This is how every tutorial video should be. There's not 15 minutes of someone with a crappy camera trying to get good angles, talking about random stuff, giving advice, etc. Hahaha! This is PERFECT
FYI, for the non-performance pack GT’s (4 piston caliper) the low-pad warning indicator is on the inbound pad, bottom, not the outbound pad, top, as is shown here with the Brembo calipers. Won’t fit the wrong way in though *tried :)*
Extra brake dust due to the slots & semi drilled rotors shaving more mat'l off of the pad, wearing them down ALOT quicker & be prepared for ALOT more noise as well. They look great though 😊
@@Rob-pl4wlhe’s right. Drilled rotors form stress cracks on the edges of the holes if they aren’t high quality rotors and they see heavy braking like on a track. Slotted rotors perform just as good with less issues and you have more material for pad to bite
I was stuck on the rear piston, the boot kept twisting and the tool would be stuck. Took a lot of elbow grease and wd40 for the boot to finally shift and move with the piston. The rest was fairly straightforward but still took a full day for me! Also once done, when I brake very aggressively, I get rough judders, dont know if i messed up something or thats because of the drilled rotors.
A couple differences - see the warning indicator comment above, also doesn’t have the 13mm pin on back side of pads/rotor- instead has a flimsy wire that hooks through the ends of the slim retaining pins.
So, my retaining pins have a wire spring holding them in place on the back side. I did not see you take them off or put them back on. My passenger side broke. Stupid question... can I drive my car to get to the dealership or are the pins going to rattle out?
I noticed at my s550 that the brake disc itself isn’t bolted to anything - so it’s flopping around when the wheel is off - it’s just held by the wheel when it’s on. Is that normal on a s550?
Hey Martin, this process does also apply to the stock 4 piston calipers, however, we did perform this video on a Brembo set up. So there will be some differences with the caliper when working on your Mustang.
Hey there, That is a very high price. Most brake changes should be much less when replacing the rotors, pads, and labor cost. We recommend speaking to them about the cost and seeing if that is correct. Or take your vehicle to another trusted shop.
When I click on the rotors link you provide In the description, I match the rotors on this video and it says they are 14”. I thought for this 6 piston brembos, they required a 15” rotor. Maybe I am mistaken?
Dang I know its too late and sorry no one else responded but thats just a tab that will contact the rotor to let you know when the pads are getting low
Depending on what model or package you have and brand of pads that you want, it can run you from $64.99 up to $180. Here's a link to our site for more: lmr.com/products/2015-2016-mustang-brake-pads
You will need to go with a Ecoboost brake set up if you're looking to upgrade. You will also need to make sure they are the right size for caliper clearance. Check out the link below for more: lmr.com/products/2015-Mustang-Brake-Rotors
Just push them back with a screwdriver wrapped in a cloth , carefully . Some people use padded vice grips , or you can buy a brake spreader like shown in the video . It helps to take off the cap on the mater cylinder as well before you compress the pistons.
Jesus - Ford puts it on there from the factory so you can reapply some if you'd like. I've never had an issue with caliper bolts backing out without thread locking compound. -Landan
Ford tech manual states those 2 bolts/caliper are one-use; Probably due to the heat they see. The new ones come with thread lock applied from the factory.
Our 2015 was a Performance Package/50th Anniversary. So it came factory with Brembo brakes. However, not every model will come with Brembos. - Jude H. - Social Media/Events Coordinator

Brad Howard any good way to remove the pad pin? I tried pin punch, didn’t work well.
*pins. Also mine is non PP. can’t find any good video on non PP brake pad change tutorial.
@@gggg-hw5eb Hey did you ever manage to find a video?
I can't find one video on 4 piston brake and rotor installation . All are Brembo video installations.
It’s the same process basically.

They also crack a lot easier :/

Any difference when doing the 4 piston fronts compared to the Brembo's?

Are the rear slide pin 14mm bolts one time use only or is it just the 18mm main caliper bolts that are one time use?
The rear slide pin bolts can be reused. -Landan
Someone answer me this question.. would It be better to perform this service on a inclined driveway or a flat surface.?
We highly recommend that you work on the car on a flat surface, not on a inclined driveway
Lol wtf

The two 14mm bolts holding the caliper to the slide pins are stuck on my '17 Performance Pack. Guess I'm getting a shop to do it...
