I have a 3.0t. With a tune this thing can get over 450 HP which is nice, but the 3.7 sounds much nicer and is thought to be more reliable. A 3.7 with a motordyne sounds heavenly to me. The only thing is I'm fairly sure the 3.7 is harder on gas and it's already a straight burner with my 3.0t.
With my 3.7 6speed (G37) new I had 20mpg. After full bolt on I got 17mpg no matter how I drove... I didn't really buy a luxury sport car for fuel economy so it never really bothered me. Best I get with my VR30 is 21mpg.
What do you think of the a cat delete or an HFC? If you do recommend an HFC which brand? I have a 2012 G37xS coupe (Canadian Version / KMH) with a UpRev Osiris Tune, CAI and Invidia Cat Back. The car has front and rear LSD's. I love my car. Mfg date code is August 2011 and I purchased her in July 2012.
Test pipes/cat delete will allow for the most power. I have a video recommending best brands. Test pipes are not street legal and will likely be raspy with your current catback. You’d also need a retune
One more question bro do they all come with Dunlop run flat tire and if yes what kind tire, rims and it’s size will you encourage me to upgraded with thanks 🙏
Depends on if previous owner changes them or not. And there are way too many variables to tell you which combo to get. Just do a bunch of research on what you like.
I just want to say I got my road test on November 19th and I have been thinking about which car to get and I told myself an Q70 Infiniti but then I saw the Q50 and your channel and plus the price for a used one is more affordable so I say that to say this THANK YOU FOR THE VID CAUSE YOU SOLD ME ON GETTING a Q50 AWD 🙏🏼
They didn't stop making it. They just stopped putting it in the Q50. It has been around since the G37--around 2006-2007. Automakers move on from platforms. The 3.7 has been a staple for Nissan/Infiniti but it's not one they can hold onto forever. The new 370z have the 3.7 still.
@@SpeedCultureStudios if i were to get one would it be better to save a couple of grand getting the 14-15 3.7 models and tuning it compared to aiming for red sports? i heard the 3.0t has more low end torque and the 3.7 you have to ring it out but the 3.7 is more "reliable"
@@timothybracken1728 stock vs stock they are very equal. The red sport 400 is a bit faster, obviously. You just have to decide what you want out of the car. I've done other discussion videos on this topic.
I bought the 19 q50 redsport 400. Awesome car but too many issues with whoever impacted it (manufacture, dealership or transportation) i had the q50 base as a loaner (pathetic for buying a brand new car 49 miles ) i honestly love the red sport but would buy the acura tlx over the q50 base. The tlx has more options than the q50 base. The q50 doesn't even have memory seats.
I’m not an options type of person. I couldn’t care less about memory seats. No one else is driving my car-seat never moves. I can’t be buttered up with sound systems or fancy tech features. That’s not why I personally buy a car. I would have preferred the sport seats, but now with Sparcos , I don’t care about those either
Haha damn. You’re not looking in the right spot. I got mine for $125 and the shroud for $100. There’s like 15 listings on eBay right now for $300 or less!
I want to buy this as my next car by 2023 I’ll be paying off my little Sentra. does infinity retune the transmission every year cause I’m looking between this and a q70 as well
Looking at trading in my high mileage 2013 Acura TL SH-AWD 6 speed manual for a 2014 Q50 3.7 base. Basically tired of stick shift in traffic everyday. And I really like how the VQ 3.7 sounds. The only thing that kind of surprsed me is that the factory wheels on a base are only 17's which seems small for such a large modern sport sedan. Only concern is the one im checking out has 100,000 miles but it seems to be a one owner ex lease 🤔

I've mentioned this a lot over the last couple of years. With mixed highway and city driving and a pretty heavy foot, I average about 21mpg and rarely drop below 20mpg. I recently took 3 hour (one way) trip to the Tail of the Dragon (check out my latest video) and averaged 27.2mpg through the NC mountains to get there. I took several laps up and down the Dragon and drove 3 hours home and finished at over 23mpg.
They are solid! My M45 Sport has the 5 speed and i change the fluid every 30,000 miles 110,000 miles later no issues! My coworker has 210,000 on his and he admits hes never change it.
Im looking to buy a q50, and i’m not really a car expert but I’ve seen q50s and like q50s 3.7L , whats the differences with a 3.7 and 3.0 Other than the L? Its just all over the place for me
Any links to aftermarket exhaust for a ‘15 3.7? Currently have a muffler delete and looking to make it a bit more louder and more rumble! Thanks, great video as always!
VenomousVitamin the only way to make it louder now is to her high flow cats or test pipes. If you get test pipes, it will be super loud! There are a ton of exhaust systems on the market for this car. The most popular is motordyne. Just google it. Or watch my exhaust videos to see what I did. Links are in those videos.
Very informative! Glad I found your channel, I'm pretty sure this will be my next car. Why did you avoid drive by wire? Does it affect the cars handling or what's the deal?
Thanks for checking it out!! You lose road feel with steer by wire. It’s always too stiff or too light and in a car that you are going to be racing or pushing in the hills, you want to feel the road-at least I do. It’s also been known to be a little finicky, which is never good when you’re driving a 4000lb car down the highway.
Hard to say these days! I see them listed between $15,000 - $20,000. I was offered $19,500 for trade in by Carvana, so they'd list it for resale above that.

