one of our new favorites for cruises and travelling in general is the tylenol dissolve packs. Another thing I like to take is true lime or true lemon. I brew tea in the buffet, pour it over ice in my yeti, and add water to fill. Great iced tea all day, every day.
I am going on a trip on the Enchanted in April 2024.. I booked my excursions in November 2023... I just checked yesterday (March 2024) to see about possibly changing one of my excursions and the excursion had gone up $40 per person. I checked all of my booked excursions (4 x 2 people) and booking them now -even though we are 6 weeks away from our cruise- would have cost me an additional $190. book early!
We had a cruise where we were caught in the hallway and asked about buying the spa for the cruise. We said no. Still showed up on my card. Cruise line stated that the spa is operated by someone else. Spa stated I ordered this (did not) and that there was no refunds allowed. Once back, I contacted my credit card company. We got our money back.
Absolutely! I do know a lot of people that cruise and they don’t buy one single add-on. Nothing. All they have is their gratuities. One cruises a lot, been on over 75 cruises and has never stepped foot into a speciality dining restaurant. Thanks for watching. Appreciate the comment.
I have cruised on 6 different cruise lines and never had a bad cruise. Many times I've never booked anything beside the basic cruise. I'm preparing for a transatlantic and I've booked several specialty dinners and several cruise based excursions. Why? Because this is a longer trip and I decided to splurge. Other trips I usually study up on the port and do my own exploring or use viator making sure nothing is within 2 hours of the all aboard time. There is zero reason for not studying up on the ports or getting caught with extra bills. Complimentary dining is pretty good, the entertainment is fine, and I love winding down and not having to be constantly distracted. If you can do a specialty meal, give it a try sometime. We did Remy's on the Disney Fantasy and it was a fantastic experience with my son and daughter in law. Book far enough ahead and save some money for extras
Agree with KissesfromCanada you will love it and have a great time, and if you make a mistake or two, join the crowd, even after 30 something cruises I still make mistakes. Enjoy your cruise.
Hey Jason thank you so much for all the hard work that you do to keep us informed you had a lot of good tips I will continue watching your tips and thoughts of every cruise that you make and thank you sir for all the hard work that you do
If everyone cancels the gratuities you can be sure cruise fares will go up by more than the price of daily gratuities. I don't understand how people haven't figured out passenger fares pay for all salaries or wages of all cruiseline employees.
I know it’s refundable on Royal, Princess and Celebrity. I asked and they told me if I paid for something it would refunded to my credit card. Princess I received a full refund, and Royal was a partial refund because they couldn’t make the change, so we used it at Izumi which was cheaper and received 29 dollars back on our credit card at the end of our cruise. What cruise line wouldn’t give you a refund? I know there are certain levels of OBC and if you paid for something they give that back to you. If you received it as a gift from your TA or the cruise line it’s usually not refundable. Thanks for watching.
Great tips! I save money by skipping the drink package and bringing on my wine allowance. My friend that just got back from a Disney cruise gave this genius tip. Bring a disposable coffee cup with a lid, fill it with wine in your room and bring it to dinner. At dinner ask for an empty wine glass and fill with the wine in your cup. Viola. No corkage fee. And no walking the halls with a very spill-able glass of wine.
I would alway but water for my room and we end up not using all cause we use our water bottle we bring with us..thanks for making me really think about that..I will reroute that money at cherry on top!!!
Specialty dining is a huge ripoff best avoided. Hit specialty restaurants around home if available which are far better. We hit a spa around the home and avoid the onboard spas. Much better massages on land. Pre purchased cases of water has been reasonably priced so far for our cruises. We actually avoid cruises with pay to play gimmick activities like go-carts and roller coasters. Waste of space. We go to amusement parks for that not cruise ships.
The drink package and the spa treatment doesn’t even sound worth it to be honest. I’ve haven’t been on a cruise yet but these tips are really helpful to look out for
Personally saving money on a cruise is easy. 1, cancel Graturites full stop. 2, do not buy ships wifi 3, do not purchase anything in the onboard shops. 4, do not book any spa treatments. 5, if you really need a drinks package or specialist dining book before your cruise not on board.

FYI: If you prefer a firmer bed, they also have bedboards to put under the mattress.

Princess sales refillable water bottles but they stop you from using them at their water stations. Sad.
I really appreciate your advice.. especially, about the additional tipping and bottled water vs. free Yeti refills.💰
Don't book if you can't aford the trip.
Stop booking Specialty restaurants

Bingo is a rip off on RCL.
The problem is that they charge your credit card when booking so you can’t use your OBC which is not refundable if not used!

Or just bring your glass with wine 🍷 in it to the dining room.
I'd love to download your packing list. Can you direct me to the site? Thanks
