I've been to a couple funerals in recent years and I've always felt appropriate in a black midi-length dress with a light grey cardigan over top (plus a neutral coat depending on time of year). It threads the needle of funerals that expect black and funerals where you're not sure. IMO you can't go wrong dressing a bit more conservatively (no mini dresses or cleavage).

Love the hush jumper, I looked online after seeing the Vieve video and found Mint velvet do one and M&S had a cheaper less contrast version

When it’s windy and raining in London I wear a hat and use my umbrella as a shield 🛡️ to save my make up 🤣🤣

I would never ever wear jeans to a funeral.. Don't think it shows respect for the situation. Would just switch out the grey jeans with plain black trousers. Otherwise loved this!
I worked in funerals for years, jeans are extremely common and most families take a more relaxed approach to dress code so jeans are not inherently a big no no, but it depends on the family in question and their wishes.

I especially love your casual outfits. So bummed the chartreuse Arket Beanie is sold out in Germany 😢 the perfec pop of color fur us brunettes imho.
Mostly, for European people, casual dark navy or black and covered if it is religious. It is a part of a culture to wear black, inappropriate clothing feels disrespectful.
I really enjoy these scenario-dressing videos! You have a great casual personal style, however, there are occasions that being dressed a bit smarter is more appropriate. The only area that may be lacking in that scenario is your footwear. Have you tried a lower heeled slingback? A slingback generally looks a bit more sleek and sophisticated but a mid-sized heel or even a kitten heel can dress up a look without being unsteady or uncomfortable like some higher heels might be. Just a thought to give you more comfortable options for dressier occasions. Maybe even a heeled loafer style might fit in your comfort zone but provide a dressier look for those occasions. 🤷🏻♀️❤🥰

As mentioned I think it totally depends on the situation, this will be completely different for different cultures, communities and situation. I’ve had many of my own family funerals and my family have absolutely no preference on what guests wear to our family funerals.
To be fair her coat was long so couldn't see much of the jeans
I love all of these except the rainy/windy day outfit 😅. I mean you’re going to step out the door, you’re umbrella will get wrecked immediately and then you have a wool coat that is going to get soaked and smelly and really heavy. And the snood as well, so your hair will get soaked too. If you live in a rainy country you NEED a nice, big, waterproof coat. with a big hood. Uniqlo do really nice ones!

We’re a no shoes in the house, house. So we invested in slippers for guests to change into. So we also wear slippers.
I always think for a funeral to dress smart and anything smart would be acceptable.. I wouldn’t wear jeans!
I care abt what my parents wear because, from what they wear, we can see how approachable they are and how much we can tell them about their child.

All outfits were perfect for the occasion
Only with the first one i would have changed the shoes into a loafer & added a belt.
So suggestion is belts , preferably 3 different ones
▪︎ 1 brown (tone to your preference light, dark,..) for casual looks
▪︎ 1 black with silver, gold or black hardware
▪︎ finally last 1= 1 with more statement (like the Khaite studded belt but no way 1 pay 800€ for a belt , but i loved it so much , it goes perfectly with my personal style, but although I hate , really hate dupes, i bought the h&m version. Its slimmer then Khaite one but 9,99€ 💁🏻♀️ no brainer ) or another one oc. doesn't have to be studded, just one more statement that instantly adds to a look

I think jeans for a funeral is a hard one. I've experienced it at one before, and we didn't put a dress code, but I did think it looked odd. I didn't want to say anything to that person because I had enough other things to think about. But they might have gone away thinking it was fine, because what are you supposed to say at that moment except if they asked you beforehand? I guess it feels a but like insisting to hard and having a "casual style" instead of dressing for the occasion to me.
But funerals in the UK might be very different from my country, so it might be a different vibe
Yeh I think if you’re not close with the person better to be safe and “smarter”.
Most funerals I go to they want to celebrate the life, some even ask people to wear colour.
I thought the funeral outfit was appropriate, the coat dresses up the outfit and you're "invisible" without being overly casual 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

No, I only used it for this video as I have to stand far away from the camera and so the audio is always really quite, so it keeps the audio consistent whether I’m far or close to the camera

I think that's quite cultural. In Ireland people frequently go to funerals of people in their community or relatives of friends. If you're not in the immediate family jeans are definitely very acceptable. That's the Irish context. Could be very different elsewhere

I also think the colour of the jeans was appropriate and overall saying "jeans isn't appropriate" seems to be taken out of context when you see the actual chosen outfit which was very somber.
I personally wouldn’t either but as Lily said I her experience/culture it’s fine. I’d always wear black trousers/skirt and some kind of colour on top like a grey or darker shade. I think all black should be more for immediate family but still stay respectful.

It’s just not the case though. I’ve been to funerals that have wanted no one in black. Some people find it offensive to dress sad. It DOES depend on the family’s wishes.

It wasn’t for them to wear, it was give me a scenario for me to wear. And I know my friends and family. I think I caveated enough when explaining that the dark grey jeans I wore could easily be swapped for trousers if it was more suitable depending on the funeral. Not everyone requires that. Just like when I often show that it’s normal for my friends and family wear black to weddings and people on the internet get very offended by that. Everyone is different.
Please just stick with Ganni and not "GaRnni"! As a Dane, it has always been Ganni as you say it, so let's stick with the original and not make it farrrncaay.