I'm stuck here too on deciding between q50 and is350, i like the q50 style it looks mean, is350 looks more like a college student car lol, plus i love the v6 on the q
@@60series Persoanlly i like the body of the is350 a tad more than the q50. i do prefer the q50 interior though. in terms of engine your getting an naturally aspirated v6 from the lexus, which is very reliable compared to supercharged or turbo engines. another reason to why lexus hold their values so much. You do get more juice out of the q50 for a lesser price. But in terms of reliability the lexus wins. in terms of perofrmance the q50 gets the upper hand. Still a very tough choice. If you like tuning your cars both offer a pretty good aftermarket as well.
@@TillTheThrill19 indeed, i did a research based on the year ls i was looking at it had a 4 cyc turbo engine, if i could find 1 with the v6 i would take it, i love the older 2jz engines though..... Anywhere from 2017-2019 redsport, i really dont need a brand new one because after watching all these vides on youtube I'm gonna be adding all thise lip kits and accessories so i could careless for warranties. But i like the lexus is more reliable aslo love that red interior lol
@@60series Oh man the older 2jz models were great! Talk about a great reliable tuner car. I wish i had one. I used to own a 94 civic and an 09 MazdaSpeed3. Im big on Japanese performance, for a lesser price and some tunes your Japanese made whip can compete no problem with these unreliable German super cars. Honestly man from the 2014-2020 Is series there really arent major changes other than the tail lights and the exhausts. I believe in the coming of years Lexus is gona redesign the IS. But if you can find an older model by a couple years less you can save a few more bucks. But its totally up to you. If you can find an F sport thats great. Here in Toronto Canada, its easier to find Q50 on the market than the IS main reason being is that IS owners end up being long time owners.

Muffler delete is fine on its own. I liked how mine sounded. But if you install test pipes, it will be way too loud-too loud for me anyway-and it doesn’t sound that great. Super raspy!
Prodigal HD if you’re doing test pipes, I’d recommend a complete catback. You will need a tune with test pipes so you might as well take advantage of it and upgrade the exhaust.

6 k more for leather seats better suspension better wheels paddle shifter better looking not only that you don’t need to go around to all get that work done you get it as is and they come with better tune I rather have this work done by the actual manufacturer than some third party mechanic making is less reliable the 6 k isn’t shit it’s well worth it for sure you gonna spend more in the long run having to risk unreliable work done by third party machanics
Basically all of that is incorrect. The sport seats are better-I will give you that. Sport suspension is garbage. Didn’t want it in the first place, but always planned on going Coilovers so spending extra for a sport for the suspension doesn’t make sense when 90% of people change it anyway. Paddle shifters can be had for $200 and swapped in in under 30 minutes. Literally the easiest thing you can do. The front bumper is the only visual difference, and with a splitter in the non sport- it looks damn good. And the sport and non sport have exactly the same tune from the factory. Absolutely no difference. This is not 3.0t we are talking about. There is no silver sport or red sport 400.

They are just trim levels. Q50a is base model. No sunroof and no navigation etc. It's the lightest version by a few hundred pounds. Q50 premium had more options--navigation/tech package, steer by wire available, bose sound system I think, could get the wood trim--some basic upgrades. Q50s is the sport package.

Awesome man! You’ll be happy with the Q50! I appreciate you watching!
Why did they stop making the 3.7 motor after 14-15? I can't seem to find the 3.7 in newer models.

Nothing different. Software update or improvement in 2015 and that’s about it.
This car seems perfect but many people are complaining that they can’t get the mpg that is advertised. How is your MPG?
I've mentioned this a lot over the last couple of years. With mixed highway and city driving and a pretty heavy foot, I average about 21mpg and rarely drop below 20mpg. I recently took 3 hour (one way) trip to the Tail of the Dragon (check out my latest video) and averaged 27.2mpg through the NC mountains to get there. I took several laps up and down the Dragon and drove 3 hours home and finished at over 23mpg.
When do you worry about the transmission going? And the cost of replacing a job like that. I've been looking at a lot of 2015s
Why worry about it? It’s not about how old it is. It’s about how well it has been taken care of

Both good. I like the style of the Q50s better.

Anywhere from 2017-2019 redsport, i really dont need a brand new one because after watching all these vides on youtube I'm gonna be adding all thise lip kits and accessories so i could careless for warranties.

Basically all of that is incorrect. The sport seats are better-I will give you that.
Sport suspension is garbage. Didn’t want it in the first place, but always planned on going Coilovers so spending extra for a sport for the suspension doesn’t make sense when 90% of people change it anyway. The front bumper is the only visual difference, and with a splitter in the non sport- it looks damn good. And the sport and non sport have exactly the same tune from the factory. @@bymiguel-goldenx8383 depends on what you’re going for. I went with the Q50a because it is about 300lbs lighter. Knowing I would be racing, lighter was better.
