I got a 3.0t like 4 months ago and it’s the best the car makes me so happy
You should mention the sport and red sport comes with the big brake akebano brakes. One big reason I got my 2018 Q50s with performance package.
Same with the hybrid.
Pratiti como yagba olap bulbul Q50S 400 hp?
@@bougartschnizer2166 huh?
@@bougartschnizer2166 redspot has 400 horsepower stock
3.7 as a daily is on point not the fastest but still reliable and enough power to enjoy.
Jamal G I love my 2013 G VQ 3.7 not fast but fast enough to have fun and definitely amazing sound
@@AQCE245 That's what started me getting a Infiniti. There was a G37 on the lot. Wasn't even on my radar but test drove one and was hooked. My last car got totaled so the Q50 was on the radar at that point. Have had it for 10 months now and love it.
I recently purchased the 2020 3.0T Luxe and love it
I own an 2014 S Hybrid (Canadian)version...so far no issues with batteries..only 2 sensors went down (expensive to fix though)..it was an demo version fully loaded....7,1 l/100km now..in a winter around 8l/100km.. sports shifter works amazing;;BTW...if a part of an batteries for the hybrid dies...you not need to replace the whole thing...just the dead part !!!
I got a 2015 base model q50 3.7 with sun roofs . It’s very reliable. Got it 23k$$ for 25 k miles . It was a steal. I’ve drove bout 10k miles and no problems yet. I’ve only changed the tires and do a oil change every 3500k miles
Where did you find it ?
At an Infiniti dealer or what?
@@TheUncleSpiderX Carmax I just sold it for a 2018 Mercedes Benz c300
@@guillermohernandez96 Jesus Christ I’m surprised Carmax sold it that cheap
I use to work for both Carmax and Infinti, now I’m at Honda but damn how come you sold the Q50?
@@TheUncleSpiderX yeah it was a great deal. I just got a Benz 2018 premium package for 27000k of payment with 19450 miles . Another great deal
@@guillermohernandez96 do you think a 2015 3.7 sport with low KM is still worth getting in 2021 ? i wanted a 3.0 turbo but worried about turbos. ( should i just get the 3.0 turbo and just get extended warrenty)
In 2018, the red sport had better oil and transmission cooling, different trans and engine tune, turbo speed sensors, extra water pump for faster cooling, BBK, adjustable suspension and shorter rear end. Lol, I’m a red sport owner. But ya, engine mechanics are the same as standard 3.0
Any minor changes in the 2019? Rs, I doubt it but just curious
The differential is different in base and in the sport it is 2.94 AXLE RATIO and in the red sport 400 it is 3.13 AXLE RATIO, the second water pump is since they released the red sport on the market
Hey I just purchased a 2014 q50s with only 44,000 miles. Man this car is a blast. Who ever had in installed a stillen exhaust, with brembo breaks all around.
Red sport gets Ambient lighting for interior, black headliner, sport plus mode to drive, red sport rims, red brake calipers, res sport wheel, red diamond stitch semi analine leather seating and steering wheel vs perforated leather with white stitching, usually also comes with Advanced climate control and plasmacluster purifier.
Aren’t the turbos bigger in the red sport as well?
@@inuaramos1450 not bigger but have optical speed sensors to avoid over boasting & damaging hue turbo itself.
Always gotta hit that like button when you get some quality information.
I was shopping for a Redsport initially when I got my Q50, but when I researched it and realized what extra I got for almost $10-15k more, it just made no sense. So I got a premium 3.0t, and the car is so much fun. My channel will have more vids soon of its progress.
Congrats
What year is yours, if you don't mind me asking? I'm in the market at the worst time possible and the Q50 has really caught my eye.
@@vey8826 mine is a 2016.
@@vey8826 fax I’m going today and just wanna remember the difference between the too
Nothing beats that 3.7 legendary sound.love the sound of mine
I got the Q60 Red Sport. I added Infiniti sports exhaust and heat exchanger. Its my daily driver and probably will not tune until the warranty expires. Great everyday luxury sports car for a guy who wears slacks to work.
I am in the same boat. I own a RS400 and have 18k miles left on my warranty. I ain't trying to go crazy yet. After warranty is done I wouldn't mind having a 500hp daily that looks great and never needs excess repairs. I like having a car that makes my commute fun as hell, looks badass but won't leave me stranded. Now after the Q50 is paid off and the next Z's start coming off their leases... That is a different story.
Any experience on the belt coming off?
@@TheZane03 I have not had any belt issues.
@@TheZane03 I have not yet, but I do hear the squel. I will change it myself, using Boost in Motion's guide. it's looks really easy.
