This shows that if you are wealthy, your life is more important. Do you know how many common people die from drug addiction? Who’s going after their drug dealer? No one.

It’s a backwards system but it’s the only system they want to entertain. Prohibition is never the answer. Look at when we tried to ban alcohol. Alcohol became way more dangerous due to uncontrolled distilling, similar to the fentanyl overdose crisis happening now. We also gave control of the industry over to criminals and the families and friends of those original criminals are still in power to this day. It sucks.

This is BS. Matthew made his choices as I do, and I’m a recovering opiate addict (10 years). Now if the guy sold him some poison and lied to him, then I can understand, but if it was what he intended to be and took too much on top of all the other things he was on, then I don’t know how you can hold them responsible for someone else’s choice. I just don’t think it’s right to blame someone else for this. I wouldn’t blame anyone else if I relapsed and died because of it. Edit: I read a comment saying that Matthew would never want anyone to be held responsible for his death if he overdosed and I just wanted to mention that because I think it shows the great character he possessed despite his monumental struggles. I wish he was still here with us and I hope he is at peace 🕊️ 😔🙏

However, he almost certainly obtained the large quantity of drug illegally. Selling anything illegally is, in and of itself, a crime. Hence, why they are getting arrested; they got caught selling black market goods. Hope that makes sense.

Bottom line: He was an addict who was prescribed a highly addictive drug which triggered another active addiction leading to his death. Doctors have certain standards of care they must follow. Medical malpractice claims and/ or criminal charges have occurred because of outcomes like this one.
