I think I liked the old setup more, it just felt a bit better made. With the shaky cam it just looks like every other battle report, while the old one felt more professional and stood out more
Gnarrf I think so too!
Solid personality, short games... truly some of the best batreps on UA-cam !
The old format is what brought me to your chanel. It is distinctive and fast. The real opponent definately bring reality to the batreps but destroys the flow. Maybe make them do their own voiceovers, but in your condensed style.
Loved the format with guest. No reason why you can’t have both. Thanks for the video. Can’t wait to see more!
Hey! This was great! Loved the humour and personality that came through. Fantastic camera/editing work as always. Your brother was a great guest! I'd love to see more of these along with your normal battle reports as well. The post game chatter was a good addition too. Keep these up! They are the best out there! As an aside: I enjoy the casual games with the emphasis on fun vs correct/ideal lists and I liked the furies in the Legions of Nagash army :)
Appreciate it Sean!
That was a nice change and would like to see some more videos with guests.
It looks like your brother got a grip on the game after first round and made a good point about being able to know what you need to down a model.
Pijamas Gagarin he did a fantastic job! I even accidentally cheated a bit and he still kicked my butt... 😑
@@DiceChatter hehe, this is what brothers are for. ;)
Also I like the way you did this video with your brother/guest. The post battle report is a cool idea too. Still really enjoy that you stick to the game and it's quick but very informative as well 👍🏽
I enjoyed this battle report (as I've enjoyed all your batreps), the interraction between the pair of you was a nice addition to the format. It would be good to see more 2 player battle reports, though I'd appreciate less shaky cam next time!
When the Fury was on the top of the bell tower, an Unmade fighter could have used their first action to climb the ladder and their second action to make an attack. They'd fall at the end of their activation but it may have been enough to knock the Fury off the objective.
The new format works well for me, as it adds more character but still keeps the game relatively short 🙂
I know I am late to he party but I am just catching up to all your content. I like both ways but I really like the post game report. We get to see a little personality and more humor!!!
Thanks a bunch Chris! Glad you like the report. When I have other folks on, I will definitely take your advice into account.
Another Great battle report ! I like your cute but creepy guest, very good format please keep the good work, it makes me want to play and paint more and more !
I love your battle reports, because of the extra time put into editing.
When a fighter is activated there's one continuous close up shot and the dice rolls are overlayed ontop, then you cut to the next activation.
Because you don't zoom out and pan or cut to a dicetray and then back to the board every turn, the video is focused and quick.
They're just easy to watch, always leaves me wanting more.
Since you did all that in this episode too, I don't think having a guest was intrusive.
One thought on this game:
At 13:40 instead of passing, I think the unmade under the objective could climb the ladder and attack, then fall back down and roll impact damage.
I like both!!!! I like how your batreps are quick, show the dice rolls, and have great painted models!!
I liked this. Has a very casual feel to it. I will say that I enjoy the quality polish of your solo reps, but they're both great formats, and there's honestly nothing wrong with have a bit of both.
I like the format, but you'll have to do something about the camera shake when you go handheld -- start by stabilizing footage in post, and consider a gimbal or a well-articulated tripod head. Good luck and keep up the great job.
Great bat rep as always. Additional content is cool.
Your production is top notch either way. Good camera work, audio and post production effects is what keeps me coming back. Your personality doesnt hurt either. Keep uo the good work.
I enjoyed the batrep. some moments of slightly shakey camera, but the guest was fun. I had only just recently realized you were like, playing against yourself. Nice to get a face to that radio voice you've got going on bro.
Brian Cranmer agree with you about the shakiness. When I decide to do this again, I’ll go with more steady shots as that is what looks better.
I appreciate you trying something new, but I have to say I prefer the old format more. Going from banter to voiceover and back breaks the immersion for me. It might be good to introduce the guest at the beginning, do your old format for the game, and then do a post show sit down like you did in this one. Otherwise, I love you batreps and would love to see more of them!
cmarkra yes, I second that!
If you keep with this format consider a tripod or something that will keep the camera steady.
If he's playing against someone he should do this format otherwise it would be annoying trying to film and just playing a game of warcry
You both seemed a lot scarier than both groups put together. Lmao. Love these videos. Keep it up.
Enjoyed the show! Your editing is great in particular. Love the cutouts for abilities/fighter cards/cards/dice trays.
