- Keith Olbermann has been saying crazy things for years, but recently, he went too far. Olbermann tweeted out multiple things regarding Donald Trump's assassination attempt, including calling him a Nazi and calling to "implode" the Cardinals' stadium after some players displayed signs of solidarity with the former President.

1. The Cardinals (allegedly) weren’t even doing a trump celebration. Alec Burleson has some sort of DJ alter ego called “DJ Biscuit” and they were (allegedly) doing a DJ celebration for his HR. (I say allegedly because I’m still holding out hope it’s a Trump celebration just because the DJ thing is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard)
2. Why are people still giving Keith Olbermann air time or space in their heads?

I understand and appreciate the distaste for Olbermann; he's not everyone's cup of tea. But baseball players shouldn't be emulating an insurrectionist who: waited 187 minutes to respond to an attack on the capitol; mishandled covid-19 so badly that 1.2 million Americans dies on U.S. soil, plays footsies with dictators and despots and desires to be one, refused to turn over top secret documents when asked to return them, took away the rights of women (do any of you guys want the government telling you what you can and can't do in your garage?), lied to Americans thousands 30,573 times while in office, spent more than 20 percent of his first administration on the golf course, and created a divide in America among Red and Blue teams that will probably not be resolved in the 10-20 years I have left in my life. The assassination attempt was a tragedy, but it makes Trump no more qualified than he previously was to lead this nation.
The actions of the players were likely naivete and ignorance-based; young guys who respond to the moment rather than the bigger picture. I get it -- it's a moment of triumph over evil. It was an iconic image. But their actions imply support for a man who doesn't deserve to die, but should not be deified (and to be fair, he's the only one who has indicated he was actually struck by a bullet which, if false, is utterly disgusting). Olbermann's comments were crazy talk and filled with hyperbole, but there are some of us who are running out of time and take seriously the world that's going to be left behind us. You guys, and your kids, deserve better than what Trump is going to leave for you. Some of us just say it in different ways.
I'm voting for Kamala Harris but I agree with every bit of this video. Well said and bravo. The baseball players should be allowed to celebrate however they want and Oberman does not speak for any of us on the left. He's insane. We do not claim him.
