinced me to go to a casino once, it was a weekday at about 11am and there were only a couple people around. The first game I tried was roulette. A haggard, sweaty 30-something man was at the wheel before us, lost, flew into a rage, and smashed a full glass of vodka on the floor. He was sobbing and shaking and then he was ready to go again. I was scared but more than that I was depressed. My friend gave me money to play (I already didn't want to gamble and now there's this poor man having a total breakdown) and I won $35. I said I was done but my friend said I had to keep playing and got really upset, I was like "did you not just see that???" I never wanted to gamble at all and I witnessed the exact reason. I just played slots until the money was gone so I could leave. He was also really proud of all the comps he had because his parents had lost $20k there. That just boggles my mind. I don't understand why people play games they are clearly meant to lose, but it's a dangerous mentality. This was a ramble but just remembering that makes me sad and angry. I don't even know how anyone can work at a casino. When the guy smashed the glass the waitress just came over and gave him a new one before even cleaning up the broken glass and she didn't even bat an eye. She looked bored and annoyed. I can't imagine seeing that every day to the point where I don't feel anything for a human being whose life is ruined by the business you work for!

Here in the US we do view addiction as an illness. It absolutely is heartwrenching to witness a whole person get shredded to pieces from this illness but i hope Malaysia has the resources to help her overcome this because it is possible but extremely difficult.
Gambling addiction is a lot like drug addiction. Some are born wired to be addicted, and some learn it through life experiences or pick up the habit from a family member or loved one. The sad thing is on average the people who successfully stop, failed atleast 15 times first. It's so easy to trigger a relapse. Using people becomes second nature, you won't bat an eye when you take someone's life savings. Not even when you lose it all the same night. Your to busy thinking about who's money is next
I can always empathize with the insanity of addiction. I can't even sympathize when it comes to basically robbing people blind like that. Nor can I even remotely feel bad for anyone who would consider going to the lengths of kidnapping an ex (or literally anyone!) At knife point for any reason. This is beyond the realms of addiction. This is straight up socio psychopathy.
I disagree. I think you may be coming from a misinformed perspective. Please read this as i think this new info could change your mind somewhat. As someone who has seen addiction firsthand. There are many people who have done just as/more shameful things in their addiction. I'm not saying they are redeemable, but if you sympathize with addiction, you should know this type of behavior is not unheard of and very typical of someone in the throes of addiction. It's totally okay to decide you cannot support or be near the person with addiction, but you also have to realize this is not the real person who is operating, to them, reality is distorted. It's very immature and hurtful of them, definitely, but not psychopathic necessarily. They do not see anything, but themselves and what they think is their way to be happy/survive i.e. their addiction. Of course, their behavior is wrong and bad, and they should be held accountable. However, sobriety may show you a genuine human who made some grave mistakes. I am sorry if this sounds harsh, I am very impassioned. I really hope you understand where I am coming from. Please have a good day and I hope this info will leave you with a new perspective
She is psychopath not just addict. She is narc may be bcs of her beauty everyone is adoring her we can see clearly she is narc and her behavior n character everything is narc
@@sabbie_statI wholeheartedly disagree with you, 100%. Nope, nope nope!!! I too have firsthand experience witnessing addiction and the person who was addicted was not a young person either. He started at a fairly early age and every decision he made was his own and was not about being in throws of addiction. He had very loving parents who did everything in their power to help, and gave him every opportunity to deal with his addiction. He chose the drugs every time, and was most certainly a psychopath. The things he did were morally repugnant and definitely psychopathic. If it's you that did those things as an addict, I have no sympathy for you. 🤨
As Malaysian Malay, I haven’t even heard of this case, this feel so unreal that Stephanie is covering a Malaysian story. 😊 btw the current government is working on decriminalisation of suic*** and hopefully they figure something out soon cause the law is pretty messed up😢

PLEASE SIP ON SOME TEA AS YOU SPILL THE TEA! The comfiness of the "set" and the fucking drama deserves a nice tea action. it checked everything i needed. I would love to see the addition of you drinking a nice hot tea, iced tea, bubble tea, any tea (or beverage). Keep some sort of mukbangish energy. Love you girl, ill buy you a handbag.
Coming from someone who's dealt with addiction their whole life, it's not fair for them to blame their friend for not helping out that "last time" because it probably wouldn't have been the last time. Unfortunately, it sounds like they haven't hit rock bottom yet, so they're going to have a rude awakening! Addiction is a disease, but it's not one to blame on others. We choose to start, but the addiction forbids so many from stopping.🌹