Saw a few people mentioned the onslaught change (3"+), but a character can only use 1 ability per activation UNLESS they are the last model on the board. When the Blissful One popped the double (onslaught) then they shouldn't have been able to use the quad after. I think it was called "desperate last stand" in the core book.
Of course, it was cooler that it did... My bud and I realized we were doing a lot of stuff wrong we're slowly trying to iron out. If you're doing something for fun though that isn't strictly legal per the rules, can you call it out? I was pretty confused about all the furies until I dug into the other comments.
Keep them coming! You got a sub from me =)
Happy to see you playing with someone! Just an idea, if your playing with someone you could put the camera on a tri pod and set it up near the mini
Loved it, the format was still extremely similar to when you play solo
Concise, with plenty of editing
Love it, do more please
Really like your batreps. This guest format was pretty fun too. And I’m not sure if anyone has said, but impact damage is 3 hit points on a six. It’s 1 hit point on 4-5. No problem, just thought I’d be THAT guy. Thanks for the entertainment, man 😊
Guest is best. Also Onslaught now only plays to attacks ranger 3" or less as per the Warcry FAQ. And if you want more balanced missions you can find them in the Matched Play section of the book.
Phalanx167 crappy part is I knew the rule change... 😑 Ah well, mistakes happens.
I enjoy these greatly! Look forward to watching every week!!!
it was good! you are able to keep what is good with your solo games. the free hand filming could be better though. just slightly would make the viewing experience much nicer ☺️ I'll be looking forward to more solo games and two human games! specially if they bring their own figures 😋
Nice seeing something more lighthearted. Bringing in a new player is always fun! A couple of errors were noted in terms of game play but that's not a big deal. I do like the style of your older battle reps better, but this style is also good. Having guests on and slowing the game down a bit can work out pretty well.
I would like to see more guest videos in a campaign series.
Duck Drake appreciate the feedback. Yeah we filmed this a little while back and became aware of the couple rules mishaps, but no biggie we tend to play very casual. And we shall see about a campaign series!
Have to say I'm with the old format side, however its refreshing to see guests. Maybe it's worth doing a brief pre match welcome/chat, then film your batrep in the old format and finish with an endgame chat. That way you could time-stamp the batrep for those that are not interested in the rest
So if this is being put to a vote, I vote Yes for more like this, found this very entertaining and like it better than your solo battles, not that they were bad, but this is better...look forward to more!
Reminds me of me and my brother - love the vids dude! Cheers! 🍻
At 7:32 the spear guys only have 2 attacks. So he rolled twice as many dice as he should have.
Another thing to note. A model doesn't fall from climbing until the end of it's activiation. Meaning the Joyous one could climb up the the tower and make their attacks. Then fall at the end of the attack.
I love your intros, so funny!
It was a fun episode! I liked it just as much as your regular ones! The only thing I hate in batreps is when it drags out to 60mins runtime due to showing unnecessary stuff and excessive banter. (Some is cool, but too much gets annoying imo ;x)
I liked it. Some of the birdseye camera work was a bit shakey/disorienting but apart from that it was lighthearted and fun
The format is good and the sound is great. The content is also great with cut outs for the dice rolls, and ability usage. These are areas where other channels fail. Bits were out of focus and shaky but hey I'm just being picky!
I concur with cmarkra. I think having the introduction and banter at the beginning works great, but sticking with your formula for the actual gameplay. I imagine it would take more time, since you'd have to coordinate shots and angles with your opponent, but I think it would pay off more in the long run.
I think the post-game is a great idea. It gives you a chance to be entertaining, as well as discuss tactics, things you would do different, and bounce ideas off another person. Just make sure that they actually look at the camera every once in a while. Still a quality batrep as usual. The quality of your picture, shots, audio, environment, and smoothe even lighting really make your batreps stand out. With a little work, I think your channel could be right up there with guys like Tabletop Tactics and Miniwargaming. Either way you take this thing though, I'm subscribed.
The video was nice and enjoyable... i understand that you dont use a steady camera on tripod (or more than one) but you have it on hand.. even so the "shake" is not so bad so cogratz on the video... i personally would like to see more competitive list but thats just personal preference
I would like to do more comp lists as well too. Unfortunately it takes time and money to construct and paint those lists... at this time I use what I have.
