I've named certain days of the week by the task I need to do on that day . ie; fertilizer Friday , weeding Wednesday, sadistic Sunday ( I look for bugs and snails then I take care of them ☠) , mowing Monday ... lol, it really helps me remember . Happy Gardening 👩🌾
Hi Jenny, Many thanks for this wonderful video filled with so much great information and “how to” tips. You really are the best! Your gardens are gorgeous, as always. That Magnolia bloom is everything! One of my favorite trees, for sure. Take care. 👌🪴🥰
Sorry, I ask them where their proven winners are and Land and Sea. They say we know who you ladies are watching and we are trying to get the products that you need. I’ve proved to my neighbors how it works. Thanks for teaching me how to care for my plants. ❤
Dear, Jenny♥️. Thank you for teaching a Life Long Learner in zone 8b. I appreciate your inclusive channel of “Welcome All” to “Grace in Gardening “. My garden has tripled in size showing amazing growth in size and beauty! God bless you, Jerry, and the Creekside team♥️.
Greetings from Ireland, Great video We have been gardening twenty years and we are lucky that we can make our own compost and mulch the flower beds with it every February. We also add a handful of fish blood and bone meal around each plant at the same time and the plants do not get anything else until the following February. We have fifty two containers of perennials and six containers of annuals and they get tomato feed once a week.
Hi Jenny! Similar to this video, can you also put together a video on pest and fungus control in the home garden. I suffer greatly from Japanese Beetles, bud worms, spider mites, powdery mildew, etc. I am always so excited this time of year with my garden and new plant purchases. By early July, I am over it with needing to control things destroying all of my hard work. The struggle is real.....
Thank you for clarifying fertilizing in rainy areas. We typically are rainy here in CT too, and I never really knew if I should give water soluble fertilizer to my annuals in between all the rain, so I didn't. Now I know I should and will definitely do that this season. THANKS!!!
I love how you answered all the questions that popped up while watching your video. You are definitely the best garden teacher on UA-cam. Jenny, you like me. I always wear gloves when using fertilizer and tell my mom, too. She is prone to touching her face. I'm a mama's boy and don't want anything to happen to her. Also, Thank you for saying Jack is okay. I've been looking for PW fert up here in upstate New York, but no one has it. They have Jacks and Espoma only. And I don't know anyone on UA-cam who uses or talks about it.
Thanks. Very informative. I’m from central New York zone 6a and hosting a wedding Labor Day weekend. Planting tons of shrubs, annuals, perennials and will try to keep them all looking great until then. This was a big help as well as your previous segment on whacking annuals back later in the season. Wish me luck.
That was the BEST video I've watched about fertilizing. I just did my weekly fertilizing yesterday morning. On a side note, one of my Japanese Maples had experienced some winter damage and was looking a little sad. I fertilized it in early spring with Tree Tone and OH MY GOSH! It is looking amazing. I had never fertilized it before and what a difference it made. It has been a little challenging this year with all of the rain (I'm in Georgia). Dealing with more pest and fungal issues than I ever have before. Would love to see a video on how you deal with those issues.
OK, I’m just gonna say it. I love myself some Jenny/gardening with Creekside nursery,my garden is 100 times better after watching your videos so thank you thank you thank you! 🙏🏽 ❤
Same here 🙋❤️💐 anybody out there in North Carolina wants to watch a informative and highly entertaining garden show pull on up to the gardening with creekside table 🍽️❤💐 cause you will not be disappointed 🏆👏👏👏👏👏
Thankyou Jenny for sharing your comprehensive insight on fertiliser! We are lucky enough to have very nutrient rich soil where I live ( western norway) -sorry! 😂 , but we still like to fertilise the garden with a ( non smelly ) chicken compost each spring. It helps our flowering shrubs especially to put on a lovely show of colour each season 😊
Jenny this was so helpful. Thank you. Even after all these years I was confused why you fertilize every week v once a year and time release v water soluble. All very clearly and simply explained. Much appreciated.
Jenny and Jerry thank you so much for what all y'all do at creekside and especially for us North Carolina gardeners we have learned so much for watching yall❤.... We thought when we saw plant tone when we first started watching yall quite a while ago and it is amazing stuff 🥳 but discovering the biotone is a game changer we started using that last year oh my gosh it made such a huge difference anybody out there on the fence about using it you'll be amazed because we've always done water soluble fertilizer Epsom salt compost but the plant tone and the biotone 🤯 mind blowing!!!!!!!! Y'all are wonderful ❤ we wish you all the best from yalls Eastern neighbors in Johnston county NC 🙋🥂❤️💐
Great info as always 🥰 Yes, here in the NC Sandhills where we truly garden in sand, regular fertilizing is the difference between a ho-hum garden and one that is spectacular. I started planting annuals with Biotone a few years ago when you first suggested that. Wow, what a difference. Our huge old magnolias in the village of Pinehurst are currently covered in blooms right now. So pretty!! Thanks, Jenny.