Layze Lyfe my G37 is my daily I’m going to wait until the Q60 red sport drop in value in the Used market. I’m in no rush i know I could pick one up for half the MSRP as new.
the engine that's in the 2.0t is used in so many mercedes products and has proven to be quite reliable
they may need timing chains when they're super high mileage and been neglected (oil change wise) but that's the only issue i've seen
Thanks for the video! Like before watching!
The slowest Q50 in general is 2.2 diesel
I’ve always kinda been against the 3.0t, nothing could beat the sound of a 3.7 with a nice exhaust
So true I have a 2015 q50 with modified exhaust and it’s sounds like a v8
The sound may be nice on the 3.7 but for those who want a little more power wise the 3.7 just doesn't cut it. Just plain facts, bolt ons will only take you so far with tune which is why a lot of people are turning to forced induction. Still beautiful cars no matter which motor you go with 👌
Jay Tee facts, ur not wrong I got a 3.7 and I’ve been thinking about a 3.0 myself, but I don’t think I’m ready to let go of this 3.7 beast
Daniel K ay das pretty cool, I got a 2015 premium, been lookin around for some nice exhausts
@@Git_Dat_Motivation 3.7 is awesome platform man as long as you enjoy it that's all that matters. And they sound beast 👌
The hybrid makes more power than the 3.7
3.7 you have to look out for the galley gasket issue
The redsport has a better final drive which does make a big difference, turbo optical sensors, bbk, oil cooler, two water pumps, and tuned with higher psi
Late reply but the galley gasket issue was fixed in 2012+ models of the G37 so the Q50 wouldn't have that problem at all.
So is there anything stopping you from buying the 3.0t but then just getting it tuned to 400?
Boost right now my my motor is sitting at 94k on my 2016 3.0T no mods only muffler delete right now...never had any belt changes and the maintenance has been kept regular. To me they are super reliable.
Get a jb4 bro, you'll have so much fun.
Jay Tee i’ve been thinking about it, gonna watch his videos on it and do a little research.
@@____aris most definitely. All I did was add jb4 with exhaust to wake the car up a little bit and it made a nice difference. Of course you can always do a real ecutek tune but for plug and play you get great results with just jb4
Jay Tee i was going to wait until my warranty was fully up (this November) before i took my car in for a proper tune. Already has the BMS heat exchanger on order. Not touching the intakes as Infiniti still have to best numbers on a true cold air as opposed to the other brands...just got HKS filters and silicon inlets for the turbos. Car sounds completely different and way more aggressive now.
Jay Tee how much increase in hp?
My friend has the c class mercedes that shares that motor and it burst into flames last week. Id definitely avoid it
Bought a 2014 3.7 sport this week.
How much and how many miles ?? I got a 2015 q50s for 23 but high mileage 🫤
Like 58k miles ran me 23 and a half
@@lj2official882 hell yeah bro enjoy 🤙🏽
Do you know the hybrid is 360HP, 400 peak torque or 472 combined torque (The torque graphs of the 2 motors do not overlap perfectly). People have been consistently timing 4.7 second 0-60s, it is WAY faster than the 3.0T and the 3.7.
Yes thats pretty sick that the hybrid is faster haha
Love brother! Thanks for the content. I’ve been searching for a 2015 Q50 3.7 recently. You’ve been extremely helpful/informative! You def deserve/earned my subscription, God bless.
Just save ur money and get a G37 it’s the same thing half the price
shin boland Nah I’m good lol. I just want a car that’s more up to date, (stylish), reliable, n fun. Considering I live in New York, I need the car to be snow friendly as well. Of course I could always go with a Lexus IS, Subaru WRX, etc... But right now I’m debating the Q50 and the Lexus IS (300,350, F) I want at least 2015 models and up.
David Pearson my g37 looks better than a lot of the newer Q50s and for half the price u get the same car basically
shin boland Well that’s a matter of opinion haha. Personally I like the Q50 sport look.
@@shinboland3458 Sorry bro the G37 front end is horrendous
I’m sorry nothing will match the reliability of the VQ platform ,yes obviously the 3.0t are faster but something about that VQg37 it may not be fast but it’s hella fun to drive I love my G37 I’m going to drive it until the engine blows up.i can’t get the same feel in the new Q50 that I get in my G yes I Drove the new 3.0T not the red sport.
3.0t is the best option for speed and price
3.7 is the best for price speed and reliability
AHHHHH The hate for the Red Sport! LOL!
James Williams lol 😂
Everyone hates on the redsport lol
I've been looking at one of these but what do you know about the belt issues with the 3.0? New subscriber
It’s a common issue for 16-17 year models & some newer years as well. Just replace it every 20-25k as preventative maintenance, it’s inexpensive & offers piece of mind.
Hybrid Q50 has more power than the 3.7 and is quicker, the 2.0t is the same motor as the Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 I know a chick with a heavily modified one too. On a different subject I don't know why Nissan hasn't dumped Renault and partnered up with Mercedes-Benz/ Daimler as the 2.0t Q50 wasn't their only collaboration product.