Stephanie: you guys asked for a time stamp for when the story begins so I’m saying it begins now! Also Stephanie: continues to ramble on for almost 4 minutes of non story related information 😅
I worked at Genting a few years back (albeit in the hotel line & not the casino) and just to make a distinction, only *Malaysian Muslims* are not allowed to gamble or even enter the casino. Foreign Muslims have a free pass, and tourists from the Middle East loves "visiting" the casino. How do I know this for sure? I was a receptionist for one of the hotels there (clue: the biggest hotel with the most rooms in the world) and the hotel has a small reception counter inside the casino so the guests can check-in easily (guests play in the casino while waiting for their turn to check-in, because the waiting time could be as long as 3 hours) without having to go out of the casino and walk downstairs all the way to the hotel lobby. Obviously during check-in, I would need their booking details, and of course, their passports, so yeah, there's no way I would mistake the guests' country of origin.. also, taking pictures or recording videos in the casino is highly forbidden and will get you kicked out and blacklisted (there's even a warning sign at the casino entrance), so if you want to take pics or vids, don't get caught (which is a hard feat considering the hundreds of CCTVs covering every few inch of the casino ceiling & walls).
I can't eat a lot of different foods, so I try to fast forward as much as I can to the story, but she still eats while talking and i don't mind. She is so nice and very smart, but if it was just a mukbang, I wouldn't watch it. She's my favorite UA-camr! She has so much empathy, that I sometimes worry about her mental health. I'm glad she has such a great support system around her. I love her family and her husband. Such great people!
YESSS!!!! Oh my goddd I've been watching her vlogs forever and been into Rotten Mango, but I only recently started watching her mukbangs for the influencer stories, especially how enthusiastic you are when talking about them and MMB's reactions!!! Perfect timinggg AHHH so excited for Midnight Mangooo!!! ❤❤❤🎉🎉
Addiction is so debilitating no matter if it's drugs or gambling it's a sickness it's so unfortunate that it makes the sick person hurt the ones around them family and strangers alike that's why it's so important to get help before you hurt more people because you are never just hurting yourself
So I’m guessing her thinking wasn’t “I’m scamming fans for the bags… I’m just borrowing the money.” Bc she figured she’d come up w the money to refund the ones she owed …wish I could’ve told her “girl. That is not how life works. It’s not that easy”
Totally agree with you telling the story without food I'm late to this channel so i search for videos without mukbang because it's so distracting and at top of that it made me super duper hungry when my intention is hearing a story so you're indirectly causing me a lot of damage for the past three days😂
The way Stephanie said "Genting Highland Casino " is so cute. BTW being Malaysian I never heard this story probably because we have too many scandals in Malaysia during Covid. I enjoy listen to it 😊

Sadly some people have something in their makeup that makes them prone to addiction .. it's sad because no matter what they are addicted to .. they will beg , borrow and steal whatever they can .. and from anyone they can ... to feed that addiction... until they are so far gone , it starts to seriously affect their mental health ..

She occasionally changes the name of her channel and her name on her social media accounts.

Using people becomes second nature, you won't bat an eye when you take someone's life savings. Not even when you lose it all the same night. Your to busy thinking about who's money is next
Celebrity gossip is Stephanie's niche👏🏻 ain't no one does it the way you do!!!!! Love you SOOOOOO much steph ❤
😊 btw the current government is working on decriminalisation of suic*** and hopefully they figure something out soon cause the law is pretty messed up😢
I know right.. I have never heard of her.. ever... hahaha...
Malaysian Chinese usually suka buat drama punya, to be fair, just saying this as a Malaysian Chinese.

Stephanie, I'm from Malaysia and I just presented this influencer's case a week ago 😭😭😭😭 I'm so happy at this coincidence
seeing Stephanie so happy makes me so so so happy I’m really happy for her
Same. I love her so much. She inspires me to be happy and as joyful as she is.

