  • Episode 60 has the guys taking another slight pause in getting back to KISS content since Nick was unable last minute to be on the show. This gave Nikko and Rob the chance to talk about the newest album from The Warning that had just been released the week prior. This is Nikko and Rob's review of the album "Keep Me Fed" and how they both discovered the band and did the album live up to the expectations that had they had built up for it? Grab a sandwich on this oversized episode... I'm not gonna say they will keep you fed.... not gonna do it.....

TWA member here, can't believe I spent 2h listening you guys sharing experience on KMF but it's nice to see more people going down the rabbit hole, give a try to Queen Of The Murder Scene album, a concept album that one day would be regarded as legendary imo, and was written by teenagers.

They mentioned they came onto TW an album late. They don't know it yet, but they found them 4 albums late....:)
Little do they know what's ahead of them exploring The Warning......

@@RightBetweenTheEyesPodcast You might be surprised how much more there is out there on TW other than their albums.
I've been digging around the net a few years and still find gems.
Their interviews, vlogs and fan cams through the years are as fascinating as their music.
It's funny on how a lot of their music is commentary on modern society and social media, and yet they draw us into exactly what they're talking about.
I'm glad you guys found them.
      Keep us Warned.....:)

I had pretty much given up on the type of rock that made up the soundtrack of my life and then, in late 2019, I discovered The Warning. I have been obsessed ever since. I even travelled to see them live in May 2022, the first concert I had been to since I saw Def Leppard in 1981. What really won me over was not just their music but also the kind of people they are. Very humble, hard-working, sweet rock monsters that actually care about their fans. Proud to be on their Patreon and I look forward to what may come next.

The Warning was never on any TV Talent shows. In fact they avoided them knowing that they would likely be pigeon holed into something that they didn’t want to be. They did appear on the Ellen Degeneres show in 2015. She and Target awarded them 10k each so they could attend Berklee College of Music in Boston.

In an Interview, TW said the first time they plan on doing the entire album live is next February at Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City. However, they are introducing the new six songs from Keep Me Fed that they had not previously released as singles during their current European tour. They revealed that, because of their tour schedule, they can only practice during their sound checks and some of the tracks require a lot of practice before they debut them live. I interpret that to mean they may or may not debuted all the songs prior to February's sold out shows in CDMX (and Guadalajara and Monterrey). It depends on the time they have to rehearse. I think Sharks and Apologize are the most challenging for them to perform live because of the transitions in the songs, and Pau needing to figure out her singing while playing the drums.
Regarding Sharks: listen closely to Ale's basslines. It reminds me of the ominous tones from the movie "Jaws" whenever the shark is coming.

Tickets for the February concert went on sale 2 weeks ago - 6 months ahead of the show. It solded out in less than 1/2 a day.10000 seats !

    Good job on reviewing KMF.
You've talked about this album, and the previous one, Error. If you haven't already done so, it's more than worth while delving into their earlier albums, XXI Century Blood, and the concept album Queen of the Murder Scene. Written and produced by teenagers, yes, but already accomplished musicians. It's fantastic to see their development from those early efforts to the well rounded adults they are now.

For Automatic Sun, Dany is playing a custom baritone Strat guitar down tuned to drop A and Ale is also down tuning her bass to drop A, which gives this thunderous bassier sound.

Here are the descriptions of the songs from the album's pre-save page:
Six Feet Deep → A song about dealing with other people's god complexes.
S!ck → A song about fearing that you never lived out your life and desperately wanting to live it.
Apologize → The anger and resentment of having to deal with the consequences of other people's mistakes.
Que Mas Quieres → It's about taunting and manipulating. We were thinking of the TikTok phrase, 'Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss' and turned it into a song.
More → A song about relationships, the push and pull and wanting 'MORE' out of life.
Escapism → A song about unhealthy coping mechanisms. Escaping into your brain to avoid reality.
Satisfied → Venting song about never being enough for someone.
Burnout → A song about being tired of being dragged down by someone who just stopped trying in life.
Sharks → A song about perfectionism and judgment. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Hell You Call A Dream → The song expresses a feeling most musicians find hard to express. When you're touring, you experience the positives, the negatives, and the whole spectrum of emotion all at once. It's about how something you love so much can be something that also weighs you down, but you continue to do it out of love. It's fulfilling, but it's tiring.
Consume → A song about pointing fingers and avoiding blame only to find yourself participating in the same system you criticize so much.
Automatic Sun → It's about missing someone and the energy this person gives you. You're drawn into their gravitational pull and brightness-like an automatic sun.

