It has not been years, it's been maybe 1 and a half years tops. It came about due to a couple of fires that happened in the old markets so a rebuild was required. Very similar to Sukawati Market.

Thanks for showing us around. I hate to say it but i think i prefer the old style market. It was dirty and smelly - but it had it's own cool vibe and 'life'. I feel sorry for the people who own the upstairs stores as i am not sure they will get the foot traffic the others get.

What a disgusting change to what was once a fun place to visit. Now you have all these storeholders selling basically the same sort of Bali 'junk' that you can buy anywhere in Bali. Don't waste your time visiting these crass markets.
