  • September in the Pacific Northwest is the transition month between Summer and Fall, so I took full advantage of some free days off for some Seattle Subdivision train action, before the weather turns South! Per the usual, I caught various Sounder, Amtrak Cascades, and BNSF trains.
    In addition to the usual spots, I managed to try out some new shots in the Auburn and Downtown Seattle area listed in the video.
    All locations and trains listed in video. Hope you enjoy!
    Thanks for watching! | Video and Content by MichaelLovesTrains 2021

    All those Sounder F59PHIs (except 905) have really good K5LAs. Still wanting to head up to Washington and see them in action soon.

      911 also has a kind of off sounding K5LA.

      The MP40s there are just like GO Transit’s. They have horrible sounding K5CA-LS but they alternate between emergency horn and regular (3 and 5 chime)

      If only the Sounder MP40s had the decent K5LAs that GO Transit 600 through 626 were originally built with.

      @@superbaddy4 That would have been good but sadly GO transit replaced those K5LAs

    What kind of horn do those cab cars have

      They're called K5CA-LS. They're basically K horns tuned by Satan to sound as horrible as possible.

    Why the some of the Sounder trains has two engines?

    • @intergalactic_butterfly
      @intergalactic_butterfly 2 роки тому +3

      Two locomotives offer greater acceleration, which can be useful for commuter trains that often stop. Additionally, since Sounder increased the length of their trains for better distancing of passengers, a single locomotive may not be able to easily pull or push all the passenger cars.

      @@intergalactic_butterfly@manuels89 not exactly. Two engines were provided at the height of the pandemic, to ensure social distancing for the train crew.