The 2.0 is a good motor
Yessir thinking about a Q50 for a daily. Is the Red sport worth it ?
Great vid Boost! I’m actually in the market for a Q50. I’m letting go of my G35 and I think the Q50 Hybrid is what I’m going with!
I am doing exactly the same now!! 🤣 selling g35 for hybrid q50
Was at an infiniti dealership a week ago looking for a car all they had were 17's q50 and q60 awd for over 30k entire lot was full of them
Us or canada ?
the 2.0tvis a Nissan motor that is built for Merc
Your absolutely right i was going to comment the same thing.
The CLA 45 AMG has the same motor but horsepower is 355 hp/332 to so why didn't Nissan do the same for the cheaper Q50?? 🤔
Ohh I know because those are close to the same numbers the V6 twin turbo Silver Sport Q50/Q60 makes.
People comment "oh hate for the red sport blah blah etc.... Red sport includes this and that blah blah etc..." - ok ill sum it up for ALL of us... NOT 1 THING OR EVERYTHING THAT COMES ON A RED SPORT VS A PURE OR LUXE JUSTIFIES A 16 TO 18K PRICE DIFFERENCE. there ya go. Enjoy your red sports. I'll enjoy my $16k and my luxe.
I am a minor modder, was not looking for a red sport but I saw one at an incredible deal with very very low mileage. If I can get the Red Sport at the same price as a Q50 sport with less mileage what would you get the 2016 red sport or 2018 Sport?
Is it easy to swap a Q50 into 6-speed manual transmission? What gearboxes fit and what parts must be replaced?
Also boost the 3.0t luxe doesn’t come with the sports brakes
Good luck finding places to properly service the Hybrid - even infiniti dealers having mechanics trained on the hybrids (since they've discontinued it) are far and few between, at least from some reading I've done. It's actually not a very good reccomendation for that reason alone, especially for the average driver that just wants a nice car to drive and isn't mechanically inclined
The hybrid is service like all the other Q50.
@@bonusshaker9260 you are sadly out if the loop because I can assure you it is not.
Wow great video! I just purchased 2015 q50 3.7. Deluxe + Tec package limited awd. As per your video this one has a good motor? And after 2015 not to well in the 3.7? Thanks

What about the brake calipers? Are red sport calipers and rotors bigger?
I just bought a 2019 q50 3.0t luxe
And how you feel about that purchase , I’m looking to buy the same model.
PYH Frith worth it my man. It’s fast and such a beautiful looking car
I do want a 3.0t

What’s the difference between 3.0t premium and 3.0ts
Haven’t finished the video yet
Great video!!! In the market right now for a Q50 but the turbos keep me up at night. 3.7 it is
I'm looking to get a 2015 Q50, how is this infotainment on them are they really that laggy? How many miles do you think is too much for a used VQ?
What’s the best year of q50 to get and something good as a daily but that can add a bit of performance to and what’s better awd or rwd
Do all 2018 q50 trims have navigation
3.0t is da same for q60 right
good content Boost
You forgot one more thing you get with the red sport : clout.
i wanted to get 3.0t sport but they are so hard to find all i see is 3.0t luxe so i might get that is luxe slower then the sport ? and if so by how much
What year has the better turbos
the 7 speed is not a slushbox. drive some other non dual clutch transmissions and youll understand.
Hybrid is faster and better performing after the red sport.
Battery is replaceable and has the same tech as the 2018 top sports.
@@genkideguire how much does battery replacement cost for q50 hybrid system?
@@Ecuador006 don't need one yet. But 2.5k approx? If your dealer doesn't try to rip you off.
So is the 2.0t even any good?? I think I can only afford that a 2018 Infiniti Q50 2.0t LUXE
My q50 3.0 2018 engine went out with only 25k miles there known for that sadly. Engine, turbos, and gallery are known keep that in mind repair are costly. Unfortunately I don’t have warranty my loss. But I want another 😔
Oh man, that’s sucks to hear. I’ve had 2 VR30 engines & no issues what so ever besides regular maintenance & staying on top of any underlying issue.
I want a 3.0t but I have heard they have issues with the serpentine belt and that worries me
It’s not really an issue w/ preventative maintenance. Just get it replaced every 25k miles & you are golden. I’ve had 2 VR30 engines & no issues tbh.

Just went back and fourth with someone about infiniti reliability! I had to hold back from laughing in his face cause he was throuly convinced Infiniti isnt realible. The VQ35 and 37 is damn near bulletproof unless like boost said you neglect something. Award winning engines! I own a 08 infiniti M45 sport and my VK45DE is flawless at 110,000 miles!