@@DiceChatter an excelent reason if i may add... thnx for the content guys.
I like two styles of videos, but for the new one I think tripod would be good. Shaking camera isnt good.
Heya, I Liked the presentation. Quick question tho: How did you achieve these goldenish black masks? They look really good and I'm looking for inspiration for my own unmade Warband.
I also like both style of battle rep, got me into the game!
Errata'd Onslaught doesn't work on 3+ inch attacks.
Maciej Janowski you are absolutely right on that one! Goofed on that...
Did you paint your blissful one to look like skeletor? I love it
I did not, but now I cannot unsee it! Wahhhhh!
@@DiceChatter Unmade vs Untamed Beasts, Its Skeletor vs He-Man
This was...enjoyable.
I am view number 1, I am like number 1, I am Dice Chatter's biggest fan *flutters eyes*
Aww Nate, you making me blush 😍
NO I AM I WILL SCRATCH YOUR EYES OUT *pulls hair*
@@RerollingOnes *screeech* how dare you
Good format. Enjoyable vid. Interesting game.
Guest format is best, shows the fun roleplay side of the game, not just tactics of winning.
However...
Non-chaos warbands cannot use furies.
This is the reason why furies are limited to a small number/territories, they change the game.
Legions of nagash is a swarm warband with rules balanced towards that fact, bringing furies was maybe not the best choice. You did balance it by taking the weaker choice of skeleton champion ( still has a nice ability) rather than seneschal.
I would very much like to see a rematch between these factions with the same two players and using the real legitimate rules. Would be more fun to see.
. A "grudge match" if you will.
Please consider taking 1-2 seneschals and 6+ grave guards with great wight blade ( ggwgwb is the highest damage output for points cost in the game * was, before recent releases, im not 100 on that rn)
Or take exactly 14 fighters including the necromancer ( max warband size unless you are doing campaign) and show us your zerg swarm skills ).
Unmade player, show them your face. With luck you will control the entire battle. Your leader is absolutely top tier damage output. Roll them crits.
Please play rematch?
I preferd this format, it's way more social and you can see humanbeings :)
Doing well, keep doing more batreps. I suggest doing something to reduce the camera shake.
Pedro Dodero Escalante I usually do a still shot for the attack sequences. Definitely will not stray away from that again in the future!
@@DiceChatter keep experimenting tho. Looking forward to the next batrep
IT's good, but a lot of unnecessary camera movement. Maybe if you could use some fixation to camera it could be a lot better. Thank you, for report!
I enjoyed it 👍
I prefer the old format so far. Having a guest is fine but the quality of the shots seems diminished at times. A tripod may help? Thanks for trying something new!
The Unmade are MUCH scarier!
Isn't the point of a Necromancer to re-raise the skeletons, so they can attack again?
Hm... is it even legal to bring furies in matched play?
the rule is 1 ally per captured territory in a campaign game (or just1 in Matched and Open Play) and when it comes to monsters you can have 1 monster in matched games if you play with the open match rules
Yeah, cheated in my first game with a guest! 😬. Even though we are playing a “matched” play game, I still do things quite casual.
@@Anexelegtos That's what I thought, thanks^^
@@DiceChatter I mean, as long as it is a casual game, I don't feel like doing something different is too bad^^
@@WlLDEHlLDE update because i want to be completely accurate.. Fury is both a monster and a thrall so it uses these rules "In campaigns, you’re allowed one card with the Thrall runemark per territory you control."
Can Dolores be a recurring guest?
Question.. can u use chaos beast for legions of nagash?
Technically no... I cheated, but when you play pretty casual it isn't the end of the world.
I prefer the old format. I generally find that battle reports are much better when the creators don't film themselves . It's why I like your videos in the first place.
But it's your gig dude, so do it how YOU like to do it.
If you did decide to forge ahead this way, I would suggest you try and avoid the shaky camera at all costs.
Too bad the fly rules are kept from Sigmar. I love Warcry but the fly rules are extremely dumb. Distances should be measured from starting point to landing point in a direct line (if possible) and not just measure horizontally and completely ignore vertical movements...
I hate that you can basically move the vertical distance for free if your movement is just enough to reach the base of the terrain piece.
Enough ranting, great battle report as usual!
Old style MUCH better!
I love your intros