Gurl, i love your storytelling with or without food. So, do what best for you mentally and physically. If with mukbang, you feel so much fun, keep it, if without mukbang you still have fun, it’s okay too. In fact, your chaotic mukbang is a great content too
Same steph, I’ve missed midnight mango so much I love them!!! It’s such a vibe, I love the vibe you set for all your videos, but midnight mango vibe is definitely one of my faves. Love you & all your content steph. Thank you for being you and sharing your amazing personality with all of us 💗💗💗 hope you’re enjoying married life!!
i love this format!!!!! great for when i’m not feeling the heavier cases, but still want a non mukbang to watch. love this!
STEPHANIE! you have been working HARD! we all love and appreciate you so much biss, please make sure you’re not stretching yourself too thin! take care of yourself 🩷
I'm Malaysian and I don't even know this case before this. So glad you covered this case!
Gotta love it when Stephanie fill us in with the drama
This is not just about a gambling addiction..this is deep rooted mental health issues 😅
FYI, as in May of 2023, attempted suicide is no longer a crime in Malaysia. ❤
i love these chill videos feels like we're in the same room having a juicy gossip pls
the more i watch about these type of stuff, it makes me feel so uncomfortable that some people out there just have this cruel stubborn way of thnking and doing bad things while never thinking it's bad. it's just bafflng and honestly scary bc you will never understand what goes on their head and what they could do to u
PLEASE SIP ON SOME TEA AS YOU SPILL THE TEA!
The comfiness of the "set" and the fucking drama deserves a nice tea action.
it checked everything i needed. While ive watched you for a while now, i must say that this has been my favorite video. I do prefer this type of vibe compared to the mukbangs. However! I would love to see the addition of you drinking a nice hot tea, iced tea, bubble tea, any tea (or beverage). Keep some sort of mukbangish energy.
Love you girl, ill buy you a handbag.
Omg yessss!!! Just a warm cozy vibe like we're at a sleepover and she's just dishing out the most scandalous tea! Love the vibe of this idea!❤
im a malaysian and this story was so interesting back when this story was so so famous. Your points are on point
We choose to start, but the addiction forbids so many from stopping.🌹
thankyou steph for covering Malaysian cases 😂❤ felt seen and heard by you i hope you will be covering more of them in the future. Godspeed mango 😂😂
Yesss same here, I rmb I used to be a fan of ybb
"I'm not mad at you" what a narcissist!!!!
timestamp at 3:43 😅
Love you biss❤Thank you so much for your consistent uploads!! I'm sure it's not easy, so I just want you to know that I appreciate all the work that you and your team does to serve us such fire content and bring awareness to various issues happening around the world. Also, your microwave looks really cool

