Are those wave heights average or peak? Wondering how high "rogue waves" are in relation to the graph. Having lived in Humboldt County for 15 years, I sadly remember how so very often people died from their lack of understanding of how dangerous North Coast beaches are. Thanks for the video!
Individual wave heights are averaged, so rogue waves wouldn't show up. What the NWS shows is the significant wave height, which is the average of the top 1/3 of wave weights over a period. So the very biggest waves would get averaged out. You just have to know they're gonna be there...
Unless you been there, seeing how "slow motion" that is you just can't tell the size. Great video!

You bet. That's "significant wave height" per NWS - which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of waves. So most are smaller, but many are bigger.
