Your ball joint separator will work if you use the other hole in the middle to enlarge it. I thought the same thing when I first tried mine but realized you can enlarge it by taking out the middle bolt and inserting it into the other hole.
You should always replace the nuts, as they're self-retaining nuts which work by being slightly oval. By unscrewing and screwing them back on again you slightly change the ovality which reduces its self-retention abilities.
@@Fwerks.1592 you have any future performance plans for this car ? I have my e39 and I’ve loved every second of driving it except for the minor issues it gets time to time but never anything serious I’m at 196k miles
@@lilsalad1546 as far as performance ehhh I kinda enjoy it stock for the time being. Maybe a tuner Motorsport flash from ecs tuning. Unfortunately this bad boy has been a headache as it’s broken again. Debating if I should do a video lol. Don’t get me wrong I love this E39 and the plan is to put half a million miles on it.
It all depends on the quality of parts. The cheap set for the front and back can run you anywhere from $300-$450. I would not recommend this set just because you will be replacing it again in 6 months. A good decent set of control arms can set you back $1250-$1450. for the front and back.
0:20 That's the spirit ! It's all about what the passengers think of your car - never mind safety 😏
Great video thanks for recording it. Good job
Thanks!!

Good morning, Yes, the new arms came with new self-locking nuts. I did use the new hardware.
Thanks for the video! Getting ready to tackle it myself and watching how you did it really helped.
Thank you brother! I appreciate you!
Where’d did you get the grills I’ve ordered 4 different ones and none of the four are glossy
I actually got them from eBay. I made sure the description read “Glossy black”
