Hi I am at this very moment at Sarajevo. It is beautifull . It is far beyond my expectations. A city with a history a culture a cool mindset. Bosnian are so sweet and welcoming.
I had a fantastic time in Bosnia, such a special country, thanks to our exceptional tour guide Vekas from Bosnian Tours. He tailored the tour to match our preferences, and his commitment made sure we got the most out of our visit and the country, something that's not common among guides in Bosnia. We explored around 15 different locations in a short span of time. If you're thinking about your next vacation, I strongly suggest considering a trip to Bosnia.
WOW World War 1. We love Sarajevo Bosnia! Such a hard history. But the people are so amazing .We cannot wait to go back. OMG we love the food and coffee! We also did a video on the 1990s war. I like the shot at the end of the show with the hookah
We really loved Sarajevo, such an interesting city with such a devastating recent history. Again, thanks including lots of that. It's a unique place, stories on every corner. Thanks for taking us back!
Thank you - you make me want to visit even more. I was planning on going there to see about moving there, so I will in a week. You give some pretty good background on the country.
Very informative video! I will also visit Sarajevo in about 10 days and I wanted to ask if you know anything about trips from Sarajevo to Tuzla? Probably by bus? All the best!
Awesome video man, I really liked the condensed history part. Just one additional fact about Sarajevo - there was a town called Hodidjed on the hills above Sarajevo long before the Ottomans conquered the Kingdom of Bosnia, and it was unfortunately lost as a result of that conquest. But this region was inhabited by various tribes of Illyrians, Slavs and even as far as Neolithic age, where the fairly less known Butmir civilization dwelled and developed agriculture and pottery.
I’m from Sweden, where minus 35 degrees is not unusual in Winter, but we certainly don’t keep our taps running all night, and are warm and cozy all night with free central heating!
I went in 2006 & 2007 and was supposed to go this Sept but I guess that is on hold now. Archduke Ferdinand could have been assassinated anywhere, that had nothing to do with Sarajevo but the label has stuck. Bosnia is more Turkish than Turkey! We have a Cevapci restaurant in my town too. Good explanation of the history but there was a Medieval Bosnian kingdom that predates the Ottomans. They call themselves the European Jerusalem not the Olympic City but well put together video.
Thank you Departures1. I appreciate your comment. Ottomans conquered the territory of BiH where Slavic people of Christian religion lived. Before Ottomans there was no city where Sarajevo stands today, there were only small settlements. Sarajevo as a city was founded by the Ottomans and that is why I wasn't mentioning history before that. The word Sarajevo derives from Turkish noun saray, meaning "palace" or "mansion". Keep on watching and commenting, I really appreciate it.

I loved my visit to Sarajevo. You shot everything in the Muslim quarter I believe? I hoped you would also go to the old Olympic Stadium. I remember visiting the museum there, and it was such an East European experience, very basic, but the people working there makes it lovely! Sorry but Berlin had the first Electric Tram, Sarajevo came 4 years later.
Sarajevo was not founded by the Ottomans? I think it was somewhere in the twelfth or thirteenth century... the old Orthodox Church even has a manuscript which contains the codex, the Sarajevo edict, of 1307... Just the name Sarajevo is from the Ottomans.
@edenz keep pushing your fascist agenda, man. You're just asking to get more kids killed, waste more money on weapons, and become an even bigger pariah in the world. Bravo smarty pants
@@edenzelozanimiv3496 Sve bi to stojalo da ne odes na google, upises govor Alija Izetbegovic i izbaci ti sve sto je rekao, a ne ono sto ti lazes i sto godinama pricate. It has really really great people and it is very special and oriental city, considering it is in south eastern Europe.

I love this city! I’ve never been, but it looks beautiful! I love how rich in history it is.
It is beautiful, and people are amazing and it is also very oriental like, especially for Europe.
We really loved Sarajevo, such an interesting city with such a devastating recent history. Again, thanks including lots of that. It's a unique place, stories on every corner. Thanks for taking us back!

Very informative video! I will also visit Sarajevo in about 10 days and I wanted to ask if you know anything about trips from Sarajevo to Tuzla? Probably by bus? All the best!
Thanks. Yes you are right, buses are the best and many times the only option. I wish you a great experience in beautiful Sarajevo.

Thanks for adding more historical background. Appreciated 🤗
before Ottomans, there was civil war between native people of the area. So Ottomans brought peace by conquering the region.
Mashallah Sarajevo ❤️
Beautiful diverse and open hearted Sarajevo. Love the equally beautiful people ❤
Hey great work, love this
Thank you! Cheers!
May I know the best time to visit Bosnia, Croatia & Balkans?
It would be great if they could restore the train service from Zagreb. Getting to Sarajevo is a real problem right now.
💚💚
I am Indonesian moslem. Sarajevo is Jerusalem of Europe. Great information bro, thank you.
Hello from Jerusalem, I'm Jewish Israeli, Sarajevo gives me hope that peace can be achieved here too, and we can all get along. Shalom.
Oow dang it, was planning on visiting it on december, how cold will it be if you guys guess?
Most likely you can expect snow.
When I lived in Sarajevo, I was advised to keep the tap running all night to prevent it from freezing solid.
I’m from Sweden, where minus 35 degrees is not unusual in Winter, but we certainly don’t keep our taps running all night, and are warm and cozy all night with free central heating!
5:36 Sounds like the anthem of Poland
I believe most Slavic nations had simmilar anthem.
Ovaj video je mogao da napravi samoonaj ko je živio u Sarajevu i voli Sarajevo svim srcem. Ovo je prvi video koji iskreno govori o Sarajevu.
Thanks 🤗
que ciudad tan bella
Good
Thanks
I love čevapčiči :)
Also my favourite. 😁

Just the name Sarajevo is from the Ottomans.
I believe there was a bunch of villages and after Ottoman arrival they were organised into a city of Sarajevo.
