I really like Justin's perspective on the game. It's hard for much of the fan base to appreciate a team's performance outside of the score and the big plays (I'm about to go on a tangent, so be forewarned). I decided to watch the IU-Maryland game the other day to get a good look at IU's offense since there was a lot of hype around it. What stood out most to me was not IU's offensive performance, but how slow and non-aggressive Maryland's defense looked. Compare that to Penn State (especially in the 2nd half) and it looked like they were playing different sports. Anyone who has played football (regardless of the level) can appreciate, the speed, aggression, pursuit, and ability to swarm this defense has. We've all had that game where we thought, 'damn, that other team is big, fast, and can hit.' That's probably what other teams are feeling after they play Penn State. Anyway, WE ARE!

There some PSU football 'fans' who have been angry since JoePa, and they will not be happy. Ever. Nick Saban could come out of retirement to coach at PSU, and they'd complain that they have to get used to a new coach. Some of these people are just doomers. Here's what those types don't get: anything we get used to, other teams can scheme to defeat. I think CJF is one of the best head gamers in the business, to a fault sometimes. Keeping your opponent on their heels is the name of the game, and CJF plays it better than most.

Abdul, as a pure DE, has been disappointing. When he is allowed to roam around and play freely, he is a different animal. That game changed when we took his hand out of the dirt. Zane Durant has been the biggest suprise for me. He has been absolutely dominant.

Game should have been out of reach if we made those FG’s. Find a new kicker pleez!

They have to get better at putting the nail in the coffin. They are not going to be able to rely on the defense holding USC and OSU scoreless in the second half. Could it happen? sure, but not very likely. When we have the ability to put a game out of reach and take their heart we have to do it.

So the Phoenix Coyotes have the trade mark for White Out that’s why we can’t use it all the time. There is an effort to have the trademark phased out. We can dub it a “Penn State White Out” to avoid such trademark infringement but if the trademark does get cancelled we should be all over purchasing that trademark

I was at the game. The defense was amazing only allowing 67 yards. All aspects of the offense just clicked. The only poor decision was Prabula’s interception. Otherwise both he and Drew were excellent.

We will be fine. We play slow man ball. Wear teams down in the first quarter and by they fourth they are tired.

Peterson on FoxCFB was pushing Oregon last night as a Big10 power despite its Idaho debacle. He had a wait and see attitude about PSU. Bottom Line: It is about the eyeball test with the media and committees. Wins must be decisive, or PSU is not play-off bound.

Can we lay to rest the "Penn State has an easy/manageable schedule" narrative, therefore they are a favorite to make the playoffs? Five or six of these BIG teams could be ranked when they meet. Penn State will have earned their place if they somehow make it through this gauntlet. I'd rather play Michigan this year than USC.

You guys very much under estimate Bowling Green they where expected to win the MAC Rated above NIU which beat #5 ND so never underestimate the MAC and ND could not over come a MAC team

Bowling Green could beat half the teams in either the B1G or the SEC.

11:50 Drew Allar is definitely a leader. I don’t know what was said at HT, but he came back more determined than ever it seemed and he definitely led us to victory over BGSU on Saturday. Hopefully he will keep that confidence going into B1G Ten football play later this season because it was a cool thing to see in person.

7:07 Tom I agree with you 100% because if we can’t figure out what went wrong in this game (I went to this by the way and it was ugly to watch), then teams like UCLA, Wisconsin, Ohio State etc will exploit those flaws and make our playoff hopes, even with the expanded 12 teams, even worse.

I don’t take a lot of comfort in the “Bowling Green is really good” excuse. Thinking we have another 2-3 loss season coming up and will once again be on the outside looking in come playoff time.

Everyone take a deep breath... It's going to be OK. BG came out with their 15 returning starters and 45 returning letter winners (check out their website) and immediately started swinging against an opponent who was sleep-walking through the first half. Bazelak is a 5th year QB who started at Mizzou and then Indiana (the same time Tom Allen was the HC). They came out with something to prove and punched PSU in the mouth. Then PSU came to, readjusted and got the W. It wasn't pretty, but it still counts. There's enough knowledge, skill, experience, and talent in our locker room to have an incredible season. Keep the faith. WE ARE!!!
