the music & updated graphics are nice (david joyner did faery tale adventure which is some of my favorite music too), but the music from the original DOTC is iconic and really cannot be topped.
Funny how that at first glance, the two games looks quite similar. But then you start noticing all the differences, that gives DOTC II it´s eligibility. That still don't change the fact, that the original DOTC is my all time favorit.
@@insertdisk Also funny how most of the "gameplay upgrades" had already been present in the C64 port of the original DotC. This one here really does seem like the most "complete" version. Love the narration and those super smooth animations, but I have to agree that the original soundtrack just can't be beaten.
Please fix the aspect ratio in these videos. These old games were played in 4:3. The pixels were not 1:1 squares. Look it up. They are not played in widescreen and stretched.
Strange, i bought my amiga 1000 instant back in 1987, after i saw DOTC on my best friends fathers amiga1000. Played that game for month ... But ive never heard about DOTC 2. This must have been a cd32 only version. Nice sounds .. but the gfx is worse than i remember. Anyways.. thx for this view back into my early computer years
Its a shame the reason this came out was due to the first version being so poor on the amiga and rushed compared to the ST wich had much more to it This defo is better though
Sad their call it Defender of the Crown II their could just have give a subtitle Lionheart or Braveheart sad it didt have a multiplayer version it will have more joy to it
This was released on both CDTV and Amiga CD32, but the first Amiga generation was considered old by the time this was released. To be fair, all of the Amiga computers were Commodore products, so this is kind of like saying "this looks like Sony and not PlayStation", but I gave you the benefit of the doubt

I'd love to see a mod that put the original music from DOTC into this game.

256 colors, epic voice acting, music and sound effects in CDROM quality. Wow!
No 256 colors, It runs on a simple CDTV ! :)
One of the games why a lot of people want to buy, and already buy, an amiga on those times.
Really beautiful game!
I loved the original to death and would be super keen to try this!
And the king offers vast health and territories... to the guy that already had all territories. He might as well offer the crown. XD
yeah, that doesn't make any sense :-O
@@insertdisk He had the strength to depose Prince John and take the crown by force. Anyway, all the toilets in the Kingdom would be called Johns.
CDTV too ;o)
Just curious... If you (or anyone reading this) were to buy a used, but in very good condition copy of this game, how much would you pay for it?
Would love to play this on a modern console.
Game starts at 0:16.

The sequel was also released on CDTV
i love DOTC on xbox, maybe i should check this out
When you say dotc, which game?
Strange, lacks some music and the castles all look the same on the map, even the C64 had different icons for Saxon and Norman
Never had a cd32...i still prefer the A500 version....

I wondering if you can save all the womens

I have to disagree, just because it is my favorite game :-)
looks like commodore and not amiga
It is at Commodore Amiga CD32 :-)
