      yea I gave up misting after a while. so it helps if its in a tiny tub. it holds water better

      You can absolutely rewet it though! it doesnt work the same as it would straight out the tube. This wont work with acryla gouache though

    Hello Haze. In the description link, the gouache paints link took me to Amazon that had Pebeo paints but it looked like you were using Chinese paints in jars during the video. Are the Chinese paints cheaper or better than the Pebeo or are they harder to purchase than the Pebeo? I would like to create the exact same palette that you have in the video. I love the colors and creaminess of the paints that you have in the video. Thanks

    • @HazeLong
      @HazeLong  4 роки тому +1

      They should be the same consistency. I bought from china cuz it’s easier to ship back to me in my region. If u want the exact same one you can search for wencui gouache.

    • @dominicw4723
      @dominicw4723 3 роки тому

      I dunno the quality of wencui or wintree gouache, but looking around I only saw it on 3rd party sits like alibaba or aliexpress for a couple dollars but I didn't really look into it. I DID see a smaller 100ml version on amazon under postercolors but the price looked almost too expensive. The brand makes me think it's a student grade paint because of the prices outside amazon and because the brand also offers jelly cups which tend to be student grade.
      Tl;dr I think you're better off buying HimiMiya brand gouache. They should still be comparable. I would suggest just moving the open cups into a palette and leave the rest unopened (or maybe just move the extra cups into a seperate pallete in case you want to experiment).

  • @jilliancrawford7577

    Would the red scale maybe work for subsurface scattering or should that be its own super intense and deep transparent red-orange? I know subsurface scattering is more complex than just adding some kind of red-orange, but I feel like it can make or break the illusion of skin to make a subject look real or like some kind of plastic mannequin, but that's just me.

    • @HazeLong
      @HazeLong  3 роки тому

      I think is easier to get the sss if the other colors are muted significantly or in a complementary color compared to the sss red

    I wonder if anyone uses the regular tube gouache from Arteza? I just mixed these colors and they look great, but how would I mix them to keep them?

    • @HazeLong
      @HazeLong  3 роки тому +2

      You need to keep them in a sealed container. They would dry up otherwise and some brands of gouache is notoriously difficult to rewet.

    • @modishmade

      @@HazeLong thanks! I was pleasantly surprised as how quickly I got the right color pallet. I’ll have to invest in a container with your affiliate link

    What is wrong with dry gouache? It's watercolor paint
    Or is it due to the very low quality gouache being used? I see in video she mentioned they would crack, that's a problem with cheaper paints if I remember correctly

    Can I store my oil paints in the airtight palette?

    • @HazeLong
      @HazeLong  4 роки тому +1

      Oo I’ve never tried that. I m not sure how the plastic will react to the oil. My palette melted before. But usually I just put my entire oil palette in a cardboard box n keep it in the freezer until I need to use it again.

    Hi there maam im curious to know if you went to art school or academy. Or you're only self taught?

    • @HazeLong
      @HazeLong  3 роки тому +5

      I had talent since young. But I never develop it. I studied film n animation in Uni. There was an art foundation course. That’s it. I have reading bouts where I sign up for kindle unlimited n read every book that is available on art. I do this periodically.
      The rest I learned on the job. If you are interested enough, you will be able to find a way to improve at all stages.