This has been a great reminder that I need to get outside TODAY with my watering can and water soluble. Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow. The procrastinator's motto! LOL And Brinna is keeping you from being savaged by viscous rogue rabbits. Good Girl Brinna!!
Thank you Jenny!!! This will be a video I refer to again - it really did de-mystify things. Clearly I do not fertilize enough!!!! Particularly my annuals, so I am excited to give them a boost this year. I never really thought about the impact of lots of rainfall (which we have had here on Cape Cod this year), so will definitely remember that. You are a wonderful teacher and I really appreciate this video. Your gardens look beautiful. ❤❤
Years before watching this channel I honestly believed my hanging baskets were only supposed to live for 6 - 8 weeks! I didn't understand the importance of fertilizing until I started watching this channel! My neighbors all thought I had a green thumb back then too. Lol! I've come so far! Thanks Jenny & Jerry!!!
Your place is GORGEOUS!!! I live in Illinois, zone five but have always loved the Carolinas. Really great information on fertilizers. Thanks so much! You explained it in easy to understand terms. We have been pretty dry in Illinois the last few years. Too little rain is as damaging as too much rain. I wanted to cry along with you when you showed the video of all your flooded gardens. Last year my yard got five hail storms in the spring. The last one had golf ball size hail! As you can imagine it devastated my garden which is mostly shade with lots of huge hosta. This year the hosta look great. Plants are resilient. Really enjoy your videos. Hugs!
The emphasis on rain with containers really helped. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we often have rain part of every day. I now try to give a shot of the liquid fertilizer once every couple of weeks.
We want to thank you both for teaching us about the importance of fertilizer. We have 5 spirea (unknown brands-not PW) that we have had 4-5 years. They looked awful and I was ready to pull them. At some point during the winter or early spring, you were talking about fertilizing shrubs, and so in early spring I put down Rosetone. Same thing with a no name Hydrangea that averaged 1-3 blooms a year. Oh my gosh you just can’t imagine the difference. The spirea is getting ready to bloom again and it’s growing-the hygrangea has at least 20 blooms on a 3 1/2-4’ tall shrub!Thank you so much!
I've been following your fertilizing tips as close as I can this season, so far so good! My petunias are huge!!! Also, I think coffee cups grows an inch a day! It's 3 times the size it was when it arrived a month ago. ❤
😂 Brenna (is that her name?? Spelled??) is soo cute when she thinks there are rabbits in your planter 😂 She is a beautiful dog 🥰 My German Shepard does similar things but it is the cats she loves to try and chase! Lots of love to you both and your dog (name??) from Sweden 🇸🇪
What an inspirational video! I’m one to stay on top of this chore but it inspired me to go out and do it again. Very informative. I learned that you can do a second application of the proven winners granular mid season. Thanks
I went to Target and bought dog food container. A large bag of Tone fits in them. I have a Proven Winner empty container in each one. Kind of like what Jenny uses. Years ago i seen Jack Barnwell video on fertilizing. Think Jenny visited him on Mackinac Island. He uses PW on his annuals but also uses pump spayer to hit whole plant plus underside of leaves. Been three years and plants look good every year.
Perfect for me today. Planting a bunch of annuals in containers today and just thinking about fertilizers and feeling a little confused about them. -to ably one of the best things you said is “read the bag”. Gonna go do that right now.
Even though I’ve been gardening for a very long time & know I should be fertilizing 🙄 🫢…..but after watching this I’ve learned what & how ! Making a batch in a 5 gallon bucket, duh, why didn’t I think of that 🤦♀️ Also I loved that B 🐾 walked right in front of the camera when you were trying to show a plant 😂😂😂
Very informative video, I took notes! Was just questioning whether I should add slow release fertilizer to my already potted up containers and baskets, and you answered the question. This video couldn't have been more timely.
Great video Jenny 😊we have just had 2 days of heavy rain here outside of Toronto 🇨🇦and I went out at 6 am to put Sluggo pellets on the garden 😂 Deck boxes are looking great! The wedding will be beautiful! ❤
I owe you everything my garden is looking amazing here in Atlanta!!! Thank you so much for all the tips so glad I found this connect Jenny and Jerry rock keep sharing. I love your amazing property ❤️
Absolutely perfect video Jenny! The Espoma fertilizers are my Holy Grail especially Biotone & Plant Tone! Thanks for the bucket 🪣 idea! Fertilizing will definitely be more efficient 🤗
Hi Jenny. I bought browallia from you and love them. I heard that they don’t like a lot of fertilizer. Otherwise they won’t bloom. I use a water soluble fertilizer on my other annuals once a week, but wondered if I should skip feeding them.
Hi Jenny! My rose is in a pot and it is my first and also a David Austin.. I am so confused about how to fertilize! PLEASE help. Please if you can talk about container and potted plants. ❤️
Jenny, I don't know if I missed your talking about it but, what about the wedding? Has it already happened? Will you be showing any pictures/videos? Thanks. 🌻🌺☀️