The social media reel of Ale playing Z was exactly how I was introduced to The Warning too in late 2023. From there I watched the whole Teatro Metropolitan concert and was 100% sold…. Then the MTV performances dropped 🤯. I was in disbelief they could sound so good live. I immediately got tickets to the first live shows I could attend, flew to Europe and experienced a life altering performance. I was literally in tears it was so good. That first live show is something special. I have now seen them live 4 times and have 10 more shows queued up over the next few months. ⚡️🤘

Dany's cry in Escapism is one of the highlights of the entire KMF album for me.
You can feel the pain in her voice, but at the same time the comfort of sliding out of reality momentarily into a safe space.
It's generally lower on many reactors placement of the songs on the album, but for me it's right near the top.
    Nice review guys.......🤘😁

It’s so nice to see people appreciating KMF and The Warning in general. Their previous albums are wonderful and it’s amazing that they did it as kids, but they aren’t kids anymore. I imo I think they are making a statement that they are adults now. Sadly, some fans can’t let go of their childhood and are stubbornly resisting KMF. They had to mature musically because if they don’t, they will become stagnate and only fans will listen to them, the world needs to see amid hear them.

They are starting to play on bigger venues. I think they have a show at the O2 Academy in London on 2025 and sold out the Auditorio Nacional, two shows with close to 10K seats each show. Also, Keep me Fed is best selling Rich album in UK and it is going up the charts… they are also the no 1 emergent artists in Billboard whatever that means. They are opening their lives with 6 ft deep

I thought the same as you about "Consume" until I heard it in a fan video recorded at a gig in Austria and confirmed once again why we say that TW are exponentially better live.
Excellent, interesting and entertaining review of "KMF".
As you get to know The Warning more you discover that they have several styles of rock but they are invariably pure rock!!
And I continue to reaffirm my humble but very own opinion that with its structure, its cuts, transitions, rhythm changes, modulations, choruses, pre-choruses, drum attacks, its endings…
    All of this is masterful.
The great beauty of their art is in its simplicity but all of this always seems to be at the right time and in the right way, bordering on perfection and predominating sophistication.
There could always be other options, but the ones they chose seem to be the exact ones to create a masterpiece of art.
Also impregnating everything with a natural touch of inevitable sensuality that only adds improvement and with the feeling, sensitivity and passion of their blood, race and culture.
Each of its pieces can be very different, but always with all the TW flavor.
It’s very clear that these sisters have no limits.
They have that gift that only belongs to the geniuses that appear among us every certain period of time.
This is the youngest veteran band in the rock world.
Without forgetting that there are only three of them, yes, but three true geniuses in their field.
Melodically they are the best, without a doubt.
They are the queens of the hook, the riff, the key changes, the contagious rhythms, the catchy melodies, the sublime voices, the unbeatable harmonies and the ambiguous but deep and powerful messages.
And this happens song after song… INCREDIBLE!!
I think that DPA, with the album "KMF", have risen to the next level, where the greats are, but they have arrived with the sword drawn and the knife between their teeth, very willing to take it by storm and take no prisoners...
    The new masters of rock:
    The warning!! ⚡
For now I'm subscribing to your channel because I hope to see many reactions from you to my favorite band of all time.
Thanks and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽

According to the Warning's website's tour date listings, and also the Riot Fest 2024 lineup poster, The Warning will be playing there. The festival dates are September 20, 21 and 22. The Warning have shows in Cleveland on the 18th, New Jersey on the 21st, and Pittsburgh on the 23rd, so it seems more likely that they'd be performing in Chicago on the 20th, since it will give them a little more breathing room (assuming the festival would be so accommodating). Last year they played in Chicago, at Bottom Lounge, as part of their Error World Tour. There are several fan cam videos posted from that show here on youtube.

If I were you guys, and this is for everyone. I would fly over to Mexico City in Feb 2025 for their shows in Auditorio Nacional. Even when they are sold out shows, you can always buy tickets outside with retailers. I had the chance to see the Teatro Metropolitan and Pepsi center concerts. They were over 120 min. probably longer. Shows in Europe and the US are in smaller venues and they play for around 60 to 70 min. So make sure to bring your behinds to this great city and see this great band at their home turf .

    Freeze The Fall.
Vocalist/guitarist Quinn,17, discovered The Warning when she was 12, and taught herself guitar by learning Dany's parts from QOTMS. Joining her is drummer Jonah, 16 and Aria, 15, bass.
They have 4 official videos, Glitch, Daughters of Witches, Masquerade and Broken Glass. Pick any 1 of those. If you want to see them live, Masquerade Live, from Revelry.
Still in high school, they were signed to a promotion and distribution deal 17 days after uploading their first single.

Keep Me Fed is their 4th album, 2nd with the record label, I can understand if you hesitate to give a chance to the first 2 because they were independent and children... well, they are still fantastic, the sound is different, there are more genre variations and Dany's voice is good but not current Dany level, and yet THEY ARE VERY VERY GOOD, just be open to them being different, QOTMS (2nd album) might be the better album overall if not, at the very least is neck and neck with these 2.