steph, i love your videos and all the research that goes into them. as someone who spent a majority of her life in malaysia, i feel so good when i see something about malaysia, even when it's not exactly peachy. i love how nice you are about all cultures and minorities
omg a malaysian here, i knew about her when i was a teen but never really get into the influencer thing and i was literally surprised to hear about this lol
I remembered all these unraveled during covid lockdown. We had all the time in the world to digest the information. Many memes were made. It was so unhinged 😂😂
i didn't realize how much i love true crime until i started watching you 3 years ago, and i thank you for being you. Thank you for putting smiles on my face. May God bless you and your family :)
Omg I'm happy that you covered a Malaysia's case huhu happy Malaysian here 🙋🏻♀️
I heard saw this case before it was all over the (Malaysia's) internet when it happened now I'm here to watch Stephanie tell the whole case ❤
I love that you’re talking about more South East Asian cases!!
stephanie !! i like any way you film your videos but don’t change your mukbang style i love watching you guys try the food in the beginning!!
Once you discover Stephanie Soo and her 3 channels, there is no way back! you have to watch all her content!
I've been binge watching your videos non-stop for the past two weeks and they are all great, especially the ones on Rotten Mango.
Thank you for everything you are doing, I learned a lot and I had so much fun hearing all your stories! ❤❤
May I know what is the other one? I only knew Stephanie Soo, Rotten Mango and Missmangobutt thooo
@@Keyam96_ yes that's what I meant, there's no fourth channel I think
I feel so cozy with this lay out :)
I think with any addiction there’s always something deeper going on. I do wonder what got her to that place and what’s the culture around getting help?
I think you're one of the only people who actually mentioned the fact of Malaysia being ethnically diverse with 3 main races, so as a Malaysian, thank you lmao.
Also lala isn't technically a bad word, essentially its the chinese malaysian version of an uwu girl 😂
😂😂😂 aaaaand it's unisex so both guys and girls get their share to use this title
I know someone who had a gambling addiction and they started to go into shady businesses… One time they tried to get one of my friend to click some link. We were so worried and told the friend to not click any links. It gets worse not better so hope she gets real help
Thank you so much for bringing this back. Especially because I cannot do mouth noises and chewing so I don't watch your mukbangs. Please continue this!!!
learning new cases through stephanie is my fav part of going on youtube honestly
I am becoming addicted to those celebrities/influencers scandals that you cover. Also love the setting but I do miss the mukbang! you always come up with crazy recipes that I am always dying to try.
i havent watched her in awhile. do you know why she stopped?
Asian influencer drama spoiled me cause now western influencer dramas feel lukewarm.
I feel like Stephanie is just chillin, doing her thing, being amazing as always, while Bjork is sitting just off camera & completely vibing with this story.
Gotta love Stephanie @ 0:28, when she says that's the timestamp for the start of the story...but it actually turns out to be @ 3:45, lmao!! 😂❤😊
I absolutely adore stephanie's vibe. It genuinely feels like im listening to a friend
Gambling, online or offline, is dangerous. The one I know made bizarre excuses for all the lost money.
i love the editing sooo much it's just a lil different but so good jane and Stefan did such a good job on it
As a Malaysian, I feel so weird (in a very good way) listening to Malaysian stuff on this channel 😂. Btw, Malaysian culture explanation was spot on 👌
I MISSED MIDNIGHT MANGO SOOO MUCH
edit: LOVE the revamp too, the name goes so well w the vibe cuz its like we're staying up late at a sleepover and sharing juicy stories 😩🫶🏽 LOVEEEE this
Stephanie: you guys asked for a time stamp for when the story begins so I’m saying it begins now!
Being thrown in jail for trying to end it, kinda reminds how in old France, you were punished for trying to end it by public hanging
OMG love these influencer drama pods and pleasantly surprised to see a Malaysia case being covered❤
Addiction is so debilitating no matter if it's drugs or gambling it's a sickness it's so unfortunate that it makes the sick person hurt the ones around them family and strangers alike that's why it's so important to get help before you hurt more people because you are never just hurting yourself
I love watching these videos. Especially when I’m alone at home it feels like I’m on FaceTime with a friend and I don’t feel alone.
Omaigosh I’m a Malaysian, this story was a wild one. Never thought you’ll be covering this! Btw love u steph ❤
So I’m guessing her thinking wasn’t “I’m scamming fans for the bags… I’m just borrowing the money.” Bc she figured she’d come up w the money to refund the ones she owed …wish I could’ve told her “girl. That is not how life works. It’s not that easy”
Totally agree with you telling the story without food
I'm late to this channel so i search for videos without mukbang because it's so distracting and at top of that it made me super duper hungry when my intention is hearing a story so you're indirectly causing me a lot of damage for the past three days😂
The way Stephanie said "Genting Highland Casino " is so cute. BTW being Malaysian I never heard this story probably because we have too many scandals in Malaysia during Covid. I enjoy listen to it 😊
“Family accuses Duncanville police of excessive force, says man was severely beaten during arrest” please talk about this case this my home town and it’s not getting a lot of news coverage. This 21 year old had his spine broken in 3 places.
Hi Stephanie I hope that you know that you have gotten me through some really tough times just recently my uncle died it was really slow and painful for everyone and watching you was just so comforting I always look forward to your videos.
I'm not a malaysian, but a singaporean, so close enough. I followed this influencer and her friends before this incident took place so this kinda hits home-ish. Pleasantly surprised to see you covering it!
Midnight mango, confessions, aita, bam, and mukbangs are all good.. You're such a good story teller.. Thank you for creating well thought off, creative and great videos.. Kudos!!! 💛👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
" the story starts now " i felt so attacked 😅😂😂😂😂
I watch so much of your videos I got a Chinese McDonald’s ad 😂
im LICHERALLY at work & i usually run a little marathon of ur podcasts & mukbangs & today, i realized i have watched almost every single one of them bc i couldnt find something new TT love you stephhhhh!!
im scared that she will get rid of the mukbang 😭😭 it’s my meal time entertainment
You put in so much effort into all your channels love you lots
midnight mango is really cozy, and tbh, more time with you telling stories is a win in my book
her podcast is so comforting to me and MIDNIGHT MANGO IS BACKKKK😊
I knew a Malaysian UA-camr. A friend of hers said she had hacked her UA-cam account and deleted all her videos. I never found out if that was true, but narcissistic traits which gradually revealed themselves led to me torpedoing the friendship. She's still active and still has some followers. She occasionally changes the name of her channel and her name on her social media accounts.
Andrew’s text “Is there a coupon code or should I make them watch your videos and find it themselves” 😂
Sadly this is poor upbringing. She thinks she is entitled.
Stephanie and her team deserve everything!! 😭
Yes!!! I followed this YBB story but since I don’t understand Chinese my info was very limited. TQ for covering this story 😅 and I love this form of video more cause I have to admit the mukbang one’s distracting. So hope to see more of this soon ❤
I had Chinese in my spm and it isn't helping 😂 here I am , 2 years late trying to understand the whole story