No, we only use water soluble fertilizer on our annuals not trees, shrubs & perennials. I do however use the water tank to simply water those plants if needed.

Great idea! I’m going to try that now! Happy Gardening! 👍🏻🌸
Love this!!!!!!
That's a good idea
I say this all the time, I know but Jenny! You are the best teacher ever.
I also add in Laura to this ‘I agree’ comment😀
Bravo Jenny!!! Thank You
Jenny, you are made for TV! I just love you! The patio garden is looking AMAZING!!!
Fertilizer makes such a difference in making flowers bloom longer, larger, and in greater numbers! 🌼 🌸 🌻 😀
Yes it does!
Hi Jenny, Many thanks for this wonderful video filled with so much great information and “how to” tips. You really are the best! Your gardens are gorgeous, as always. That Magnolia bloom is everything! One of my favorite trees, for sure. Take care. 👌🪴🥰
Hey Jenny, that was fantastic. I always get confused with the acidic and alkaline plants. That was so informative and encouraging. Thanks Heaps
So glad it was helpful!!!

I'm so glad!

Thanks for sharing!! My 'Little Gem' magnolia is giving me such pretty flowers, LOVE the smell of magnolias!
Yes, me too. We have a large, thriving teddy bear magnolia, but not too many blooms this year😢
Thank you for teaching us and thank you for not fast forwarding! Most of Laura’s videos are fast forwarding!
Brynna is so cute and the blueberries look delicious. Thank you for this video on fertilizing. You explained it so well.
Amazing video, thanks for the Masterclass! 😊

The closed captions on this one were hilarious. When you were talking about Astillbes, the caption said I am trying to steal bees!
The emphasis on rain with containers really helped. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we often have rain part of every day. I now try to give a shot of the liquid fertilizer once every couple of weeks.
Great information on fertilizing All plants. Greatly appreciated your knowledge about fertilizing. Please do more about this

Helpful! A reminder at the right time of year.
Great video - very informative and easy to follow!

