Thank you for this posting! I am in the "process" of making cut out pole swags for my living room (which has 3 mullioned windows and 2 other windows). This has been the most challenging window treatment I've ever made...by far! The width of my jabots now measure the end of the swag they will overlap and that is a BEAUTIFUL thing!
Also Scott, could a panel of contrasting fabric be sewn along the diagonal edge of the lining (in place of the lining there) so that the cont. fabric shows when the jabot is folded instead of lining showing?
Thanks so much Scott! What material are u using? Do you have and suggestions for the type of fabric to use . I used a light fabric and the pleats opened up!
Hi Scott, I love your videos! What formula do you use for the finished width of your jabots? Why 10"? Are there standard widths? Also, when will we see drapery videos!?
Hi Julie! Up to 12" wide is pretty much standard widths. The formula is 3 times the width of the jabot+return+sewing allowance. 10" wide jabot = 10" X 3 = 30" + 4" return + 1" sewing = 35" wide. The 30" is what you want to make the pleats with and you divide this by 4 (for for pleat folds) 7-1/2". I do have a video explaining how to make and pleat on my channel if interested. Thanks, Scott
high scott I have been cutting swags for a large company for 30 years in England we call those tails jabots are small double like tails that go in between swags for a bay window

You can do this but it may be easier to just contrast lined the entire back side of the jabots. Thank you for your comment.
