SMU fans, State College will be a little colder than DFW this time of year. Snowmobile suits, insulated footwear and gloves, seat cushion, blanket, and hot beverages will have some positive affect when sitting on those aluminum bleachers inside an open steel stadium. Glad to be of help.
Our potential opponents are certainly beatable. So if we play hard and well, we could go deep into the playoffs. Like Justin says, anything can happen.
I wouldn’t look past us! Look forward to seeing the Mustangs play up north. I’m sure we’ll practice outside with the loudspeakers on and when we get there… a little Vaseline and some heat warmers and we’ll be good! If we play a solid game, we have a good chance, Clemson didn’t even get our best punch! Pony Up!
@ Penn State is a solid team and I expect Penn State to gain more than 64yds of rushing. I would just take heed to not look past SMU. Cold and sad at home won’t be fun 😉
I’ll admit, I knew a loss wouldn’t remove us from the CFP, but I still want them to go out and do well. Even though it was a loss, I must also admit that to end up with a shootout with the #1 team in the country and lose by only 8 points isn’t as bad as people say. Sometimes fans forget these are students and not NFL players yet. Given this situation, I welcome a home game against SMU and it should bring a lot of revenue and attention to State College. The playoffs won’t be easy, but the best games are fought in the trenches. Win or lose, WE ARE!! PENN STATE!! 🦁🏈👍🏻🤙🏽👊🏿
Scoring 37 against the ducks was a best case, two turnovers and 10 starting points was a best case against Ohio state. Best cases mean little for PSU, they find a way to lose, wake me up when they actually win these.
If there is a run threat and they are throwing tons of screens and have the speed to beat you deep, no. That draws the linebackers up, corners out, and safeties deep. You have to take away the run, the screens, or risk getting beat deep so you can afford to drop someone into the middle. It's not so easy. Diaz would've risked the deep shots which could've been more common if they had his tendencies.
@thomasorzack5795 I know. I'm just bummed. I was looking forward to winter tailgating before the game and the energy of the night game whiteout. It just can't be beat.
Exactly!! This is an intriguing matchup though because neither SMU or Penn State has defeated someone really good since the 1980s! It's a really cool way to make one of these teams win a big game post Ronald Reagan era! I think this is fantastic! My money is on SMU though.
@arcticfox6808 You said we haven't won a big game since the 80's, I brought up beating number 2 OSU in 16 and a big10 ship win and you think losing a bowl game disproves that? I didn't say we were the best game in the country we won a big game. That's a fact. Is the only big game a national championship? What are we talking about?

PSU got easier path by losing than OR did by winning-UNREAL-SMU-Boise State-GA minus QB trip to finals
I think the committee gave Penn State kudos for their performance last night even though they lost.
Penn State has a great path top the Final 4. I want a rematch with Oregon.
O gee, so they can get dusted again😂
OR may not get there with the way there D played
No you dont... Their defense was the worst they played all year. You want a rematch with a team whose defense will be better next time you play them?
@davehanson455 Bro we did not get dusted. We would not have put up 37 points and there were multiple missed penalties. SMFH!
@@drewgalli8193Yea the refs were in it for OR
No discussion of runway length?

Can PSU defend the middle of the field? Where's Manny.
Yes, the can defend it. Oh, Manny left last year to coach Duke. The DC is Tom Allen. He’s been doing a great job all season.
against the ducks no

Secondary is poor at best...
Looks like Penn state gotta hold there horses lol joke good luck I always respected psu
Well played
Noon? Wtf?
Not surprising. If they put in Alabama it would've been a night game

PSU needs to find a defense first!!!!!
Too bad SMU isnt a top 10 team...easy SMU win...as soon as PSU plays someone really good..easy loss.

✔️1994 #2 PSU 12-0 undefeated Rose Bowl champs beat Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon.
✔️2005 PSU finished #3 @ 11-1 and beat Florida State in the Orange Bowl
Is it a big game? If the answer is yes, Big Game James loses. I don’t care who the opponent is.
If they win, you're just going to say it wasn't a big game.
It's SMU.