This was so informative! Thanks!

Very clear and interesting! From France, near of Normandy
Jenny, this was so informative. Thank you! You are definitely my top choice if I ever need information on plants. 🌻🌷😚
Glad it was helpful!
Love the information. Share on how to fix clay soil to grow fruit trees.
Great information! This is the first year I've had any slug damage. Little buggers ate on my Coleus!! Used Sluggo Plus and it worked great!
so for annuals you use the slow release fertilizer AND water soluble?
Yep!
Very informative video, I took notes! Was just questioning whether I should add slow release fertilizer to my already potted up containers and baskets, and you answered the question. This video couldn't have been more timely.
Great information thanks for sharing!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
❤ this video! Thank you for all the little details you provide that makes all the difference in the world!
Jenny, you are the Best gardener teacher. Great idea with the 5 gallon container. I’m going to do that. Thank You Love your videos. 💐🪴🌺
Love you Jenny! You Always bring a smile to my face 🥰
I so wish we could get these fertilizers in Canada.

Jenny, your gardens are looking fantastic, thank you for sharing your knowledge about fertilizer feeding our plants. Love Brynna the hunter 😂😂❤
Thank you for great information as always 👍 👏👏 these plants are looking great. The blueberries look perfect 😋
Thank you Jenny for all of the information.
Thank you both!
Hi Jenny. I bought browallia from you and love them. I heard that they don’t like a lot of fertilizer. Otherwise they won’t bloom. I use a water soluble fertilizer on my other annuals once a week, but wondered if I should skip feeding them.

Jenny, I don't know if I missed your talking about it but, what about the wedding? Has it already happened? Will you be showing any pictures/videos? Thanks. 🌻🌺☀️
Jenny has the wedding taken place yet?
Jenny i use the PW fertilizers the beads and water soluble fertilizer and love it
How was the weddings??
Thank you for the video, have a great week.
Thank you Jenny! Your gardens, both private and public, are living testimonials to the value of a thorough fertilizing program as all are gorgeous. My questions are about the PW continuous release water soluable fertilizer. Is it a foliar feeding fertilizer as well as a root feeder? Also, in your berm, using the tank sprayer, it looks like you use this product on the trees, shrubs, and perennials too, not just the annuals. Is this a do no harm incidental or is the ratio used for annuals equally beneficial to all? ❤
I believe the Proven Winners Time Release is a foliage/flower fertilizer not necessarily targeting the roots (I could be wrong so don’t quote me on that 😉). No, we only use water soluble fertilizer on our annuals not trees, shrubs & perennials. I do however use the water tank to simply water those plants if needed.
Thank you so much for this video, very very helpful.
The gardens are looking beautiful! How was the wedding? Did I miss a video where you talked about it?
Good morning from a raining day in Ohio.
Thank you for all of the info!! I hadn't thought of using a 5 gallon bucket and that will work great for me. I hate mixing up a new batch every 10 minutes!! Also, how did the wedding go? Hope it was beautiful! I was thinking it was this past weekend to be in May, but maybe this weekend? Anyway, I hope things go well for the Bride and Groom. Your gardens look amazing for the occasion!
I put my 5 gallon bucket in my gorilla cart - I have a bad shoulder and this helps.
I’ve said this before but when I go to my local nursery in Madison,MS t
Sorry I
Jenny, I use an old plastic measuring cup because I love the handle for my fertilizer.
Great idea!
Whst kind of grass in your yards to you use. Beautiful lawns.
This is a great video!!! You covered everything and wow I learned a lot:) Tfs and God bless:)
How should you fertilize if your potting soil already has fertilizer in it?
This very informative! Thanks a lot Jenny
